Reborn with the Infinite World Panel-Chapter 79: Daily Life 6
Once the filming ended, Nan Chu headed straight to the airport and then took a flight directly back to Beijing.
Because Jiang Han was on a business trip, Nan Chu took a taxi home, and after returning home, she washed up and rested.
After sleeping for a short while, Nan Chu was awoken by the ringing phone. She glanced at it and saw it was an unknown number.
Nan Chu answered nevertheless.
"Hello, who is this?"
"I am Elder Jin Liu from the Tai Chi Sect. Are you currently in Beijing?"
"Yes, Elder, I am."
"Come to Spiritual Mist Mountain." With that, the call ended abruptly.
Immediately, Nan Chu got up, got dressed, and then checked the group chat in Beijing, discovering that many sect members had also received calls from Elder Jin Liu.
Everyone was speculating that something significant must have happened.
A senior brother named Nai Zhi, who lived close to Nan Chu, agreed to set off together for Spiritual Mist Mountain.
Nai Zhi, thirty-three years old, wore a Daoist robe, with long hair tied up using a peach wood hairpin.
"Junior Sister Nan."
"Brother Na," Nan Chu greeted and said, "Brother, you didn’t drive here. Wait a moment; I’ll go get the car."
Nai Zhi had only asked her to meet, so Nan Chu thought he would surely drive over.
"Junior Sister Nan, I’ll teach you today how to call a Ghost Car," Nai Zhi said. "Watch closely."
Then Nai Zhi recited a mantra, his fingers forming hand signs, and within moments, a Ghost Car appeared.
Nan Chu had never encountered such a method of transport before; this certainly wasn’t taught in books.
It seemed book learning was insufficient; more interaction with fellow sect members was needed.
"Let’s go, Junior Sister Nan."
Nan Chu followed Nai Zhi into the car.
The ghost driver spoke, "Where to?"
"Spiritual Mist Mountain."
"Buckle up, heading out."
"Whoosh—" The car took off, reaching the foot of Spiritual Mist Mountain in less than five minutes.
In reality, driving there would have taken over two hours; the Ghost Car took the Underworld Road, reducing it to just five minutes.
It certainly was much faster. 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂
As for payment, mortal-world cash or joss paper from the underworld could be used.
The ghost driver could exchange mortal cash if needed; it was all the same anyway.
Upon paying, the two used their magic to ascend Spiritual Mist Mountain.
Once inside the mountain, both Nai Zhi and Nan Chu felt a formidable power within Spiritual Mist Mountain.
They flew towards the source of this power, and upon arrival, found Elder Jin Liu and three other sect members had already arrived.
It turned out Elder Jin Liu had discovered that a spiritual artifact was about to emerge.
Elder Jin Liu had already set up an array to prevent the artifact’s power from leaking out, avoiding it getting snatched by magicians from other sects.
However, the artifact’s power was too strong, and Elder Jin Liu feared other sects would discover it before it fully materialized.
So Elder Jin Liu urgently summoned the disciples in Beijing to set up an array, ensuring the Tai Chi Sect could seize this spiritual artifact.
Once all available disciples arrived, they joined forces to set up a Human Array, completely sealing the artifact’s power within the array.
Elder Jin Liu stated, "You all can meditate and absorb the power of this spiritual artifact, which will benefit your cultivation."
Upon hearing Elder Jin Liu, everyone immediately sat cross-legged to absorb the artifact’s power.
About an hour passed before the spiritual artifact finally appeared.
It was a hollow, carved sphere with a round bell in the center.
This object seemed to have a consciousness, trying to escape, but it was blocked by the array and couldn’t get away.
The object moved extremely fast, and despite Elder Jin Liu’s high cultivation, he hadn’t managed to touch the artifact even after several minutes of pursuit.
"Everyone, join in! Someone is approaching, and we must secure the artifact before outsiders arrive," Elder Jin Liu urged.
"Yes," everyone replied in unison.
A spiritual artifact can serve as a sect’s treasure if obtained, so it couldn’t be allowed to fall into the hands of other sects.
Nan Chu used Clear Wind Step to catch up with the artifact, quickly retrieving the Heavenly Revelation Pen from the Warehouse, and activated it to draw a trapping formation that trapped the artifact.
Nan Chu then reached out and grabbed the artifact, storing the Heavenly Revelation Pen back into the panel’s Warehouse.
"You three, protect this disciple and return the artifact to the sect; we’ll cover the rear," Elder Jin Liu instructed, pointing to the three nearest to Nan Chu.
Nan Chu and the other three quickly left in another direction.
After descending the mountain, they took a Ghost Car back to the Tai Chi Sect.
Within three minutes of Nan Chu and the others’ departure, five individuals with cultivation levels all higher than Elder Jin Liu’s arrived.
Elder Jin Liu was only at Master Level, Middle Stage.
Among the five, three were Late-stage Masters, and two were at the Peak of Master Level, just a step away from reaching Grandmaster Level.
Their arrival immediately allowed them to sense the lingering power of the spiritual artifact.
"Indeed, it’s a spiritual artifact!" exclaimed Sun Qi from the Yellow Dao Sect.
However, the artifact’s power was no longer there, indicating it was taken by the Tai Chi Sect.
Moreover, it was certain they would take the Underworld Road; if they could intercept it before it reached the sect, it could still belong to the Yellow Dao Sect.
Sun Qi immediately prepared to leave using his magic.
Jin Liu quickly spoke out, "Sun Dao You, this artifact was discovered by our Tai Chi Sect. Surely, you don’t intend to seize it."
Sun Qi gave a feigned smile and said, "Mr. Jin, I’m simply headed home to rest. Now that your sect has obtained the artifact, why would I try to take it?"
With that, Sun Qi promptly used his magic to leave.
Jin Liu wanted to stop him but was too late, and the other four left in succession.
They shared Sun Qi’s thought: if the artifact hadn’t yet been delivered back to the Tai Chi Sect, seizing it afterward would make it theirs.
However, upon catching up with the Ghost Car, Sun Qi discovered that the three disciples inside didn’t possess the artifact at all.
The three intercepted disciples felt relieved, grateful that Nan Chu unexpectedly got off midway and returned to the mortal world.
Nan Chu had anticipated they might face trouble, so they traveled separately.
Nan Chu opened her phone to pinpoint her location: Fengzhuang Village.
In this village, there was no car service available, and using the Underworld Road was out of the question—the artifact thieves were sure to intercept there.
Although she felt capable of defeating them, she didn’t want to expose her secrets.
It seemed she needed to use her tools. Nan Chu retrieved the Positioning Transmission Talisman from her panel’s warehouse—a High-level Talisman of which she only had three.
Despite having the Talisman Hand skill, her current level didn’t allow her to draw a Positioning Transmission Talisman.
This talisman required a Talisman Hand skill level of SSS to draw.
Her Talisman Hand skill had only reached Level A, making further advancement extremely challenging.
In the Infinite World, she had only used this talisman for acquiring special items or during escape situations.
The item was rare and precious.
She had considered taking an airplane to the sect, but the flight for "Great Survival" was scheduled for 10 AM.
Nan Chu used a Positioning Transmission Talisman to teleport directly to the Tai Chi Sect’s main gate, handing the spiritual artifact over to the Sect Leader.\p>
After submission, Nan Chu caught a Ghost Car back to Beijing.
Returning home, Nan Chu felt no sleepiness and instead sat down to meditate and cultivate.
