Chapter 133: Chapter 133: Was Her Child Stolen?

"I just don’t want his life or death to have anything to do with me."

Raine Sinclair stubbornly threw out the words, then turned around, refusing to look at the man lying on the bed.

As long as he’s not dead...

"Is the child Jonas Hawthorne’s?" John Franklin asked again.

Raine Sinclair frowned slightly, then slowly nodded, "Yes."

"There’s no other way then." John Franklin curled his lips, half-smiling, "For the sake of my future nephew, I have to save him."

Raine Sinclair was stunned for a moment, just about to say something when a call suddenly came from the doorway.

"Where is my grandson? Take me to see my grandson quickly!"

It was Silas Linton!

Raine Sinclair instinctively wanted to hide, but as she glanced around the room, although it wasn’t small, it was wide open with no place to hide!

And the voice was just outside the door, about to come in. Even if she wanted to slip out the door, it was impossible!

She quickly looked up at John Franklin, her big eyes full of a plea written all over them: Brother, save me!

In contrast to her panic, John Franklin was much more composed.

He motioned for her to hide behind him, tossing the medical records and everything else to her while saying, "Blood pressure is normal, check the equipment data, monitor the EKG changes."

Raine Sinclair reacted quickly too, immediately turning to face the EKG machine, her back to everyone.

The next second, Silas Linton was helped in by the bodyguards.

Lately, her health has deteriorated significantly.

Maybe it’s due to her age, but her memory is starting to fade, and many things are becoming difficult, which is why she hadn’t gone to find Raine Sinclair in a while.

Otherwise, given her personality, she would never have stopped until she persuaded Raine Sinclair to change her mind.

Now knowing that her only grandson was seriously injured at the explosion site and in a coma, how could she possibly sit still?

It’s just a shame the people around her still tried to hide it from her!

"My grandson!"

As soon as she entered, she saw Jonas Hawthorne lying on the bed, his face particularly pale. Silas Linton’s heart almost broke!

This child, whom she’d adored since he was little!

He was perfectly fine yesterday; what happened today!

Silas Linton threw herself at Jonas Hawthorne’s bedside, unable to hold back her tears.

"If something happens to you, how will I explain it to your grandfather underground?"

Hearing this, Raine Sinclair also sighed inwardly.

Luckily, grandma didn’t discover me...

Just when she thought she could breathe a sigh of relief, a corner of her white coat was suddenly tugged.

And then Silas Linton’s sobbing voice came, "Doctor, how is my grandson?"

Raine Sinclair stiffened all over, not daring to turn her head or speak.

Fortunately, her brother reacted quickly and took over, "Madam, Mr. Hawthorne was injured in an explosion, causing brain damage and resulting in a coma."

Silas Linton was now tearful and didn’t look closely at the female doctor in front of her, turning her attention to the speaking doctor instead.

"When will he wake up?"

"It depends on the patient’s will to survive," John Franklin answered quite conservatively.

He seldom visited Sedonia; he only attended Raine Sinclair’s wedding in passing, so Silas Linton didn’t have much of an impression of him. Seeing him again now, she didn’t recognize him at all.

But listening to his words, her eyes welled up with warmth.

She then turned to look at her grandson lying lifeless on the bed, tears flooding out.

She stepped forward, held his hand, and sighed lightly, "Jonas, you must wake up! Leaving grandma alone, what should I do?"

As she was speaking, a sudden cry came from outside the door, "Has Jonas woken up?"

Hearing this voice, Silas Linton was snapped back to reality, instinctively wiping the tears from the corners of her eyes. She suddenly became calm again, as if she’d transformed into another person.

Without thinking, she got up and walked to the door.

The bodyguards she brought with her were outside the door, stopping Candace Ford from entering.

Candace Ford had sat for a while and heard that Silas Linton was here and hurried over to put on a show.

But she never expected that Silas Linton’s people wouldn’t even let her into Jonas Hawthorne’s room!

So she cried even more pitifully. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞

"Grandma! Why won’t you let me in? Has Jonas woken up?"

"Hmph." Silas Linton glanced at her pitiful appearance, her eyes filled with disdain, "You jinx! Ever since you appeared, the Hawthorne Family has had no peace!"

"What?" Candace Ford looked incredulously at the old lady in front of her. What madness was this now?

Silas Linton was not in the least bit swayed by her and her tone grew colder, "Before this, my grandson almost lost his life, and later he even got divorced for your sake! Now he’s lying here, and who knows when he might wake up!

All this began happening since you showed up. Jonas may be blind to your true colors, but do you think I can’t see through you? Candace Ford, as a fellow woman, I know what you’re thinking better than you do!"

This speech made Candace Ford’s heart skip a beat.

This old hag...

Yet her expression remained pitiable, sincere, "Grandma, you’ve misunderstood me. I... I just want Jonas to wake up soon. Our child is about to be born, and he worries about his dad too!"

"Stop using the child as your trump card!" Silas Linton snapped back at her, "Once the child is born, I’ll raise him by my side. As for you, don’t ever see the father and son again!"

She made a straightforward decision.

Silas knew how cruel her words must sound, but that was the only way she could accept Candace Ford’s child.

With Candace Ford’s vicious bloodline, even if she could bear a healthy good child, it’d surely turn bad if raised by her!

Silas Linton could only personally raise that child and see if she could guide him to the right path...

However, for Candace Ford, that child was almost her life and her entire hope. Hearing this old lady say she was going to take her child away, how could she agree?

She immediately cried out of desperation, "Grandma! How could you treat me like this? If Jonas knew, he would never agree! Jonas, wake up!"

The more she shouted like this, the more disgust Silas Linton felt.

"It’s up to me if he agrees or not!"

Silas Linton domineeringly made the decision.

She had earlier trusted Jonas to handle this.

Now watching him lying unconscious, Silas Linton could only step in to cut off these unnecessary troubles!

Candace Ford cried, her eyes full of tears, and started playing the affection card, "Grandma, in my belly is Jonas’s only bloodline, how can you bear it?"

Referring to this, Silas Linton snorted coldly again.

Only?

Her darling Raine was also pregnant with a Hawthorne child!

If not for protecting Raine, she would’ve revealed the news to provoke the woman in front of her!

And this "only"...

If it weren’t for having such a trump card in her belly, how could this woman be so arrogant!

"If you can steal sperm to get pregnant, can’t I have another woman also bear Jonas’s child?"

Silas Linton’s words left both women stunned.

Candace Ford’s tears were still hanging on her lashes, speechless for a long while.

And inside the hospital room, Raine Sinclair was also stunned...

Candace Ford’s child was... stolen?
