Chapter 409: Following Discreetly Behind~

Feeling happy with the plan she had come up with, Scaly found herself happily following behind the group of unsuspecting adventurers as they slowly made their way through the sandstorm while searching for the dragon that was now following behind them. A Dragon that none of them would ever find, as their gaze was focused on what was in front of them, while only a small part of their attention was kept on ensuring no monsters ambushed them along the way.

If it was another group of somewhat weaker adventurers, this would not have been the case, as they would still have had to place some serious attention on their surroundings of the third floor of the dungeon, as some of the monsters still posed a certain level threat to them, but for a group consisting of only A and S Rank Adventurers, there was no need for them to worry about the monsters on the third floor of the dungeon.

Even the venomous scorpions that normal S Rank Adventurers might fear, they didn’t, as there was a powerful healer who had reached the S Rank amongst them. Capable of easily dealing with the powerful venom that would render most normal S Rank Adventurers helpless.

In a way, it was only because of this total disregard for the monsters living on the third floor of the dungeon that Scaly was able to follow behind the group of powerful adventurers without being discovered.

Not that Scaly herself had any clue about any of this, as she just believed her hiding skills were powerful enough to easily fool this group of powerful adventurers...

"Still no sign of the dragon... Looks like there is a good chance it already made it to the fourth floor."

"Indeed, we might as well get moving towards the closest passage before the others get ahead of us."

"Okay, but before that, I will check up with the others and see if anyone else spotted the dragon on the third floor. If not, we will be moving onwards to the fourth floor."

And because of how confident Scaly started becoming in her own stealth abilities, she ended up sneaking close enough to the group of adventurers that she was able to overhear their conversations even amidst the powerful sandstorm that made it hard to hear anything but the wind.

How she remained undiscovered remained a mystery, as she was essentially no more than a dozen meters away from the closest adventurer and should have been discovered under normal circumstances

But the situation she found herself in wasn’t exactly normal circumstances, as the adventurers who should be keeping an eye out for any approaching monsters just so happened to be in a rather annoyed state after hearing that she had apparently already reached the fourth floor of the dungeon and now they had to follow her to the fourth floor of the dungeon.

The annoyance in question stemming from the fact that the fourth floor of the dungeon was a truly dangerous place compared to the previous three floor to this group of adventurers according to what she managed to pick up from that annoyed adventurer.

Because of that, though this group of adventurers was powerful, most of them didn’t want to go to the fourth floor of the dungeon because of how deadly the place was.

However, with the leading figures already having decided that they were going, they had no way to resist as they were dragged along towards the passage leading to the fourth floor of the dungeon.

As for Scaly herself? She was more than happy with this development, as she would finally be able to go to the fourth floor of the dungeon.

The initial fear she had about there being a city present around the passage or on the other side of the passage had long since vanished during her short time following this group of adventurers, as she had learnt from them that there wasn’t any cities on the fourth floor of the dungeon and the few cities and smaller outposts on the third floor of the dungeon were located around passages leading up to the second floor of the dungeon.

In other words, it was safe for her to make use of the passages leading down to the fourth floor of the dungeon and she didn’t have to worry about accidentally ending up inside an adventurer city.

But... As she continued following behind the group of powerful adventurers in a far more joyful manner than before now that she knew they were making their way to a passage leading to the fourth floor of the dungeon, she suddenly spotted another group of adventurers approaching from afar.

Although this group of adventurers weren’t anywhere close enough to notice her yet and seemed to only have spotted the group of adventurers she was following behind, their presence alone made her somewhat worried, as she decided to keep a bit more distance between herself and the group of adventurers she was following behind.

Ensuring that she wouldn’t be easily noticed by this group of approaching adventurers. An action she soon enough found herself thanking herself three times over, as among the group of approaching adventurers, she spotted one with a unique tracking class that undoubtedly excelled when it came to finding someone trying to hide like she was.

And even though she could no longer hear what this group of adventurers were talking about as they met up with this group of adventurers, it was clear that the unique tracking adventurer seemed to have somehow picked up on her presence as the group began backtracking in search of her.

Luckily, with the distance she had made, she quickly went around the group of adventurers to prevent them from running into her before continuing to follow behind the group of adventurers who had now begun to backtrack in the same direction they had come from after joining up with the new group of adventurers that the unique tracking adventurer was a part of.
