Reincarnated Into a Shounen Anime-Chapter 32: Avanika Sires Sean
"Huh? Ah! Y-Yes! Th-there is something...Ahem! I-I’m Avanika Sires Sean. I’m a second year..."
Avanika introduced herself. Alex nodded.
"Yes. Nice to meet you Senior Avanika. I’m Alexander Pluto."
An awkward silence stretched between the two. He clearly noticed she had something to say, but he wasn’t in the mood to converse right now.
So he turned his head away and and enjoyed the sun rise. Ignoring her.
Avanika from the side felt heat rising on her face. Her face slightly flushed. She looked back between Alex and the sun rise, wanting to speak but nervousness gripping her heart every time.
After a while of struggling internally, she finally found a topic she could start a conversation with.
"U-umm... I saw your fight yesterday. Y-You did great."
She said awkwardly. Alex looked back at her and gave a teasing smile.
"You mean how I publicly tortured people?"
Avanika flinched and looked at Alex with slight panic in her eyes.
"Th-that’s not what I meant! A-Although what you did was extreme even for them, I think they had it coming since they did those kind of things... playing with people I mean."
Alex gave a long gaze at Avanika. Making her look away.
"Senior. I think it’s best if we don’t waste each others time. There is something you want from me. What is it?"
She paused for a second in contemplation before nodding.
"Although this may come off as abrupt but... what do you think of a Lost One taking over someone else’s life and living as them? And also changing many people’s destiny as they live as someone they aren’t..."
Alex narrowed his eyes. Confused.
"I don’t know what gave you the idea that I would know but I really have no idea."
"Hmm? Aren’t you a Lost One?"
Avanika asked, tilting her head. Curiously looking at Alex.
"Huh? How did you know that?"
"Well... its on your student ID... you can look at it when you say, Student ID."
"Huh? Really? Let me try... Student ID?"
Alex said in mild astonishment. But to his surprise, a status window did pop up infront of him.
[Student Identification]
[Name: Alexander Pluto]
[Year of Study: First Year]
[Rank: 01]
[Class: A]
[Status: Head of The First Years, Lost One]
[Personal Credits: 713,745,839]
"PFFF-!!!"
"Hm?"
Alex was checking on his student identification UI when he heard someone choke on air. He looked to the front and saw Avanika coughing.
"Is something wrong, Senior?"
"No. No, nothings wrong. It’s just that this the first time I’ve seen this large amount of PC on a first year... you really do deserve to be at the top." 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
Alex just smiled. But internally, he once again marveled how people of this world really doesn’t care much about people from another world.
’Free house, clothing and on top of 700 millions Credits? Ain’t I a rich asshole...’
He closed the window and looked at Avanika again.
"We seem to have gotten off track. So what is it that you wanted to... oh! I get! So basically, what your saying is, you reincarnated into your current body, and probably have some meta knowledge about your bodies destiny and the people around you! And now your feeling like you have hijacked someone else and don’t deserve to live! Is that it?"
She started at Alex’s smiling face in shock. Unable to fully understand how could he know something she hadn’t even told him yet. And with such accuracy as well.
She felt countless thoughts running through her mind before she finally managed to open her mouth.
"H-how did you know...?"
"Ehhhh~~ I was just guessing you know? But now that you confirmed it, I know it know. Heh~."
Avanika’s brain seemed to have short circuited. Because she stood there, her mouth wide open, staring at Alex.
"Hello~~ Senior~! Is your brain online yet?"
"Huh!? Yeep!"
She mad a cute startled sound and stammered back when she found Alex near her face and waving at her. She fell on her butt.
Alex watched it happen in stunned silence. He didn’t catch her. Nor did he help her up.
’That’s too cliché. And women are strong enough to get up on their own.’
He felt the situation was kind of illogical. A trained person falling down just cause they are startled?
...Yeah. He ain’t falling for that...
~~~
A few inches later...
Alex and Avanika were now sitting on a bench. Looking at the scenery and enjoying the morning tranquility.
"Cough! Senior Avanika! Since what I’ve guessed is correct, let me ask you this. When did you gain consciousness? And when did you realise that this maybe similar to a world you know through, novel, or games or some other means?"
Alex asked, breaking the awkward silence. He was now curious. Was she also familiar with the anime? If so, then he could definitely know what the name was and be finally at peace.
Avanika shot Alex a greatful glance for not bringing up the blunder before opening her mouth.
"I was conscious from the moment I was born. I was an anime nerd office worker I my past life by the way."
"Oh yeah? What year it was?"
"Hm? It was 2025, why do you ask?"
"Well... I think we might be from the same world but I can’t tell... do you know Hitler?"
Alex asked unsure. He thought it would have been really cool if they were from the same world.
"Hitler? Yeah. I know him. I mean, who doesn’t?"
"Well Senior, I think we are from the same planet but from different timeline because before I got here, it was year 2598."
Alex said as he nodded. As if assuring himself. Avanika’s eyes widened. She leaned closer, her eyes sparkling.
"Really!? How is the earth in the future!? Must’ve been really advanced right? And! And! What about anime and webtoons!? You know, the online entertainment!!"
Alex felt her enthusiasm but shook his head.
"It isn’t as grand as you think. While the tech was certainly advanced. And the entertainment has evolved, they lost the soul like that of the 21st century online entertainment. Besides, people in my time were more focused on fully immersive games than watching ancient shows. I was one fo the weird ones who used to watch them."
He said as header himself comfortable in the bench.
"Oh... that’s... unfortunate. But they still make anime right? And I belive the world is at peace?"
Avanika sounded a bit down.
"Yea and no. The anime in your sense is basically not made anymore. The anime fell from grace like a slut who isn’t desired anymore because she is old. As for world peace. Yeah. That actually happened."
"Really!? That’s a relief! I was really worried about World War III in my time so-"
Avanika completely ignored Alex’s metaphor for the sake of it. She felt relief for many reasons but it didn’t last long.
"Yeah. After 3 more World Wars and 90% of the humanity getting wiped out in the last one. Planet getting contaminated with radiation and pollution. So yeah. World peace certainly is a thing now because most of the people in the world is dead and there is shortage of people for the leaders to play with."
’...’
Avanika was frozen in place after hearing Alex. Never in her life she expected such thing...
"Anyway. I have some where to go. So let’s move to the main topic. We can talk about our timelines later. But tell me this, from what I get, you certainly have meta knowledge of some sort. As you may have recognised the characters. So, what kind of thing you reincarnated into? And what’s the plot?"
Seeing the atmosphere getting heavy, Alex changed the subject. And he also had to visit he third rank,whose name he couldn’t remember.
Avanika snapped out of her revery and nodded.
"So, when I was dead I thought it was it. Finally some peace because I was overworked to death."
She started. Alex just nodded and murmured typical under his breath which earned him a jab from her.
"I was astonished with all the new things when I woke up. Felt alive again. Felt like I was living my dream of using swords and magic. Trained hard to get stronger everyday. I have loving parents, loyal servants-"
"Your a noble?"
"... I havea kilometer long name for a reason..."
"...Fair..."
’...’
’...’
"But as I was saying. Life was good. Until I was 16 and went to a ball. There I saw many people that seemed familiar. Name, behaviour, physical traits and a feeling of deja vu. The as the party continued, the feeling became more and more apparent until I couldn’t ignore it anymore.
That day, I went home and for few days, did research and came to conclusion that I was inside a novel I read... and I was the childhood friend of the Female Lead and was destined to lose the love of my life to her. And I’m supposed to take it with a smile..."
"Wait. How do you even get the feeling that your inside some novel? At least anime or webtoon has character portraits so it’s easy. But how come novel?"
’...’
Avanika looked at Alex with a dead plan expression.
"Authors can post the character images you can buy you know..."
"Hey! Don’t look at me like that! In my time, those kind of thing is practically extinct!"
He raised his hands in the air in surrender.
"But anyway after that, you distanced yourself with you childhood friend? And ran here?"
Alex asked.
"No. I’m not childhood friends with her in that deep sense. We just know each other and our families are allies. That’s it."
"Mmm~... What about your supposed love of life?"
"He was my fiancée but I begged father to cancel it as I want to focus on my path. He agreed. I’m really greatful to have such parents. I didn’t tell him the real reason though, which I feel bad for..."
She said with a gretful smile.
"How many dudes are supposed to be bagged by the female lead?"
"Many..."
’...’
’...’
There was a pause. Before Alex broke it.
"Heh. Oh boy~. Ohhhh boy. Hehehe~. Damn! What a s-"
"It’s not what you think! The novel was single Male Lead one!"
’...’
"Fair..."
There was another pause. Alex looked at Avanika who had slightly flushed face. She clearly got what he was about to say.
"Anyway. What is your Lost One Gift? If you don’t mind telling that is. Mine is basically Superman without flight ability. AND no weakness, apparently... for now."
Avanika’s eyes widened before she nodded.
"I have two Bloodlines."
"What’s so great about that?"
"That, in itself isn’t impressive. But my second Bloodline is. I haven’t been able to awaken or use its powers yet but I know of its presence and know its name. Its on dormant state and is too powerful for me to use. It name is [Fragment of The Original Wave]"
"Wow! That’s a sick name! What’s your other Bloodline? And what is this ones rank?"
"I have no idea about its rank. But my original Bloodline is a Legendary-Rank one. It’s called [Songs of The Ocean]"
"Wow... sick names. But anyway. I have to go. So give me your contact info. We will chat later."
After that, Alex and Avanika exchanged contact info’s which was nothing but to scan their Student ID with their phone.
Alex got up from his seat and was about to leave when he suddenly looked back.
"Senior. You’re a Sea Elf right?"
"Yes?"
"And you’re a noble from an underwater kindom?"
"Yes. It’s situated in the sea between Japan and Korea... why? Is there there something wrong?"
"No. No... I just realised a whole story took place underwater... anyway bye. I’m getting late! See you around!"
Alex waved bye as he left. Avanika waved slowly as well. Looking at his departing back until she couldn’t see him anymore. She then turned to watch the sun rise again. Which has risen quite high.
Avanika got lost in her thoughts and forgot the passage of time...
