Reincarnated As A Lion In Another World-Chapter 775: Turtle And Tortoise
"Primordial Turtle, Great Protector, greetings!"
Seth bowed his head slightly, but he kept his gaze on the moving drill-shaped machine.
"I have come, as agreed," Seth added.
"I can see that," said the owner of the voice as the space vibrated.
Seth’s eyes darted to the right a bit to catch a glimpse of an absolutely massive creature casually swimming through the void.
The creature had to be at least the size of thousands of star systems out together.
But just as Seth wanted to take a closer look, the creature vanished.
An image remained stuck in Seth’s mind though, the image of that eye.
That was a being that was absolutely respected and feared among the top monsters.
A being so powerful that it had to be controlled and restricted to the edge of the Known Universe.
Seth swallowed the saliva in his mouth.
There were regular creatures and there were Primordial creatures.
Then there were regular Supreme Level Immortals, and there were Primordial Supreme Level Immortals.
Those were two very different things.
The being that spoke to him belonged to the latter group. For now, such beings were not even much in that galaxy.
The last known occurrence of one was Noel the Great.
Except there was also a slight difference between the likes of Noel and this type of entity.
There was always a higher peak.
"He came as agreed, cousin..." Another voice echoed from behind Seth.
Seth didn’t turn back but the hair on the back of his neck stood on end.
Another one.
Seth already knew who this person was and greeted him in accordance.
"Primordial Tortoise, the Undying, greetings old one!" Seth announced that the waves of telepathic force were flowing out of his mind in large amounts.
There was silence.
And unbearable silence.
The silence seemed to last an instant, yet went on for an eternity.
Seth kept his eyes on the drill-shaped machine, hoping that nothing would happen to it while keeping his senses alert.
Just in case.
But how would he possibly defend himself if things didn’t go the way he wanted?
"Did...he...call me old?" Said the second voice, presumably belonging to the ancient tortoise.
"We are old," said the first voice l, belonging to the Turtle.
"Apologies, great ones!" Seth quickly said.
"It’s fine," said the invisible turtle. The difference in the way the two ancient entities spoke was clear.
The ancient turtle sounded mellow and relaxed while the great tortoise had an edge to his tone, like he could do anything at any moment.
This was very scary.
Seth was standing before beings even his father would not dare challenge. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶
"And you brought the thing..." the ancient tortoise commented.
Suddenly, Seth could feel the powerful gazes shift from him to the drill-shaped machine.
"Yes, ancient ones," Seth said. It was difficult to address these unfathomable entities without knowing where they were.
But Seth did not want to see them, the last time wanted right now was to see these entities face to face.
Seth opened to continue speaking, "That is the last known well-preserved Beyonder of the Traveler Series created in the last years of the monkeys.
I recovered it...by accident," Seth hesitated before saying the last part.
As expected, the second round of silence was deafening, almost frightening.
"Do you take us for fools, Primordial Cat?" The tortoise voice resounded.
Suddenly, all the disturbances and pressure were gone. Seth felt a false sense of relief, and this increased his alertness.
"We know where you could have gotten it," The turtle voice licked Seth’s ears. He snapped his neck to look but found nothing.
They were so close, yet so far.
They could be holding their giant palms above his head at this moment and he wouldn’t know.
"And if we know where you got it, so does the Highest Will!
YOU ARE PLAYING ROUGH!"
Seth’s knees buckled but he didn’t kneel. The power was not directed to him.
He looked up to see that the drill-shaped machine had stopped on its course as though it had been paused in time.
"The Highest Will knows everything already, why must we act like it’s a new thing?" Seth asked, wearing a careful frown and squeezing his fingers into fists.
"Protocol!" The tortoise voice exclaimed.
Seth sighed, "I got it from Draconic Heaven." He admitted.
"Specify!"
"I don’t know," Seth was honest, "But I’m assuming it had something to do with the past fifteen million years.
In Original Heaven, there have been suspicions..."
"What kind of suspicions?" The turtle voice asked almost immediately.
Seth looked around, "The Beyonder is a vessel that should have been exterminated in its entirety.
Every relic that could aid anyone in passing the Outerverse should have been destroyed by the Highest Will..."
"You told them about the Beyonder?" The tortoise interrupted.
Seth hurriedly shook his head, "No ancient one.
But it has come to our knowledge in Original Heaven that the monkeys may not have failed in their final attempt to leave the universe.
But we suspect that in the process of satisfying their curiosity, they inadvertently let something in."
"Hmmm," The turtle hummed just as Seth heard a whoosh, as if something massive was swimming behind him.
He turned around and still saw nothing.
"Indeed, the monkeys did not experience their annihilation because they attempted it, but probably because they succeeded and there was a disturbance that followed..." The tortoise said, "But how does that relate to the Draconic Heaven?"
Seth thought very carefully about his words before saying them.
"Ancient ones, I am not sure.
But if I were the Highest Will and I knew something that did not belong here had entered the universe, I would want to keep something that can be used to take it out.
It is my own personal assumption that the Highest Will intentionally left the Beyonder intact.
As for exactly why, who, when, or how? I do not know and I don’t think I have the ability to know for the time being.
Why did I find it in the Draconic Heaven and not anywhere else? I don’t know the answer to that either.
It was merely parked inside the cold hangar under the Imperial Palace for all these years and I doubted anyone, even Ibadon, had known what it was used for.
All I know is that I was able to find the Beyonder and trace its records to ancient texts from Original Heaven.
Ancient guardians, you promised me that if I could find a way to leave the universe, you would not stand in my way
Do you wish to break that promise?" Seth asked boldly.
He had planned meticulously for this very stage.
The finding of the Beyonder was a stroke of luck that changed Seth’s plans slightly. He never imagined that he would find the Beyonder in the Imperial Palace.
True to his word, even Ibadon might not have known what it was used for and would have ignored it for a very long time.
But based on his calculations, that machine had been parked there within ten to fifteen million years ago.
When he grabbed it, no one even knew it was gone as they were busy with the war.
"We assumed you would be going yourself?" The tortoise said, "Now, you are sending a tiger.
Do you think we can’t see that you have warped his mind?
No matter where he goes, he will never experience true freedom unless he comes back to you.
Seth, do you know the consequences of what you are trying to do?"
The tortoise voice crashed down on Seth.
