Reincarnated as the Baron's son: My Infinite Card Upgrade System-Chapter 95: What are you?
"You want me to choke him to death?" Ava asked, her expression that of a person completely fed up.
"Or you could place a pillow over his face. I don’t know, whichever way you feel is best," Alaric replied, a smile on his face with his palms facing each other.
"Lord Alaric... Do you wish to die that badly?" Ava gave a resigned sigh. "If the leader of the army suddenly died under your care, then Lady Meren is definitely going to kill you."
"Fair point. Okay, new plan."
Alaric sat on the side of the bed, his legs crossed as he placed one hand under his jaw.
"Obviously, the sickness I had was a complete lie, and I don’t happen to be any type of doctor, so I don’t know how to cure this kind of illness. That said, I should be able to do something similar to that. Aurora, Laura, Auzure!" he called out.
Immediately, three of his summons appeared beside him, flanking his sides.
"Master, I do not have the power to heal others. As such, I don’t think I will be much help," Aurora was the first to speak, even before Alaric could say anything.
"Same here. I deal more with self-healing than healing others, so I guess I am just as useless," Laura followed.
Auzure grabbed Alaric’s hand, the one place she found comfort. And then, she uttered...
"Auzure isn’t sure, but she should be able to heal this person if the Master wants."
After getting rejected by his two summons, it felt nice knowing at least one of them had what he needed.
Placing his hand on her head, Alaric smiled. "That’s a good girl. I’ll treat you to something when we’re done."
For some reason, that was more than enough to motivate Auzure.
She began to walk towards the bedridden man and gently touched his skin.
Her entire body began to glow, slowly shifting towards the man’s form, making both of them illuminate the same light.
After a while, the light cleared up, and Auzure moved away.
She had a sad look on her face. "Auzure doesn’t think she can heal him, Master."
Alaric, with a serious look on his face, uttered, "I expected something like that, to be honest. You did your best."
Taking a closer look at the man, Alaric realized most of the symptoms the man had were very much similar to typhoid.
Even back in his old world, people who always dealt with typhoid were typically given some kind of antibiotics to cure them.
Though he wasn’t sure, part of him remembered the disease being born from bacteria.
’System, show me skills for curing bacteria or perhaps sickness.’

Alaric smiled. The reason why he didn’t think of it earlier was unclear to him. Still, it mattered not—he had already found what he was looking for. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞
"Purchase," he commanded with a straight face.
.....
Inside one of the main rooms in the Lorik mansion, Meren was present there, one of her knights standing right beside her while she was working at the table.
On the ground was a long red rug that led towards the entrance. The two sides of the room had huge open windows, making it possible to see whatever was going on outside the mansion.
"My lady, we have three other counties ready to deploy military aid. And seven baronies so far," the knight issued.
Meren placed the book on the table, resting her back on the chair while reading the ceiling for a while.
"What about Duke Dergen? Has he considered making peace?" she asked.
"I’m afraid not, my lady. News has reached us that he has already deployed his soldiers all around the eastern borders. It’s only a matter of time before he brings them to the north."
Meren let out a loud sigh. "I guess there’s no turning back now. And to think he wants to end the lives of the northerners that badly."
Silence filled the room...
Mainly because the knight could not fully understand why Meren wanted to protect them enough to go to war with Duke Dergen.
But everyone whom Meren had once ruled over had a deep respect for her. They all seemed to always believe she was perfect, unable to make any mistakes.
Suddenly—
Bang! Bang!
There was a knock on the door.
The knight immediately responded by opening the door to see who could be knocking.
And there stood Alaric, Ava following behind him.
"Who are you?" Alaric asked as he stared at the knight, hands in his pockets.
For a female knight, Alaric was surprised at how tall she was. It was probably why he felt a tad bit triggered.
"I am the Duchess’s personal knight. Are you here to make a report?"
’Is she saying she’s better than me?’ Alaric hissed internally, about to open his mouth.
Luckily, Ava knew Alaric well enough to stop him from putting them in trouble.
"Yes, my lord would like to meet with the Duchess," Ava chimed in.
The knight stepped to the side, giving Alaric the chance to walk through.
Alaric didn’t try to hide his attitude as he sat down on the chair, his fingers tapping the table.
"You seem troubled. Did you run into any problems?" Meren asked.
"No, I didn’t. Your knight has been healed of any sickness he once had," Alaric replied. ’I spent 500cp on that damn card.’
"Oh, I see." Meren closed the book. "I know I was the one who requested you to heal my knight. And while I’m grateful, I didn’t expect you to do it in less than a day. Which then brings me to my next question... What are you, Alaric Montclair?"
Alaric was used to getting questionable looks from people after he does something outlandish or impressive.
Yet, this was the first time in a long time, he had felt this intimated by someone.
