Reincarnated As A Dragon With Cheats-Chapter 45: Piles Of Corpses
Chapter 45: Piles Of Corpses
It was already noon.
The shaman was ready with some plan and wanted to eagerly tell Pebbles about it, but he was nowhere to be found.
Azeth and Azatoth were also missing.
"He was so cool. When both their punches collided, boom. I was blown back!"
"Hehe, yes. And how they jumped so high... I want to jump that high too. Maybe I can then touch the sky and meet granny."
"Psst, as if you’ll ever jump that high."
"Hmp, I will."
Two goblin children were bickering with each other and talking about the small battle.
Naturally, she was interested.
She approached them. "Kids, what are you talking about?"
The moment the goblins noticed her, they flinched.
"Erm..." the male one scratched his head while the female child had a hard time maintaining a gaze with the shaman.
"Ah..." she put the mask that had rested in her hand back on her face.
The female goblin finally looked up. "Erm, the guests were doing a small fight and we were talking about that."
The shaman gave a chuckle and ruffled their hair after moving her left hand.
"Is that so? Do you know where they went?"
The male child replied, "Erm, to the river."
She paused. Her pupil constricted when she heard that.
"No..." she whispered under her breath and she instantly turned around.
The river that the child had mentioned was a territory of various beasts. It especially belonged to the Frog-Men that hunted any who even came close to it.
She started sprinting almost instantly and then levitated in the air only to jump on the huts to use them as stepping stones as she rushed as fast as she could.
And as she left, a gust of wind blew that pushed the male goblin child a bit back. "Wow, so cool," he said as his hair fluttered.
The female child had sparkles in her eyes. "Eh? She jumped even higher!"
The male child pulled up his index finger and waved it left and right. "Tsk tsk, she can fly. Did you forget?"
The female child formed a fist. "Now I want to be like her! Jump that high!"
"Err... she was flying..."
"I will jump and jump and reach the sky!"
The male goblin could only facepalm himself. "She’s a lost case..."
Meanwhile...
"Fuck you, you bloody pieces of mud shits!!!"
Azeth and Azatoth had launched a full-out attack on the Frog-Men.
It all happened when Pebbles thought of a small plan.
Atuk wouldn’t come out so easily, so he’d planned to simply kill a few Frog-Men and go back.
He’d get his levels done and the plan would also go smoothly.
He had to reduce their numbers too, but all he did was sit on the branch of an old tree as Azeth and Azatoth did the work.
He gave a specific command, "Leave them half dead. Don’t kill them completely, okay?"
Since their previous duel had come to a standstill, he gave a better motivation, "Whoever brings me more half-dead Frog-Men wins."
The shaman had arrived just in time to witness the scene.
A pile of Frog-Men had been gathered to his left and a pile to his right. Both seemed of equal height.
"Ahem." Again, Pebbles expected some ten to twenty kills in total. There seemed more than double of that in each pile!
The shaman had leapt onto the branch of the same tree where Pebbles had been previously sitting.
He was now on the ground, digging his claws into the chests of the Frog-Men as he ripped their hearts out.
"Ribbit... Riiibbittt... spare us... please..."
"Ribbittt... lord... save me..."
"Brother... brother... where are you, brother..."
Galg!
Gulp!
Ugulp!
Blurggg!
One by one, he kept finishing them up and kept accumulating EXP.
Ding!
[Congratulations. You have leveled up!]
[Lv.9 → Lv.10]
Pebbles could see the fear in their eyes.
The words "half dead" were very unclear, and what Azeth and Azatoth had done was render them immobile.
While most had lost consciousness, many had simply lost their limbs completely.
Only their bodies remained, and as their blue blood covered their glistening red skin, Pebbles continued the massacre as he simply didn’t care.
He’d killed forty-five Frog-Men who were Lv.15 and below from the right pile that belonged to Azatoth and forty-four Frog-Men of comparable levels from the left pile.
Ding!
[You have leveled up]
[You have leveled up]
[You have leveled up]
[You have leveled up]
[Lv.13 → Lv.14]
Pebbles could feel the difference in his strength as his stats rose, but he didn’t ponder much. He had finished the task quite mercilessly and then decided to do something.
He looked up and called out, "Come down, will you?"
The shaman felt a weird gaze and jumped instantly. "Your Highness?"
"Do you know how to write?"
She paused. She knew how to write, but what help would that be?
"Don’t tell me..." her eye widened when she thought of it and raised her gaze.
"Would you write a phrase for me, on the ground?"
"..."
"The phrase is: It was fun killing your people. If you want more to die, why don’t you try attacking the goblin village nearby? I’ll be waiting for you. My name? Well, it’s Pebbles... or something similar?"
The shaman lowered her gaze.
It was the first time she was learning the name of the Supreme One. The same was true for Azeth and Azatoth. It was their first time too, so it was a bit shocking in two senses.
Why did someone so powerful have such a simple name? Why be named after stones? It was not like he was an Earth dragon... even if he was, such a name was absolutely embarrassing.
Azeth was given a grand name and so was Azatoth, so both of them felt their master’s name was a bit... dull.
But none dared to ask.
The shaman did as she was told.
She dug her claw into the bodies of the Frog-Men and drew enough blood as she started writing.
No, she didn’t simply write it on the ground.
She wrote it on the tree barks as she moved forward.
It was in the common "monster-tongue," a language that most intelligent monsters could understand.
When the Frog-Men would surface to the outside and move towards the village, the sentences would be revealed one by one. This was a move to infuriate them even more...
"Done. I’m done, Your Highness..." the shaman turned back after finishing the job when she noticed...
The piles of corpses had vanished.
"Eh?"
She’d thought she could use them as food for the goblins, but now since the bodies vanished, she felt perplexed.
Moreover, how could they just vanish out of nowhere...?
It was not as if they were Elder Lake who had a mind skill to store anything...
Except, Pebbles did have one. An inventory.
And so did Azeth, he had a Purge skill.
"Don’t worry, the food is safe." Sensing her distress, Pebbles cleared it out as he walked back with all of them to the village.
They were going to have a feast tonight.
