Chapter 519: Chapter 519: Time Travel Gets The Universe’s Attention

"We’ve almost arrived at our destination," Memphis said as she turned her attention to the doorway to the side of the room.

She began to walk toward it, carrying with her a calm demeanor like someone who had finally arrived at her home and felt at peace.

"Wait, you still haven’t explained what you mean by Time Machine. I don’t understand," Kael said as he started following Memphis.

Exalon and Katari moved, following after them in silence like bodyguards.

Memphis passed through the doorway to enter another room that had a long window pane on the left. This window pane allowed them to see the outside of the vessel they were in.

The passing multicoloured kaleidoscope tapestry of the void, the flashing neutron stars, the backyard black holes, the countless floating continents, and the mini planets.

Through the window pane, other things could be seen. Two arkships were currently flying at warp speed and keeping up with the speed of Memphis’s vehicle.

They maintained a distance that allowed them to be no bigger than a baby’s head in Kael’s view.

"It’s a time machine, it’s meant to travel through the original timeline of the universe," Memphis said.

"Huh?" Kael was confused, he didn’t know anything about time before and the best demonstration he had heard of time power was when Ma’abu froze time at the Eridoria Star System.

He was not yet familiar with those terminologies and even Ozia didn’t know all these things beforehand.

Memphis walked to the window, eyes the two arkships that were following them from the side. She knew that these two arkships were not the only ones following them.

A secret force had been established within a few minutes that her arrived to protect Kael.

She didn’t know how it was possible as she didn’t sense Kael using telepathy to send out a large-scale message.

How was it then possible that Kael had assembled a force of one hundred arkships and lion kings so quietly that even those at the Massive Black Pyramid did not notice it at all?

Memphis did not know just how effective the mission feature was in the lion system.

All Kale had to do was send out private missions with rewards that were too juicy to turn down to one hundred lion kings.

The mission had a description of what was to be done and required secrecy as they were not to tell anyone about the mission even when they started.

It was a very amazing power that Kael had no mind abusing to the limits.

Power like this was what made him so bold in front of Memphis and King Vander.

"I’ve tested this Time Machine, operated it a few times," Memphis said as her green eyes were reflected off the surface of the window panel.

"It might not work the way you think.

First, I’ve never been able to travel to the future. My theory is that time travel to the future is inherently impossible because the future is not something that has happened yet.

Time travel to the future is like trying to walk on a road that doesn’t exist, we’d just fall off and die.

That theory led me to believe that our timeline is not as complicated as we sometimes make it out to be.

The present exists because it is meant to exist as it is. The only true timeline is what we are experiencing now at this very moment.

However, I was actually able to travel to the past with the machine, but not in the way you think.

I could travel ten years, a hundred years, or even one thousand years into the past was not impossible.

The creators of the machine were truly incredible. I can’t even begin to imagine how their mind worked for them to be able to think of such a thing.

But, when I travel back in time, I can’t interact with anything. The time machine becomes invisible to the world and I am forced to stay inside.

If I try to come out of the time machine, the universe will automatically crush me easily to protect the integrity of the timeline.

Not to mention that I noticed with every trip I did back to the past, the universe seemed to be paying more attention to me and it seemed like an executioner’s blade was hanging over my neck.

I don’t know how long I could but I suspected that there was a limit to how many times I could travel through time before the universe does anything in retaliation.

It was through this process that I found out why it’s so hard for us time lions and lionesses to travel back in time without killing ourselves in the process.

It turns out it’s a universal rule.

So yeah, it is a time machine, just not the really helpful type.

Unless you’re trying to investigate something that happened at a particular place and a particular time, it’s not really worth it."

At the end of Memphis’s words, her tone dropped and her voice became a little bit deeper and firmer. It was like she had come to accept a serious fate for herself.

"Are you still feeling the universe’s attention on you?" Kael asked.

"Yes," Memphis nodded, "I’m fact, it has gotten stronger since I met you."

"Wait, what?" Kael frowned and raised his eyebrows at the same time.

"We’re here," Memphis announced and immediately walked away, intentionally not elaborating on the last thing she said.

Kael had an ugly expression on his face.

"Kael?" Katari came beside him and called out telepathically.

"Stay vigilant," Kael ordered before walking out too.

Exalon stalled a bit, waiting for everyone to be out of view. He looked around dodgily, checking if anyone or anything could be around to observe him.

After checking and being sure that there was nothing, Exalon dashed back to the room they were in previously.

Memphis had left the bottle of wine behind and had ’forgotten’ to keep it in her secure compartment behind the wall.

Exalon dismissed the existence of all those other wines and focused his attention on this half-empty bottle.

His large frame hunched over the panel as he gently reached out for the bottle. He thought about pouring himself a cup...

"Nah," He thought to himself and started drinking the wine directly from the bottle.

Exalon’s yellow eyes brightened and his pupils dilated.

"Exalon?" Kael’s telepathic voice resounded in his head at this time, bringing Exalon out of this embarrassing state.

Exalon hurriedly rushed out of the room with a serious expression, but the wine bottle was still held firmly in his grasp.

"I’m coming," He responded as he rushed outside.
