After a long time, they finally let go of each other. With her face turning the darkest shade of red, Ella somehow managed to return to her seat.

By the time she managed to look at him, the man had already wiped his ’little brother’ clean and tucked him in.

Adrian looked every bit of a gentleman, fully prim and proper from head to toe.

And Ella did not have to look at the mirror to know what she must be looking like at this moment. 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂

She immediately reached out to grab the tissues but a firm hand wrapped around her wrist.

Ella looked at Adrian, bewildered by his action.

Something dark glinted in the man’s eyes as he lifted her hand to his lips and pressed a kiss on the back of it as he said.

"I want you to feel me between your legs the entire day and remember, no one can separate us. Ever."

"Miss Yu, are you not feeling well?" The old butler questioned when he received the couple at the door.

Ella’s footsteps were a little unsteady and her face was unusually flushed.

The butler could not help but look at Adrian but the man was completely normal, his posture was relaxed. And he even seemed a bit happy, which was unusual.

"Did you perhaps encounter some difficulties on the road?"

Ella shook her head and cleared her throat, "I’m just feeling nervous. Why don’t you tell me why the Elders have summoned us here?"

Purposefully driven into a spot by Ella, the old butler’s face swelled up like a pufferfish. He kept his curiosity inside and led them in.

’Woof’

’Meow’

Ella spotted Riri and Lala playing with a bunch of maids in the corner, totally uncaring of anything else. And her lips twitched.

The moment they entered the grand hall, Ella felt like a solemn air descended upon them.

Suddenly, an energetic voice cut through the gloom in the air, "Ah, brother, what took you so long? You both even took the shortcut!"

Ella’s eyelids twitched as she glared at Kade. She suddenly realized how ’punchable’ his face looked.

"W-What?" Taken aback by the vicious glare, Kade cowered into his seat.

It hasn’t been easy for him to get into his brother’s good books and get his money back, after all. He couldn’t take risks again.

Only after Kade quietened did Ella look around and she realized that the living room was filled with people she had not expected to see here.

Other than Kade and Ruby who quietly sat next to each other, there was Ronan who was sitting next to Lilith.

Next to Lilith was the man Ella had met at the Annual Ball. Luca Caine.

Perhaps sensing her gaze on himself, the man looked up with a small smile and gave her a slight nod.

Before Ella could respond, she felt an arm wrapping around her waist. She looked up at Adrian. His face did not reveal much of his thoughts but his grip on her waist was firm.

"What took you so long?" The authoritative voice of the Old Madam cut through the silence.

Ella squirmed the moment she heard the question.

But then, she heard Adrian replying.

"The car broke down."

Outwardly, Ella’s expression did not change but inwardly, she was in disbelief. Could Adrian lie so effortlessly? Without a single change in his expression?

Hearing that, both Old Madam and the Old Master stood up.

"The car broke down? You don’t even have Ji Yan with you!" The Old Master King frowned.

Old Madam King walked towards Adrian and examined him from head to toe, "In the future, let Ji Yan drive, no matter what. Don’t be out by yourself. It’s not safe..."

"It’s all my fault," Lilith pushed herself to her feet as she approached them, "They had to rush over here because of me."

Ella turned to Lilith. Because of her?

True enough, after the revelation of her and Adrian’s marriage, his grandparents did not seem very pleased.

And Ella thought it would take them longer to warm up. So, their sudden invite had her questioning everything.

She even thought they wanted her to divorce Adrian, for which Adrian even... cough... punished her.

"It’s not your fault, dear," Old Madam King turned to Lilith before she glanced at Adrian, "It is rare for you kids to be at the same place but with how busy Little Ian is, I doubt he can spare time. So, I had to take things into my hands to bring him here."

Ella blinked, "Grandma, do you have something planned?"

Old Madam King looked at her, "Of course. I have arranged the outfits for you and your friend in your room. Why don’t you go get dressed first?"

Ella nodded slowly, "I will also show my room to Ruby then."

Taking the cue, Ruby stood up and bowed to both the elders, her stance proper and elegant, "Thank you for your hospitality."

"No need for the formalities," Old Madam King waved her hand.

Ella tried to move but the arm around her waist remained firm, not budging an inch.

Old Madam King raised an eyebrow at her, "What happened?"

Ella forced a smile on her face as she shook her head. She squirmed her waist a bit, only feeling Adrian’s fingers stroking her skin.

Even through the layer of her clothes, she felt his touch lingering on her skin. And her face turned a little red.

This little interaction was not missed by Lilith and a few others who were positioned to the couple’s left.

"It seems like Ace and his girlfriend are deeply in love," The one to make the remark was Luca.

Ella spotted the subtle change on the elders’ face when the man uttered ’girlfriend’.

Just as she was squirming under all this heat, Adrian released her waist.

Suddenly, Ella felt a warm touch upon her head as the man stroked her hair, "I will wait for you."

A silence lingered in the living room, as the man’s tender actions did not seem to deny the statement in the slightest.

Ella nodded, "I am also excited to see what Grandma has planned."
