Chapter 35: The Four Judgement

The battle with Zenith had left more than just wounds.

It had cracked something deep in Elias—something not easily mended.

He stood at the edge of the Wraithspine Sector now, leaning heavily on a broken pillar, his cloak torn and his body pulsing with residual damage. This district, a shattered relic of old magic and forgotten wars, was where the Rebellion would make its stand next.

Here, the System’s grip faltered.

Here, monsters whispered to one another in the shadows.

And something older than even the System stirred beneath the surface.

Two Days Earlier – Crimson Sanctum, Recovery Room

Elias woke to Ceryn standing over him, arms folded, eyes as tired as his body felt.

"You fought Zenith and lived," she said.

"Barely."

"You shouldn’t have gone alone."

"I needed to know what I was facing."

"And now you do," Ceryn replied sharply. "He’s faster, stronger, and doesn’t bleed."

Elias sat up. "He’s not perfect. He flinched. I saw it."

Myra leaned in the doorway. "We need to disappear. Regroup. Find allies that aren’t trapped in cells."

"No." Elias stood, wincing. "We do the opposite. We expand. We make noise. Let the System hear us scream."

Present – Entering the Spine

The wind in Wraithspine was sharp, laced with magic gone sour. Buildings floated at odd angles. Starlight didn’t reflect right here. Gravity was a suggestion.

Kael grunted. "This place stinks of death."

"That’s because it remembers," Ceryn replied, running her fingers over a wall covered in faded runes. "Wraithspine was a testing ground long before the System. Some things here were never catalogued."

Elias’s steps slowed as he sensed something... familiar.

"Something’s watching us."

A whisper curled behind them.

"You’re not wrong."

They turned to see a woman cloaked in shadow, her eyes burning crimson-red. Not a vessel. Not human.

But not fully demon, either.

"My name is Nyxia. You walk in my territory."

"We’re not enemies," Elias said.

"Yet."

---

The Queen of Forgotten Things

Nyxia led them into a tower of bone and mirror. Each reflection twisted, showing the worst of those who passed through. In Elias’s reflection—he saw the Blood Monarch. Again.

"You’ve seen it too," she said, pausing beside him.

"What?"

"That crown. That throne. That future."

Elias hesitated. "You know what it means?"

"I know what it takes to get there."

He looked into her eyes. "And what’s that?"

"A kingdom built not on blood... but betrayal."

Nyxia reached into a black satchel and pulled free a scroll sealed in human skin.

> [Item Acquired – Vault Key: Sin Requiem]

Grants access to Vault-13 beneath Wraithspine.

"Go below," she said. "But leave one of your allies behind. You’ll need bait if you want the Vault to open."

Elias frowned. "It demands a soul?"

"It demands a lie. One well-told."

He turned to his team.

"I’ll go. Alone."

---

Vault-13 – Beneath Wraithspine

The descent into Vault-13 was like falling into a memory not his own.

Black fire lit the walls. Carvings of angels torn in half. A throne made of books—each one bound in a rebel’s skin. At the center of it all, a coffin made of obsidian.

The moment Elias touched it—everything changed.

> [System Sync – Forbidden Memory Retrieved]

A vision struck him.

His past life.

Not just Elias Black.

But a being before that.

A fallen archon who had defied fate.

He remembered the name now—

"El’Azar."

The soul who challenged the gods and lost.

The same power lived in him now. Reborn. Caged. And finally... awakening.

> [Skill Gained – Crimson Domain: Lv. 1]

Activate to control a battlefield-sized area with your will. Increases allies’ damage by 25%, decreases enemy resistance by 20%.

> [Trait Gained – Sin-Eater’s Endurance]

The more pain you endure, the stronger you grow.

Elias fell to his knees, vision spinning.

And then—

He saw Zenith.

Not in front of him.

In the memory.

Watching him die in another life.

---

Above – System Agents Closing In

Meanwhile, Myra, Ceryn, and Kael fended off a squad of System Agents that had sniffed out their trail. Magic crackled through the sky, drones exploded mid-air, and Kael tore through soldiers like wet paper.

But they were stalling.

The real threat hadn’t arrived yet.

Not until the sky tore open.

And Zenith descended—again.

But this time, he wasn’t alone.

Behind him were three others—all bearing different core symbols. All expressions empty.

Elias surfaced from Vault-13 to see the city burning.

Again.

The sky above Wraithspine was no longer a void of forgotten stars.

It had split open—ripped by celestial hands—and from its bleeding mouth descended judgment.

Four figures stood at the edge of the torn veil, their feet touching nothing yet casting shadows over the entire ruined sector. They radiated silence. Power. Divine sanction. Each one bore a different glyph on their chest—symbols none of the rebellion had seen before.

But Elias knew them.

He had dreamed of them long before he ever stepped into this world.

And now they were real.

---

Zenith Stepped Forward

Cloaked in stillness, he raised one hand and pointed directly at Elias.

"You’ve awakened the Vault. El’Azar lives in you again. That was your first mistake."

The other three spread apart, positioning themselves across the city in precise quadrants like pieces on a chessboard. Together, they formed a Suppression Net.

> [System Alert – Divine Enforcement Network Activated]

Teleportation Disabled

System Authority Overridden

Inside Elias

Something cracked.

The memories retrieved from Vault-13 still echoed inside his skull. The death of El’Azar, the betrayal by the high heavens, the cursed chain that bound him across reincarnations.

He wasn’t just Elias Black.

He was once a prince of rebellion—a celestial who defied fate—and the System knew it.

Now they had come to erase him again.

> Skill: Crimson Domain – ACTIVE

The sky bled crimson. The ground responded. Blood patterns shaped across the stone as Elias’s aura burst wide. The Suppression Net cracked slightly—but it held.

He couldn’t win like this.

Not without help.

---

The First Judgement: Seraphiel, The Blade of Clarity

She was elegance turned to horror.

Golden eyes without pupils. A blade that hummed the truth of a thousand executions. She moved toward Kael and Myra with speed that made the wind scream.

Kael met her charge—horns flaring, skin hardened like magma.

"Back to hell, angel!" he roared, swinging his demon cleaver.

But Seraphiel danced through the air. One slash. Two.

Blood erupted.

Kael dropped to a knee, coughing flame.

> [Ally Condition: Critical]

Myra flung knives from every angle. Shadows warped, twisted—but Seraphiel blinked through them all and caught Myra by the neck mid-air.

"This one is clever," she whispered. "Let’s see how clever she is... without a spine."

A sonic boom cracked across the battlefield.

---

The Second Judgement: Caelux, The Eye That Devours

Hovering above Sector Nine, a floating mass of burning glyphs wrapped in a blindfold floated silently. It didn’t speak. It only watched.

And when it did—things broke.

Reality bent.

Glass screamed. Brick exploded. People vomited blood.

A group of rebel vessels tried to flee through the alleys. Caelux turned its blindfolded head.

> [Soul Signature Locked]

Purging Rebellion Filth...

One breath.

And five rebels disintegrated.

Not burned.

Not shredded.

Erased.

---

The Third Judgement: Moruin, The Clockwork Gravedigger

In the far eastern sector, Moruin walked.

A mechanical saint with a rusted halo and a shovel made of bone.

Wherever he stepped, time slowed. People aged. Regressed. Froze in confusion.

A boy ran from him—barely ten years old.

Moruin touched his shadow.

And the boy aged into dust in seconds.

> [Unique Effect: Time Reversal Active]

All skills within range lose effectiveness by 50%.

He approached the old cathedral where the Crimson Rebellion had hidden several young vessels. His shovel dragged against the stone.

"Judgment is not cruel," he said. "It is precise."

---

Elias vs Zenith – Round Two

"I won’t let you destroy them," Elias growled.

"You already did," Zenith replied. "When you rose. When you chose to carry the flame."

They clashed.

Again.

But this time, Elias fought smarter. He activated the Liberation Pulse earlier, burst from Zenith’s pattern, and slammed a soul-flare fist into his jaw.

Zenith flew into a wall.

But he stood up, barely fazed.

"You’re improving," he said, voice still eerily calm. "But you’re still incomplete."

"You think that’s a threat?" Elias snapped, flames coiling around his arms. "It’s a promise."

> [Skill Unlocked – El’Azar’s Vow: Phase I]

Temporarily ignores suppression fields. Increases soul power by 80% for 60 seconds.

Elias activated it.

And the world shook.

---

Back to the Battle – Ceryn’s Gambit

While chaos consumed the city, Ceryn slipped through the back tunnels beneath Wraithspine, carrying the last of the explosive runes from Ashmoor.

She’d seen enough.

The Rebellion wasn’t going to win by holding ground.

It needed to break the board.

And that meant detonating the city’s inner vault—collapsing the entire Wraithspine suppression field.

"I hope you survive this, Elias," she whispered, triggering the final rune.

> [System Disruption Detected – Vault Integrity Failing]

Suppression Field Dropping in 10... 9...

---

Elias Rises

The countdown echoed in his mind.

His body lit up—demonic runes glowing across his skin.

Zenith swung—

Elias caught his blade.

With one final roar, Elias surged forward, lifting Zenith into the air and slamming him through the heart of the corrupted watchtower.

The city exploded in red light.

---

> [Suppression Field: OFFLINE]

You have 60 seconds of full power before System recalibrates.

And that was all he needed.

He looked to the sky, toward the other three Judgments.

"I’m coming," he said.
