Reincarnated Into a Shounen Anime-Chapter 40: Training
~Traning Ground-47~
In the cloudless blue sky, the sun smeared like a ball if white. The green canopy beamed with life. It’s jagged terrain and slippery surface made it hard to walk. But the canyons in the training ground told another story. The canyons were filled with boiling lava. The intense heat rising up, twisting and turning the air.
But as if protected by some unseen force, the edges of the canyon walls had grass. Not affected by the heat at all.
At the moment, the students of Class-A were running, trying to complete their teachers task. Alex at the front, followed by Aika, Salonika Saika and few others. Alex looked like he was jogging. Not even sweating. The ones running behind him were sweating profusely.
Few meters back from them, the group of students looked even more miserable. They were breathing heavily, moving forward like their life depended on it. They were covered in mud, dirty all over.
Their eyes silently leaking tears like a broken dam. They felt like their heart was about to burst, lungs felt like someone felt like someone was scratching it with sharp nails. Their mind overwhelmed. Every fiber of their being screaming to give up and pass out. But that thought brought back the memory of horror they witnessed.
The first 10 km was fine, but the real problem started from 20 kilometers Mark. They started to feel tired. And the jagged terrain made it worse when they would have to climb up or down.
By 30 km mark, the students with weak constitution and Bloodline unrelated to Physique, they had looked like they will die any moment.
Grasping for breath with mouth as wide as possible. But they still couldn’t take in enough air. And, by 37 km mark, an fortunate soil passed out. Students didn’t help him because they remembered their teachers words and thought that she will take care of their fallen comrade since she is flying right above them.
So they continued forward.
But how wrong they were. Not long after the student passes out, a horrified, blood chilling scream rang from behind.
They looked back, only to see the passed out classmate twisting and turning while screaming at the top of his lungs. His veins bulged in blue color. He scratched all over his body. Rubbing his body on the ground for relief. Blood spilled our from the scratched skin.
Teacher Reyna flying above gently came down like a celestial fairy. But the students ran for their lives. Hearts hammering like drum. Previously it was exhaustion, no it was utter, unrestricted fear of the fairy like women behind them.
"Told you stopping will intensify the effect..."
Her murmuring sent chill down the students spine and they ran faster.
Even now, after crossing nearly 46 km, they still had terrified expression. Because few other students passed out before and they had the same experience. The guy who first passed out had long committed suicide. Getting out of the training ground. Some of them even considered it, but the teachers warning made them pause.
She will make them experience this outside if anyone committed suicide.
’She is a devil!’
Everyone collectively thought. Just a few kilometers and this nightmare will be over. The students were wrong when they thought they could take it.
They could not. This was hell! Worse than any training they had been put through. Squishing every bit of will power out of them.
The students came infront of a canyon. The saw the wals reflect red light. Clearly there were lava inside. But they have to pass this canyon. A thick log was placed above it and it conveniently wasn’t burning at all!
Alex and the others crossed first. Then the second guy crossed. The moment they stepped onto the log, the heat hit them like physical blow. Their already heated body felt like they were burning alive.
They couldn’t help but feel that dying while burning in lave would be better then enduring this hell. They regretted every choice they made. They regretted ever showing their talents. They regretted ever being born into a prestigious family in the first place!
Before they knew it, they had crossed the log, it was wide enough to pose no problems while crossing.
The students noticed the starting point was close. Just 1 more kilometer to travel. Some eager to end this nightmare channeled every bit of strength into their legs and ran with all their might. Their was a finish line infront of the giant rock Rayna was standing on before.
The moment the students crossed the finish line, their body gave out and they slammed into the ground like dead bodies. Not even caring how they were falling. They passed out few moments later.
The rune on their chest disappeared. And as if life was breathed into them, they twitched. Their sealed energy flowing back. Making their recovery easier.
Alex was standing in a corner awkwardly. Everyone was spent, breathing and sweating, and here he was, not even sweating, let alone breathing heavy.
He was feeling the guilt of being too strong!
But there was nothing he could do.
Alex noticed teacher Rayna looking gazing at him from above. She noticed him looking at her, she started at his green eyes for 2 seconds before slowly panning her gaze to the students.
They were somewhat recovered now. They were more or less conscious. But they looked broken, scared and traumatised.
Alex looked at Rayna expectantly. Wondering how she planned to fix their psychology.
Rayna waited for them to recover a bit more before she clapped to catch their attention.
"You feel like I’m a devil and regret ever being born. You feel like giving everything ip. I get it. But that’s the point. That’s how will is trained. Hate me if you may. Doesn’t matter. Nor do I care. The world doesn’t care either. What if you were being chased and people were after your life? What will you do then? Your powers are sealed. You can’t do anything but run. What are you going to do then? Stop and give up? Just because you don’t want to experience uncomfortable things?"
Rayna said while frowning. The students listened with their head down. Everything she said was true. Now they felt ashamed for even thinking such things.
"Even now, you ran because you had something to achieve. To get fame, or recognition or anything else. But you did. Use that drive. If you still think that this is too much for you, raise your hands now, I will exempt you from my class now own." 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
Rayna paused. Letting the students decide. But no one raised their hands. Seeing that she nodded.
"Good. As stated before. We will follow this resume for the next three months, everyday except the weekends. Any questions?"
"NO, MA’AM!!"
The students voiced in unison. Their passion reigniting and overwhelming their earlier experience.
Alex from the side couldn’t help but nod in approval.
’She hit them with truth to diverge their attention, then reignited their passion to anchor their mind... impressive.’
Alex felt that this salty teacher wasn’t that bad after all...
