When I was too drunk to even open my eyes, I vaguely remembered being carried by someone whose cologne smelled exactly like Lando’s.

I blinked several times, staring blankly at the wall in front of me. At this point, I was starting to think Penny acted more like a matchmaking system than a money-making one.

I only let out a small huff in response because the more I talked, the more annoying Penny’s replies would get.
After realizing that Lando was actually home today, I decided to change into something decent before heading to the dining room for breakfast.
Just as Penny said, Lando really was at home. He was sitting at the table, eating quietly while watching something on his phone.
Why was he acting like a kid who couldn’t eat without watching a video? It was kind of cute, though, actually this was the first time we’d ever had breakfast together. Usually, he was already out the door before sunrise.
"Husband, you’re not going to work today?" I asked, walking toward the table.
He flinched slightly at the sound of my voice and quickly picked up his phone from the table.
"Oh, you’re here." Lando cleared his throat and looked up at me. "I’m sorry, I didn’t wait for you to have breakfast together."
It seemed like he’d forgotten that he wasn’t alone anymore, but honestly, I couldn’t blame him. He’d probably lived alone for so long that eating in silence had become normal for him.
Maybe that’s why he always watched something on his phone. It helped make the silence a little less lonely.
"It’s fine," I said with a soft smile, sitting down across from him. "I woke up late anyway. So ... you’re not working today?"
Lando gave a small hum. "I took a day off."
"Why?" I blurted out. "Are you sick?"
"No, I’m not sick." He averted his gaze slightly. "I’ve been traveling a lot lately, so I decided to rest for a bit."
So he could take a break after all! He was such a workaholic that I’d always thought he was the type who’d rather die at his desk than take a day off.
But if he wanted to use his day off to rest, that probably meant he wouldn’t want to go out, right?
He might want to recharge his energy quietly at home, not go somewhere crowded like the mall.
Maybe ... I shouldn’t bother him.
