Regressor's Harem Of Vengeance-Chapter 36. Harvest Festival [2]: A Chat With Mom.
Feeling confident about their dance now, Ray wrapped his arm a little tighter around Mira’s waist before pulling her closer to him.
Her massive E-Cup marshmallows were now squashed against his chest while he had a really good look at her eyes, and definitely not her amazing cleavage.
Mira looked up at him, still smiling and blushing at how bold Ray was being in public.
The two remained dancing as the festival carried on with music and laughter echoing throughout the village, along with the sweet aroma of roasted food.
Mira moved closer to him and the two danced until the music changed into something faster.
However, Emma suddenly appeared out of nowhere to drag Mira into a group dance with some other village girls.
They both giggled with the rest of the girls as they jumped and danced in rhythm to the loud and fast music.
Meanwhile, Ray stood at the edge of the dancing area, watching as Mira laughed and spun around with Emma.
Seeing the two being so happy and excited at the moment filled Ray’s heart with a soothing sense of warmth he hadn’t felt in years.
A smile graced his lips as he made a mental vow to live happily with his family when everything was all over.
But while Ray had been lost in his own thoughts, Helen approached him before handing him a cup of honeyed mead.
"Thanks, mom."
"You’re welcome, dear," Helen replied as she sipped from her cup.
Helen lifted her gaze and noticed Mira still dancing and laughing with Emma, and she couldn’t help but smile as she watched the two of them.
"She’s wonderful, you know," Helen said to Ray while glancing at Mira.
"I know."
"And you too. You’ve brought a huge smile to their faces."
"How so?" Ray asked.
"Thanks to you, Mira’s more confident in herself, and now everyone in our house is smiling and we’re all really happy. You stay at home every morning, working on the farm and doing as much as you can. Then you leave once it’s noon to hunt monsters before returning with silver and gold after selling their body parts. We see what you’re doing Ray, and thanks to you, everyone in the house feels relieved, happy, and proud. You’re taking care of the three of us so much and we honestly, can’t thank you enough."
"It’s nothing Mom. We’re a family. So it’s the least I could do."
"Well, we’re grateful dear and that’s never going to change," Helen emphasized to him before taking another sip of her honeyed mead. "Now stop staring at your beautiful girlfriend and go get something to eat. You’ve been practicing and training a lot recently, you look so thin now."
Ray smiled and nodded in understanding.
He watched Mira and Emma a bit more before turning around to find something to eat.
And so, the festival continued with laughter and excitement echoing around every corner.
The festival lasted for three days and Ray allowed himself to enjoy every moment of it, including the food, the hugs, the kisses, and the laughter he shared with his family.
Doing all these really touched Ray’s heart because in his first timeline, he hadn’t been around during the Harvest Festival.
He had already been recruited by a beautiful priestess from the capital city, informing him that it was his destiny and blah blah blah to serve the great hero Aldric and his fellow party members.
Back then, during the Harvest Festival, Ray had been too busy working hard to impress the elite warrior party, but now that the priestess had yet to arrive for whatever reason, Ray was pleased to have the opportunity to spend these past three days with his family.
It allowed him to create some beautiful and fun memories with them. 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
Ray definitely cherished these moments and he wouldn’t forget them anytime soon.
Anyway, this was how the first two weeks came to an end.
In the third week of his preparation for Baron Harvard’s arrival, Ray resumed his training with Mira again.
Since he had already advanced to Level 10 and had already absorbed some pretty good overpowered skills, Ray thought it would be wise to acclimate himself with his newly acquired skills before the Baron and his men arrived.
And so, he continued his training with Mira every morning, but this time, their training was a little different.
Unlike the previous general combat training that they had grown used to carrying out, now their training included coordination drills, along with how to move together in tight spaces and how to signal each other without speaking.
They also practiced how to cover each other’s blind spots and Ray taught Mira how to use a bow and arrow, in case they ever needed to use it from an elevated position during combat.
Be it from a tree branch, hillside, or a rooftop, Ray taught Mira how to shoot at her targets without hesitation.
The training was rough and hard, but Mira worked really hard to learn everything she needed to know.
She was a fast learner.
She always had been, and it really made Ray proud of the improvement he was seeing.
In the afternoons, Ray would scout alone, further away from the village to map the road he believed Harvard and his men would likely travel through.
He tried to identify the perfect location for this and he was able to find it on the fifth day of the third week.
It was a narrow road that was three hours north of Thornsville, but it was a path that seemed squeezed between two steep forested hillsides.
The road was barely enough for a single wagon but Ray was certain that Harvard and his men would be passing through that path because of how close it was to the village compared to the other pathways.
