Reborn on Wedding Night: Flirting the Cold Bigshot into Blushes-Chapter 334: He Wants to Hold a Wedding Again
The atmosphere was harmonious among the few people as they chatted and reached Ink Manor.
Emma Lewis extended her hand to support Nancy Allen, who saw this and followed Emma into Ink Manor.
Once inside, she wouldn’t have to come out, and could avoid facing Godfery Shaw.
But just as Nancy was about to go with the flow, Godfery Shaw said nonchalantly, "Nancy, you’d better come back to Imperial Garden with me. Emma is busy preparing for her wedding and won’t have time to take care of you. You surely don’t want to interfere with the progress of their wedding, right?"
Nancy paused, thinking it over. Besides Emma, no one else was suitable to take care of her.
Emma immediately patted her chest and said, "I’m not busy. Even if I am busy, I can take good care of Nancy."
Nancy, however, shook her head and whispered, "Forget it, I’ll stay at Imperial Garden today."
Nancy’s voice was so soft that only Godfery, sitting next to her, could hear it clearly.
Godfery helped convey her message, "She said she’ll stay at Imperial Garden for the next few days."
Nancy opened her mouth; she had only said she’d stay at Imperial Garden today. By tomorrow, she should be able to take care of herself and be able to return to Ink Manor or go to the old district.
But Godfery said it casually, as if it was just an offhand remark, making it hard for Nancy to seriously argue.
Nancy waved at Sophie Allen.
Sophie ran over to her, and Nancy gently said in her ear, "When I’m better, I’ll paint you a picture."
Sophie, understanding, replied, "Okay, mom, take good care of your health, and if you need anything done, just ask Sophie."
The group bid farewell and entered Ink Manor.
Godfery brought Nancy back to Imperial Garden.
Nancy sighed in her heart, feeling as if she had fallen into Godfery’s hands and couldn’t escape his grasp.
But none of this was Godfery’s fault; he had been diligently taking care of her.
Godfery helped Nancy sit down in the hall, poured her a glass of warm water, and asked, "What are you thinking about so deeply?"
Without paper and pen by her side, Nancy leaned over to Godfery and said, "I’m thinking about what kind of wedding gift to give Emma."
Nancy hadn’t realized how scarce paper and pens were at Imperial Garden.
While being gentle and tolerant, Godfery also played a little trick to get closer, not caring if it was only temporary.
Godfery casually suggested, "Give them a company?"
Nancy was speechless. She meant her, not Godfery, but she didn’t say anything so dismissive. Instead, she replied, "The Lewis family doesn’t lack a company, and Basil Smith probably doesn’t want one either."
Godfery continued, "Then give a villa."
"Emma said she has already bought a house and is setting up a wedding home."
"A yacht."
"Godfery Shaw! It’s not about money, what’s important is the thought!"
Nancy felt that when it came to gift-giving, there was a generational gap between her and Godfery.
Suddenly, Nancy’s eyes lit up.
Godfery immediately asked, "What do you want to give?"
Nancy hadn’t really wanted to say, but since Godfery asked, she replied, "Emma loves soldiers, her dream is to join the military. I plan to make her a model of a warship, I just don’t know if there’s enough time."
Godfery still thought giving a villa or a yacht would be more convenient, but he unconditionally supported Nancy’s idea, "It’s doable, I’ll find the raw materials and get a master model maker to help right now." 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺
Nancy awkwardly replied, "Thanks."
She really needed Godfery’s help with these things; in her current state, she found it inconvenient to do anything herself.
Godfery reached out to rub Nancy’s head gently and said, "Aren’t we a couple? No need for thanks between us."
Nancy hesitated to speak.
Godfery seemed to ignore her distant demeanor, gently believing they were a couple.
Nancy wanted to speak frankly but didn’t know how to start. It was never Godfery’s fault; it was her own problem. How could she hurt Godfery again because of her own issues?
"Alright, think about it tomorrow if there’s anything else. Rest now."
Nancy nodded.
The two went upstairs together. Without noticing, Godfery prepared a bath for Nancy in his room, instructing her, "Go take a bath, I’ll get your medicine ready."
Nancy wanted to say she could bathe herself today and that she could stay in her own room too.
But after Godfery gently instructed her, he left the room, leaving Nancy reluctant to speak up again.
Godfery went downstairs to prepare the medicine, a slight smile appeared on his face. Indeed, what was written in that romance novel was right. Sometimes when you pretend to not understand, the other person finds it hard to forcibly clarify things, and the emotions can deepen in such a tug-of-war.
If Nancy knew Godfery’s current state was influenced by that little wife novel, she’d probably want to burn the book.
Nancy resignedly climbed into Godfery’s bathtub, feeling inexplicably embarrassed and her heart racing.
It wasn’t Godfery’s problem; it was definitely her own wild imagination.
Thinking of the large bed pieced together in the room outside, Nancy chose to escape reality and lay in the bathtub, unwilling to come out.
Until Godfery knocked on the bathroom door, "Nancy, are you finished? Don’t soak too long, it can cause dizziness."
Nancy sighed again, dragging her tired body out of the bathtub, mainly because she feared if she didn’t come out soon, Godfery might worry and burst in.
Nancy opened the bathroom door, and there was Godfery waiting by the door. Seeing her come out, he naturally reached out and picked her up.
Nancy didn’t have time to tell Godfery to let go before he had already placed her on the bed, giving her medicine and drying her hair, interrupting anything she wanted to say.
Once everything was tidied up, Nancy lay on the very edge of her bed, as if she was afraid of rolling into Godfery’s embrace while she slept.
Godfery lay on his side, looking at her with a gentle expression, his voice magnetic and soft, "Nancy, Basil and Emma are getting married, I want... to organize a wedding for us."
Back then, Nancy had married into Imperial Garden under the Wright family’s name, as a stand-in.
At that time, Godfery only wanted to keep her by his side, by any means necessary.
But now he wanted to give her a real wedding, pretending not to notice her hesitation, just wanting to ask, just in case she said yes.
Nancy was taken aback by Godfery’s words.
Having a real wedding with Godfery at this time felt to Nancy like a mockery, given her current state; how could she marry Godfery?
Nancy shook her head and refused, "No... it’s unnecessary, really."
Godfery’s eyes gradually dimmed, saying nothing, yet saying everything with his gaze.
Nancy, seeing Godfery’s eyes like that, felt terribly guilty.
So kind, so gentle, how could she hurt him?
Nancy wanted to shift the topic, her confused mind grasping at straws, "By the way, where’s Julius Shaw?"
Godfery’s expression changed slightly.
