Chapter 230: The Crimson Sovereign’s Weakness

After solidifying our plans to counter Lilith’s spatial magic, the conversation shifted naturally to an even more pressing matter: the Three Strongest Demon Overlords.

I stepped forward and began with a grim expression.

"Nosef Vermoryth, the Demon Overlord ranked third... He’s a sadistic psychopath who kills not out of necessity, but for sheer amusement." My voice tightened as memories of our battle surfaced."He’s obsessed with his blood magic. He can manipulate the blood of the corpses he kills, twisting it into deadly weapons. Worse, once you’re struck by his spell, your own blood becomes tainted by his magic—turning into a slow-acting poison against your body."

A silence fell over the room until Magi Silvanya spoke up, her voice calm but serious.

"What he says is true," she said, glancing around at the others. "When I fought Nosef, I shielded myself with silver-element magic. It didn’t matter. His blood magic was too fast, too flexible—it broke through my defenses and injured me."

She paused, frowning as she recalled the sensation.

"Once it enters your body, his blood magic begins to paralyze you from within. It scrambles your mana flow... It’s likely what caused Princess Aria’s dramatic drop in magical output during her battle with him. She sustained far too many injuries from his cursed magic."

At the mention of Aria, King Aslan’s face darkened. He clenched his fists on the table, his jaw tight with rage. His daughter’s defeat—and the coma that followed—still haunted him.

Sensing the rising tension, I quickly opened the [Akashic Record] and projected new data into the air for everyone to see.

"Everyone, please. I understand the threat, but I’ve also found his weakness. According to the Akashic Record, Nosef’s blood magic has a very specific vulnerability..."

All eyes turned to me.

"Extreme temperatures," I said. "Specifically, fire magic. And to bolster its effect—we can pair it with divine magic as support."

Suddenly, Cain von Flamemore, the Hero of Flame and Swordmaster of the Flamemore lineage, raised his voice.

"That’s impossible!" he snapped. "I wield the strongest fire magic of our generation, and Aria possessed divine magic. Even together, we couldn’t defeat him!"

I looked at him and smiled softly.

"Then allow me to ask, Cain—why are you still alive, when you suffered wounds nearly as grave as Aria’s and my father’s? They fell into comas... but you didn’t."

Cain’s eyes widened. The room went quiet.

"You survived because your flame magic never ceased," I continued. "Even while wounded, your body continued to burn from within—purging the blood poison little by little."

Cain slowly lowered his gaze, realization dawning.

"You’re right... I kept releasing fire mana continuously... it was the only thing that kept me conscious."

I nodded.

"Exactly. Nosef’s blood magic is vulnerable to intense heat. The Akashic Record confirms this: the toxins, bacteria, and magical viruses infused in his spells degrade rapidly in extreme temperatures. Fire magic disrupts his blood’s integrity—breaking it down at the cellular level."

Gasps and murmurs spread through the room.

"And divine magic?" asked Saintess softly.

"Divine magic is highly effective as a secondary support," I said. "It doesn’t counteract the blood directly like fire does, but it deals persistent spiritual damage to Nosef. Think of it as corrosion—slow, steady, but undeniable."

I took a deep breath and smiled.

"The answer is clear. We need a fusion—Divine Fire Magic. That will be our most effective weapon against Nosef."

Cain furrowed his brow, skeptical.

"Divine Fire...? That’s a fantasy. Fire is a destructive element. Divine magic is sacred, calm, and precise. They don’t mix."

In my mind the reason I said that was because I had experienced divine fire magic from the fire god Flareth.

In addition, the gods and goddesses could also use it, so I thought that humans could possibly do it too.

When I wanted to answer it, Salvador-sama suddenly said "Theoretically, merging elements is possible. But no mortal has ever successfully achieved it."

I nodded listening to his explanation.

Then Arsene, calm and analytical, spoke for the first time.

"It might be feasible... if we use a magical transference technique. Divine energy could be transferred into an elemental host, but it depends entirely on compatibility."

She folded her arms.

"Not everyone is suited for divine magic. Experimentation will be necessary."

From across the room, Carlos von Flamemore, Cain’s father, finally spoke.

"Actually, the familiars of our family—Salamander and Phoenix—both possess innate divine fire. But..." He sighed. "No Flamemore heir has ever unlocked their full potential."

Cain looked down, frustrated.

"That’s true... I still can’t fully control Salamander. And Freya... she’s the same with Phoenix."

I took a step forward.

"Then let me help you."

Everyone looked up.

"I will personally train you and the other heroes to master your familiars," I said firmly. "That includes Cain, Freya, Serena, and anyone willing to learn."

Serena, Theresia, and Raius-sama all reacted immediately.

"You’re serious?!" Theresia cried, leaping up with joy.

Raius-sama nodded silently, a rare smile playing on his lips.

Serena, always composed, gave me a warm smile.

"Then I’ll wait patiently... but I’ll be expecting results."

Her smile made me blush a little, and I returned it without thinking.

Then a soft voice came from beside me.

"I’ll join as well."

It was Amelia, her silver hair gleaming under the light.

"I’ll inherit the Braveheart family familiar. The one my father, King Aslan, once wielded."

King Aslan stepped forward and placed a hand on her shoulder.

"That’s right. I’ve entrusted Hyperion to her—a divine beast. She has the potential to command divine magic like no other."

He turned to me.

"I’ll support your training efforts. I’m the only person in the kingdom who’s ever bonded fully with a divine familiar. You and the other heroes need to learn what that truly means."

I bowed my head in gratitude.

"Thank you, Your Majesty. I accept your help."

With a cold smile curling on her lips, Amelia turned to me and said, "So that means I can train with you too, right? My dear fiancé, Naoki..."

I let out a soft sigh."Alright, alright..." I replied wearily, scratching the back of my head.

But before the mood could settle, a sharp voice cut through the air.

Cain stood up, his expression stern.

"Wait just a moment. How can you be so sure you’re capable of training the heroes to master their familiars?"

Ah, there it was. I’d been expecting that. Cain’s pride as a swordsman and a noble was well-known—he wouldn’t accept just anyone as his instructor.

I gave a small chuckle.

"I thought you’d say that."

Then I looked down at Runa, who was comfortably sitting on my lap.

"Runa. Let’s show them."

Without hesitation, Runa leapt up and in a flash of shadowy mist, transformed into a small black cat. She gracefully climbed atop my head, curling around like a crown of darkness.

Cain raised an eyebrow and chuckled mockingly.

"A cat? That’s supposed to impress me?"

But then, the room dimmed. Shadows expanded across the floor as Runa began to change once more—her body enlarging rapidly until she towered over the room.

In the span of seconds, she had taken the form of a two-tailed Nekomata, each tail radiating dark, ancient energy. Her form spanned nearly a quarter of the council chamber, her piercing gaze silencing the room.

Everyone froze. Awe and fear swept through the gathered leaders.

Then suddenly, Magi Silvanya gasped and stood from her seat, eyes wide.

"That’s her! That’s the familiar who saved me during the last war!" she shouted.

Her eyes locked on Runa’s towering form.

"Cain—you should remember her too. She saved all of us!"

Cain frowned.

"I don’t remember anything from back then... I was unconscious..."

The tension eased slightly as Cain finally sighed and crossed his arms.

"Fine. I was wrong." He muttered reluctantly. "I apologize... but just where did you get that familiar?"

His question echoed the same curiosity now visible on every face in the room—King Aslan, the Saintess, Leopold, Serena, and the others all leaned forward slightly.

I smiled, resting my hand on Runa’s massive form.

"Runa wasn’t something I found. She was given to me—by the gods themselves."

Whispers spread among the council.

"She’s a divine gift... a familiar infused with the power of Dark Magic. Her nature complements my soul perfectly. But she is no mere summon or servant."I looked at her with pride.

"She’s my partner. My comrade. Runa Nox."

With that, Runa shifted once more, her massive form condensing back into her human shape. She walked over shyly, her cheeks tinged red, and nestled back into my lap.

"Thank you... Master," she whispered.

A long silence filled the room. Then Arsene stood and placed her hand on the map.

"With this, it’s settled. Cain, along with magic knights like Freya, Leopold, and other fire-based mages will be trained by me and King Aslan to counter Nosef, and Saintess will assist in developing Divine Buff enchantments."

Saintess nodded warmly.

"Divine energy can be channeled with training. It will take time, but it can be done—especially with motivated warriors."

I nodded.

The mood shifted again—purpose returning to everyone’s eyes. The pieces were falling into place. The war against Nosef would be planned meticulously—with magic, strategy, and unity.

But before anyone could relax, I felt a chill run down my spine.

"Now, onto our next threat..." I said, flipping the next page of the Akashic Record.

The lights dimmed as a new name appeared in glowing text above the table:

Lucius Velzareth

Demon Overlord Rank 2

The Light and Darkness Sovereign

This room turned gloomy again, especially seeing the expression of the Starlight family representative.

I have to overcome this.
