Refusing to Remarry: Mr. Hawthorne, You Are Out-Chapter 11: Throwing Herself at Him—No Wonder She Was Abandoned!
In her heart, she silently sighed.
Raine Sinclair could hide her emotions from others, but no matter what, she couldn’t hide them from herself...
How could she simply stop caring about someone she had deeply loved throughout her youth?
At least, seeing him now still made her heart ache.
——
Leo Keane froze the moment he saw Raine Sinclair while searching for Jonas Hawthorne, thinking, did these two run into each other already?
Turning his head slightly, he indeed saw Jonas Hawthorne not far behind Raine Sinclair...
Without a doubt, these two had already crossed paths.
The gossip bell in his heart rang instantly!
Leo Keane quickly circled around to Raine Sinclair and rushed to Jonas Hawthorne, curiously asking, "You two... did you run into each other? Did you talk?"
He couldn’t help it; he was just too curious!
Jonas Hawthorne naturally wouldn’t answer such a question, instead shooting a cold glance at Leo Keane!
"I..." Leo Keane still wanted to give it a try, when someone behind him cursed, "Ugh! Scumbag!"
Instinctively turning his head, he saw Mason Sullivan passing by them.
Unsurprisingly, that comment was directed at Jonas Hawthorne.
Leo Keane was taken aback, hurriedly turning back to see Jonas Hawthorne’s face completely darkened.
"Uh... why are you out here? I’ve been looking for you for ages!" Quickly touching his nose, Leo Keane changed the subject.
"To take a call."
Casually throwing out those four words, Jonas Hawthorne also turned and headed inside.
"Wait for me!" Leo Keane shouted as he chased after him.
Meanwhile, upstairs.
Leon Grant, who had witnessed everything, leisurely sipped his wine, then turned to go downstairs, "We should go down too."
The banquet was about to start.
Ahead, Mason Sullivan quickly caught up with Raine Sinclair.
"Why did you come in without waiting for me?" His first sentence, a bit complaining, Mason Sullivan grumbled aggrievedly.
Raine Sinclair looked back at him, "Next time if you’re late again, I’ll dock your pay."
"Ms. Sinclair! This isn’t work time, is it? At most, this is overtime! You should be paying me overtime!" Mason Sullivan felt he should fight for some rights!
But Raine Sinclair wasn’t fooled at all, instead saying, "Don’t forget, you’re my secretary; whenever I need you, you must be there."
Perhaps her earlier emotions hadn’t completely settled, her tone was surprisingly cold...
Mason Sullivan awkwardly cleared his throat, knowing this was part of his job, and didn’t dare continue slacking. He quickly shifted his gaze to Lily Sinclair beside him.
"Who is this?"
"I’m Lily Sinclair! Ms. Sinclair’s sister!" Lily Sinclair happily introduced herself.
She had been looking forward to tonight’s party, except for her sister running into her ex-brother-in-law; everything in the Grant Family’s manor was so new to her!
Though the Sinclair Family wasn’t weak, the main powerholder was still Raine Sinclair’s father.
Lily Sinclair’s father, Samuel Sinclair, didn’t handle much business; compared to Raine Sinclair, Lily Sinclair hadn’t seen as much of the world.
"Biological sister?" Mason Sullivan was momentarily surprised and carefully looked at Lily Sinclair, finding she didn’t resemble Raine Sinclair much.
Plus, he’d never heard Raine Sinclair mention she had a sister!
Lily Sinclair immediately squinted her eyes and smiled, "Cousin sister!"
"Oh..." Mason Sullivan suddenly understood, then smiled broadly at Lily Sinclair, "Since you’re Ms. Sinclair’s sister, you’re my sister too! I’ve got your back!"
"Okay!" Lily Sinclair nodded purely, having no idea how much Mason Sullivan would bully her in the future.
In his family, he was the youngest and always bullied.
So finally, seeing someone younger than him, wouldn’t he want to bully them in return?
Raine Sinclair seemed to notice Mason Sullivan’s intention, giving him a direct look, "I’m telling you, Lily is very innocent, don’t bully her!"
"How could I? Am I that kind of person?" Mason Sullivan chuckled, scratching the back of his head, just about to find an excuse for himself, when he looked up and saw a middle-aged man with a big belly coming over. He immediately lowered his voice and said beside Raine Sinclair’s ear, "That’s Sean Ford, the president of the local Talon Bank in Sedonia."
Raine Sinclair followed his gaze, coincidentally meeting Sean Ford’s eyes, instantly smiling and greeting, "Uncle Ford, long time no see!"
She had a faint memory of this person; her father seemed to have introduced him when she was young.
She remembered the name, but had forgotten the appearance, especially with changes in weight over the years.
Thanks to Mason Sullivan’s reminder, Raine Sinclair remembered immediately.
Sean Ford knew Raine Sinclair; recently, she was the hottest topic in Sedonia!
Now she’s taking over the entire Sinclair Group, so naturally, he had to be extra polite.
"It’s Raine! You really do look a bit like your dad!" Sean Ford also started some polite conversation with a smile.
Lily Sinclair, with a great sense of awareness, quietly stepped aside, starting to observe the men and women around her.
Though she’d attended many parties, one of this scale was a first for her!
She even noticed tonight’s guests were dressed differently than what she’d seen before...
More noble, more refined.
But after wandering around, she couldn’t resist looking back at her cousin, now surrounded by a group of people.
"My sister is still the most beautiful!"
With eyes full of admiration, Lily Sinclair had grown up looking up to Raine Sinclair.
In her eyes, her sister had always been excellent, always beautiful...
It was truly blind of her to marry that scumbag Jonas Hawthorne later on!
Just as she thought of this, a wave of chatter came from behind.
"Look, the one in the middle is Raine Sinclair. Divorced, abandoned by her husband, yet she can still smile! If I were her, I’d be hiding at home in shame!"
"You shouldn’t say that; she has a powerful dad! Instantly handed over such a large enterprise to her!"
"It’s best if it collapses soon!"
"You wouldn’t know, but back then, Raine Sinclair chased after Jonas Hawthorne so passionately!"
"No wonder she got dumped, chasing after him too hard!"
As Lily Sinclair listened, she got angrier, her small fists clenched, and she shot back, "Isn’t the wrong one that cheating scumbag?"
These words left the other women, dressed extravagantly, completely stunned.
After a long while, someone finally sneered, as if hearing a joke, "Cheating scumbag? Get your facts straight, that’s Mr. Hawthorne! Handsome and wealthy! Clearly, Raine Sinclair couldn’t keep him!"
"Exactly! How could Mr. Hawthorne be interested in her?" 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢
"She deserved to be dumped!"
"I heard Raine Sinclair was married for two years and nothing happened with her belly; maybe that’s why she got kicked out?"
