Chapter 733: Chapter 733: First Generation Of The All-King’s Era.

Quin’s eyes focused on the formless soul that was now inching away after all the new immortal kings had risen.

His eyes, without his control, gave off that ferocious predatory glint, even though his internal state at the moment was one of confusion rather than intent to kill something.

Quin was fascinated by the internal workings of his new body. He could see that things were a bit different than before. His telomeres, which he could easily observe with his introspective senses, were made new.

They were long and the ends were fused together, creating an infinity symbol. Right now, his body was filled with these infinity symbol-shaped telomeres.

At the same time, his chromosomes had also changed and gained some extra features.

Normally, mortal lions have thirty-eight chromosomes that are arranged in nineteen pairs.

But now, Quin’s body had gained an extra thirty-eight chromosomes which were different from the mortal chromosomes.

Quin’s memories flashed to something he had heard Memphis talking about multiple times.

Back when Memphis was still a mortal, she had employed some forbidden techniques to keep herself alive for a much longer time.

That technique also involved doubling her chromosomes.

Well, it wasn’t exactly doubling as Memphis was only trying to mimic the immortality of the immortals without actually being one.

What she created were things called Chronosomes. Chronosomes and Chromosomes were different as the former was explicitly created to provide longevity.

Not only were those Chronosomes not the real deal, but they were also unstable.

Now that Quin had evolved and gotten his new set of Chromosomes, he could see the difference.

His new sets of Chromosomes worked together with infinity-shaped telomeres to provide him with eternal life; they were also a source of immortal energy.

Infinity and eternity.

Quin flexed his digits, feeling his claws easily piercing through the veil of nothingness.

He could accurately sense many things like the eighty-eight other new immortals and the formless soul in front of him.

Quin could also sense that his heavenly beacon was no longer present in his body. But that didn’t matter. Destroying his body would definitely have caused the heavenly beacon to become ownerless.

Not even his soul, which was bound to the heavenly beacon, had been able to keep it as even his soul had nearly been ripped apart by the wave of oblivion that swept him away.

That was when Quin realised something.

The abyssal hue and the distant golden horizon finally registered in Quin’s mind.

So many lions and lionesses had died.

What kind of casualty rate was this?

Quin glanced at the transparent golden screen that appeared in front of him. The population of the lions linked to the lion’s system was public knowledge.

There was no use hiding it from the kings.

Quin could see that the population of lions had diminished by a shocking amount.

What was left?

A measly two hundred billion plus.

Two hundred and ninety-six billion lions were left to be exact.

Out of eight hundred billion plus that existed before.

How?

Almost one hundred billion lions and lionesses had already died before this battle with Ibadon.

If calculated, it would mean that from the moment Ibadon started fighting the lion swarm, to the moment of the crystal throne’s explosion, about five hundred billion lions and lionesses were killed.

’Damn...’

Quin felt weak all of a sudden.

Even with that population of close to eight hundred billion, the Leonine Heaven still did not feel that crowded.

Now, they have been reduced to a pitifully low number. For a cosmic faction, this was a very low population value.

In fact, this would have been enough for them to lose their cosmic faction status. Thankfully, they had just gained a few immortals at the best time possible.

Either way, this was a seriously massive loss.

As for those who had survived this? Most of them were those who were beyond the central coverage, so it didn’t reach them.

Many had still been fighting some of the hard-to-kill invading dragons and others just never made it in time, fortunately for them.

Perhaps, if Kael had known what Ibadon was planning, he wouldn’t have summoned so many lions to swarm Ibadon.

Those lions would thank their lucky stars that the Conquering Essence reserves ran out at the exact time they did.

Then there were also some lions that had been in the mortalverse doing various things.

The adventure group that Chloe was leading was still in the mortalverse. They were close to a million in numbers by now and a good number of them were also very powerful.

Their collective desire to go on an adventure and roam the universe was what saved them.

There were also those few princes and lords who had not been recalled back to heaven on time.

Also, one should not forget the participants of the Consort Trial who had a high number.

All of them were still in the mortalverse searching for Primordials. Although the consorts of the All-King had made it clear through bloody means that they wouldn’t just let anyone into their family, there was still hope of becoming a consort of the other kings or powerful princes.

Their little competition for status and a better life was what saved them.

But what did this mean from now on?

How were they meant to keep on going with all these losses?

If one removed the new immortals from the equation, then the lion civilization had received the biggest loss ever.

And where was the All-King? Obviously obliterated too even though he was also very powerful.

But, the lion system was still active.

////

Quin: All-King, are you there?

///

Quin sent the message with caution. He had only chatted with the All-King a few times and those times were because the All-King started the conversation first.

Even now that he was an immortal, he still had an ingrained reverence for the All-King.

Thankfully, there was a response.

///

All-King: Don’t worry about me, exterminate the abomination immediately!

Kael’s message came with an atmosphere of urgency. It was clear that even though he had somehow survived, he was not capable of doing anything to kill Ibadon.

Wherever he was, he must have seen the first eleven immortals get devoured by Ibadon. That too was a significant loss.

Quin was not the only one to receive this message. The other eighty-eight new immortal lions also received the message.

Instantly, their gaze grew sharp as they focused on the formless soul.

Ibadon, sensing the combined killing intent from all the immortals instantly dashed away.

Things just became way harder.

However, Ibadon underestimated the hate from these lions or he overestimated his strength.

He had barely crossed one light year with his speed when a claw flashed in front of him.

So fast.

Quin was upon Ibadon before the latter could understand what was happening.

Just because he was in his soul form didn’t mean he was immune to physical forces. In fact, he was more vulnerable in this form.

A hundred claw flashes, Ibadon managed to dodge most of them but a few nicked at the edges of his soul body, drastically reducing his size.

Before anyone knew it, all the majestic immortals had cornered Ibadon from all angles.

There was no way for Ibadon to escape now without being absolutely destroyed by one of them.

"What do we do with him? Should we be the ones to do it?" One of the lions with a fabulous greyish blue mane asked as his eyes brimmed with spirit energy.

Quin wore a dangerously cold expression on his face, "It doesn’t matter.

If the All-King cared about that, he wouldn’t have asked us to eliminate him ourselves."

Quin did not wait for the confirmation from his colleagues before launching himself at Ibadon with outstretched paws and sharp claws.

Seeing all the lions pouncing at him at the same time, Ibadon was indignant.

How could he die now?

This wasn’t how he wanted it.

He had sacrificed everything to kill them all, he had not yet completed his revenge.

He refused to die!

"No! I cannot die! Get back!" Ibadon commanded aggressively as his soul let out a wave of oblivion.

Unfortunately for him, head lost most of his strength and he was at best as strong as a weak tier 7 at this point.

The wave of oblivion merely brushed past the bodies of Quin and the rest without doing anything.

On this day, Ibadon’s soul was ripped to shreds by the First Generation of Immortals of the All-King’s era.

When they were done, the unwilling roar of the abomination echoed into the depths of the void as that was the only thing he could leave behind in the world of the living.

Even his soul was destroyed. There was no hope of him ever reincarnating.

This was the end indeed.

An abomination that quietly brought terror to the lion race for the last ten million years was no more.

The mistakes of the predecessor were now cleansed.

Noel was avenged.

Still, that question refused to leave the minds of the new Immortals.

Where was the All-King?
