Regressing Through the Apocalypse with the Third Male Lead-Chapter 48: Volume 2 -
Chapter 48: Volume 2: Chapter 48
The village was now peaceful, everyone woke up early for the tasks. The smell was awful—With their nose and mouth covered with a makeshift face mask, The villagers, led by Eman and the others, were now starting the cleaning up of the dead zombies and the Gargantuas, making sure that everything was dead. taking precautions.
A huge hole was dug far from where the walls are where they started to gather all the zombies and later they will have it burn into dust and cover it again with soil.
Eman with his lead, managing everyone as they do their job so they would not miss anything, meanwhile Harley and the others were double checking to make sure that the zombies are really dead before the villager could approach and carry them.
"this one is dead for sure" Harley poking the head of one of the zombies to another with Cheral and Cherellyn.
"Yeah, yeah"
"we’ll pick them up"
Eman approached them,
"After this side, go to where the other is, so we could finish early before the dark came" He ordered which the three nodded.
"okay!"
"We will go there after this"
The clean up continued, Freyah was examining the fallen walls with Monica and Gwenette who seemed to tail around her ever since the battle ended. Making sure to keep track of their bestfriend moves after all, Freyah still didn’t rest since the battle ended; she just cleaned herself and as if she had never gotten tired.
"We should really enhance the wall’s strength, right?" Gwenette suggests while picking up some rock and throwing it mindlessly.
Monica nodded, while Freyah was looking from afar.
"Indeed, the walls are so weak that they get destroyed easily. We needed a strong wall but hopefully we don’t have another encounter with danger," Monica sighs and sits down at one of big rocks while looking at the wrecked walls.
On the other hand, Uncle Thomas and the others are also busy cleaning up on their side, which was a mess of tiktiks and hordes of dead zombies. They were also wearing some makeshift face masks to fight the awful smell coming from the dead.
"We should dig another hole, Thomas" One of his men spoke pointing at where they were filing the dead, it was already full.
Thomas nodded and pointed at the other part, "there. Make it fast we couldn’t afford any delay" He spoke firmly and continued lifting some dead bodies throwing them to the pit with ease and so everyone continued all busy and focused on their job.
Florene, who just came out of his room after his rest, examined everyone, they’re all doing great teamwork. He remembered back to his world where everyone was used to doing the same, it’s lucky for them that no one was gravely injured at the last fight.
Florence headed towards where everyone is. To help watch their work, they could probably finish everything before sunset came, so tomorrow they could focus on reconstructing the walls.

Unknown place, not introduced yet.
A dimly lit place with only the lights coming from the candles, with water covering the ground. The sound of heavy footsteps was echoing along with the sound of water being stepped on, looking at the place as if it was an underground.
An altar was made to the center where multiple big candles stand, they were never melting, despite the enclosed placed an eerie cold air circulate around it.
Three personnel covered in their cloak stand beneath the altar, arguing about something.
"She’s not dead!"
"How could they purify it!?"
"We failed!"
"It could not be that hard to kill her!"
"She’s just a girl"
"those monsters should have easily eliminated her!"
"What could have gone wrong!"
"Freyah Lima should be exterminated, we can’t afford to waste time"
"she supposed to be dead"
"we couldn’t waste any time"
"you know what will happen"
"if she make it out alive then you’re the one who’ll be dead"
"So you are, you should destroy her the moment you got the chance"
The voices were multiple, full of anger, panic and fear as it echoed to the place, desperate to have Freyah killed, then again another footsteps echoed, a cloaked personality stopped and genuflected to the first people talking. Then looked up to them with menace.
The three look down waiting for him to speak.
"I know what could we do"
"Speak"
"I should posses someone, there, i could go come on my own and kill Freyah at once"
"possessing?"
"That’s impossible!"
"I know but I know a spell"
"Tch! Nonsense! It would take your life to do that"
"It wouldn’t"
The three first people whisper with each other again before turning to him again.
"But what if you fail?"
"i wouldn’t" giving them a firm answer.
The cloaked person arose and then turned his back to them and started to leave again with a mysterious glint on his eyes, the other people continued their whispers.
"If she succeed, everything will go smoothly "

Back at the village,
Half of the horde was already cleaned and everyone took a break. They could have finished it faster but the awful smell was in their way but they didn’t need to rush that fast anyways. Unless another danger spark.
Meanwhile, Florence had decided to visit where Paula was currently in. She was still unconscious but her complexion was looking better now. A child like her wouldn’t withstand that strong power if she really had turned into a demon.
What could possibly turn her like that? Who could do such a thing to a kid? Why would they try to use someone for the sake of killing Freyah.
Florence sighs deeply, he couldn’t understand it. He sat there lost in thoughts, the more he dug deeper the more he was feeling something. Fear? Fear of what? He never felt this feeling for so long.
There’s something more to this than just simply wanting Freyah to die, he was starting to feel uneasy being connected with Freyah by the soul contract and the danger that surrounds her, Florence can sense the pressure inside her.
There was someone out there who was desperate to eliminate her, but why? Why would someone want Freyah gone, what does it mean when those voices spoke about Freyah destroying the world when she literally came back from the future. What is really happening? Did Freyah know about it? And the most important thing was who it was that was trying to kill her.
They wouldn’t really know unless they got the chance to talk to Paula, hopefully she would remember it, maybe then some questions could be answered.

The construction team with new found energy immediately started reconstructing the wall with more enhanced tools, making it stronger than the first one. The wall was partnered with more advanced defenses, Now they know the strength of a level seven evolved zombie.
They would just have to add more strength 5 times the last one to build a more powerful defense.
On the other side everyone is still busy cleaning up, with everyone’s teamwork they are moving faster. Thomas had started to burn the pit of the dead, making a signal that their side was already cleaned and would quarantine his men after double checking everyone.
A quarantine will help to check for everyone’s health condition but this was for all the people involved in fighting.
The smoke had reached Eman and he too started to ignite a fire to burn the dead to their side, went to a safe distance and after this just like Timothy every villager involved will be quarantined for three days and will do safety procedures to ensure everyone safety.
Freyah was pleased by everyone’s teamwork as she watched with Monica and Gwenette. Everything was going smoothly almost as if something would definitely happen again.
"You guys stay to manage things, I’m going to Florence" she declared and jumped to the ground. Monica and Gwenette have a teasing look at each other as they watch Freyah go back.
"You know if I didn’t know any better I would really think something is going on between them" Monica giggles which makes Gwenette giggles too, both looking like a fool.
"I know right, Haha," Gwenette agreed. Giving Monica a friendly slap in her shoulder while still both giggling.
"But I kinda know where this is going, I read it a couple times" Monica shrugged again while Gwenette laughed even more.
"Shh, don’t say that hahaha, I mean there’s a lot of chances it won’t go that way"
Gwenette chuckles, the two continue talking without a care in the world about their friend’s love life.
"Yeah yeah, I mean in this apocalypse and Freyah’s seriousness" Monica sighs,
"I just wish she should take a break and rest," Gwenette nodded in agreement.
"yes, she’s strong but I hope she’s not pushing her limits"
The two then went to manage around, As everyone already finished their task and sunset slowly set in.
