Chapter 230: Secret Marriage (1)

Lennox wasn’t willing to part with his wife yet. It had been a week since they married, but he felt it was only yesterday. Now, they were scheduled to return to Chiangshi as their business here in Nanchuan had ended. Lennox couldn’t help but reminisce about the beautiful moments they had shared in Nanchuan, making it even harder for him to say goodbye.

Adrienne was seated next to him during their flight to Chiangshi. She glanced at him and closed the magazine she was reading. She knew what her husband was thinking at that moment. Lennox wanted her to move with them to Jinxiu Garden, but the Zhao family had yet to be informed of their sudden marriage.

Adrienne understood the dilemma they were facing. She knew breaking the news to the Zhao family would be difficult, especially considering their traditional values and expectations. However, she knew she couldn’t part with Lennox for too long.

She had always been independent and strong-willed, but being away from Lennox for an extended period of time seemed unbearable. She couldn’t imagine her life without him by her side, and deep down, she knew that he also felt the same way.

"The news about us dating reached Uncle Reese already, and he’s asking me to return as soon as possible. Don’t worry about it, Len. I know Uncle Reese will be upset, but he will understand that I can’t be away from you for too long. I’ll talk to him and explain the situation, and hopefully, he’ll see that you have no ill intention towards me." She reassured Lennox, knowing that her uncle valued her happiness above all else.

"Oh, my sweet, sweet Addie. Your uncle would kill me if he knew my ’ill’ intentions towards you." Lennox teased, trying to ease the tension between them. "Do you think that after I got a taste of you, your uncle could stop me from having you all to myself?"

Adrienne chuckled softly, playfully swatting Lennox’s arm. "You know what I mean, silly. He just needs to see that we’re serious about each other and not rushing into anything."

She leaned closer, whispering, "And maybe once he sees how happy you make me, he’ll come around."

Lennox laughed nervously. "I should be thankful Hunter isn’t around. I have no doubt he would be more than willing to help your Uncle Reese by torturing me for marrying you behind their backs."

Adrienne grinned mischievously, her eyes sparkling. "Oh, come on; stop being so dramatic. Uncle Reese might give you a hard time, but deep down, he just wants to make sure you’re worthy of me."

Lennox raised an eyebrow teasingly. "Worthy of you? Is that a challenge? In what aspects am I lacking, wife? Is there something else I should improve on?"

Adrienne’s face turned crimson as she remembered the times she made love with her husband. She cleared her throat, trying to regain her composure. There were times she wished to die in her sleep from embarrassment. Her husband was quite a bully in bed, always having her begging and screaming for more.

Lennox had allowed her to see more stars than she could count in the night sky. His touch was electric, igniting a fire within her that she had never experienced before. But deep down, she knew there was more to being worthy of him than just their physical connection. She wanted to prove to him that she was his equal and could be his partner in every aspect of life.

"Well, let’s just say you’ve already proven yourself quite capable in that department," she replied with a sly smile. "But there’s always room for improvement, isn’t there?" Lennox chuckled, leaning in closer. "I suppose we’ll have to keep pushing each other to new heights then, won’t we?"

"I’ll miss you. Come back to me as soon as you can. I will be waiting for you." Lennox leaned closer to her, running his fingers through her long hair.

Adrienne was already beautiful with her short hair, but seeing her sporting long hair made her a goddess in his eyes. He couldn’t help but feel a pang of sadness, knowing he would be without her for some time.

"I’ll be back before you know it," Adrienne whispered, and she felt him gently kissing her forehead.

Lennox smiled bitterly. If he could, he would take Adrienne away and keep her all to himself, but that wasn’t possible. He knew that Adrienne also had a life to live and loved ones she treasured greatly. He knew this, but he still married her. He was willing to endure the pain of separation because he couldn’t bear the thought of losing her completely, and he believed that she would return to his side eventually.

"I’ll be counting down the days until your return," he said softly, holding onto her tightly. "Don’t forget to miss me, okay?"

Adrienne looked into his eyes, her own filled with sadness. She placed a hand on his cheek and rubbed it gently with her thumb.

"You are making it hard for me to leave you." She commented.

Lennox was momentarily stunned, but a smile eventually appeared on his face. That was his plan all this time. He wanted Adrienne to change her mind and not divorce him. He wanted her to love no other man but him.

He hoped that by showing her how much he cared and how difficult it would be for him without her, she would reconsider their separation and give their marriage another chance. Lennox knew that he had to make every moment count in order to win Adrienne’s heart completely.

"What can I say? I’m completely head over heels for you, wife." Lennox whispered, his voice filled with sincerity and longing. He continued, "I want to be the one who makes you smile every day, the one who supports you through thick and thin. I can’t imagine my life without you, Addie. So don’t dare to leave me behind for too long or I might lose my mind.""
