Reincarnated as an Energy with a System-Chapter 1732: A Talisman
Matthew trained with a few soldiers and found out that he could steal a portion of someone else's speed into his own body. The person giving had to be willing and would lose the portion of his or her speed for as long as they were willing.
Matthew immediately stole the speed of all the undead, becoming nearly 3 times faster than he was regularly.
Ning tried to fight him and found himself lacking in speed as the man could make too many moves too quickly. He could even outrun a horse with how fast he was.
Romus had a new power, although he didn't mention what it was. He wasn't the type to share, it seemed, and wanted to keep it to himself.
Ning practiced with the bow while the others dealt with everything else. He shot a few arrows, finding it surprising how the air itself seemed to fall onto the string, heating up and waiting for him to let it loose.
The bow was also surprisingly easy to pull, making it an amazing weapon to use. He gave it to Matthew to practice a bit too. As a man with four hands, he would make for an amazing fighter who could hold a shield with one hand, the bow with other two, and the sword with the final one.
It was simply incredible how powerful Matthew would be thanks to his Perpetual Awakening.
"How is the cleanup coming along?" Ning asked. "Is the battlefield fixed?"
"No," Matthew said. "My soldiers have done their best, but there is only so much they can do. The best we can do is explain that we had a fight and killed a few stragglers along the way."
Ning thought for a bit and nodded. "You got all the documents, right?" he asked.
Matthew nodded. "From both the officer that followed Miss Mari, and the woman Altunia, who was sent here to kill a female Reaper. I still can't believe that someone was sent to kill her. It's wild that the false Emperor would do this, but if you are right in your assumption, then it does make sense."
Ning nodded. "It does," he said. "And I have a feeling it is actually true. Not just a hunch."
The System asking him to make Shara an Empress more or less guaranteed the fact that she had a strong possibility of becoming one already. That was to say that he was closer in his assumption than others believed.
"Your soldiers know how to ride carriages, right?" Ning asked.
"They're capable of traveling through a carriage, yes," the man said.
"Good," Ning said. "I'm going to go rest now. Just have the carriage dragged along when it is time."
"Alright," Matthew said. "You go rest. We will handle the rest."
Ning went to the largest carriage that he had chosen for himself and Shara, and lay to the side. It was close to afternoon right now, so it was about time for everyone to leave.
Even if he had woken up late today, having trained for so long, he began feeling tired and wanted a bit of a nap.
Before sleeping though, he needed to do something he hadn't done in a bit. He had many points, so it was now time to buy some things.

This was the highest amount of points he had ever seen in the months since he had gotten this system. He was happy to see what sort of items he could buy.
He hoped he came across something that was greatly useful for him.
'If I hadn't spent that money on the Spear, I would've had enough points to go over 100. I wonder what sort of things I would have seen,' he wondered.
Still, 93 wasn't bad and he began looking through what he received. More potions, more scrolls, more money. It was amazing how much repetition there was in the types of things he gained.
Ning wondered if he wanted to buy Scroll of Fighting for 75 points. It improved both his strength and Agility by over 3 and a half times his original strength.
Considering he had already improved it half as much once before, his overall improvement with his base strength would be 4 times with this.
It was an amazing thing he could buy with that many points, but considering he had gotten something as unique as Life Sense with 60 points, he wanted to get something else.
He wanted something that one couldn't normally get in this world through one power or another. Something that changed the very dynamic of how things were.
Ning found something incredible in that regard.
Talisman of Concealment: 85 points.
It was a talisman that one wore around their neck that concealed the wearer from all senses in a certain area. The area could be expanded per the wearer's thought. The larger the radius, the less effective the talisman was.
Without extension, it completely concealed someone to the point that if they were stationary, it would be impossible to notice them. Every 10 meters radius it was used around, the effectiveness dropped by half.
At the first 10 meters, it was half as useful.
At 20 meters, it was a quarter as useful.
At 30 meters, it was one-eighth as useful.
And so on.
It never truly got useless, no matter how much it was used. Which was a good thing or else the talisman couldn't be considered good at all.
Ning looked at the Scroll of Elemental Tattoo, that gave him a random tattoo allowing him to use a random element. He wanted it too.
But the Talisman of Concealment was something he needed. He had to think about his need before his wants.
Ning sighed in the end, and bought the talisman.
A black necklace, seemingly made up of some sort of black metal appeared in his hands, with a single black onyx gem at its center.
Ning wore it the moment he bought it and immediately felt his aura vanish at once.
