Reborn on Wedding Night: Flirting the Cold Bigshot into Blushes-Chapter 324: A Family of Three at the Art Exhibition
Nancy got out of the car and saw Sophie sitting at the entrance of Ink Manor with her little dog.
Upon seeing Nancy, the little dinosaur wagged its tail, and Sophie ran over to Nancy.
"Mom."
"Woof woof."
The person and the dog surrounded Nancy, the heaviness in her heart dissipated, and she reached out to pick up Sophie.
The little dinosaur followed behind them, wagging its tail as it walked inside.
Joy and harmony were abound.
Sophie wrapped her arms around Nancy’s neck, her voice excited, "Mom, do you know? Mr. Parker picked one of my paintings and wants to hang it in his exhibition. He said it wasn’t just for Grandpa’s sake that he chose mine, but because he really appreciates my work."
Nancy nodded and said softly into Sophie’s ear, "Our Sophie is already amazing and paints beautifully."
Sophie smiled brightly, "Grandpa says I am a lot like Mom and that our paintings both carry emotions. But Grandpa won’t let me see Mom’s old paintings, only those from the old district."
Nancy understood why the teacher did that; her paintings from that time conveyed emotions too despairing and frantic and weren’t suitable for Sophie to see. The ones from the old district were her works before rebirth, less dark.
Nancy said softly, "After the exhibition, I’ll draw for our Sophie to see myself."
Sophie’s eyes sparkled, "Really?"
"Really."
"Great, Mom, I love you so much!"
Sophie hugged Nancy’s neck, her small face pressed against Nancy’s face.
Holding Sophie, Nancy entered Ink Manor.
Robert Reed was already packing their luggage.
In the huge suitcase were all Sophie’s things: clothes, shoes, baby cream, small drawing board, regular medication, and even two little toys.
Seeing Nancy return, Robert Reed jokingly complained, "This little girl insisted on waiting for you to come back to celebrate before leaving. Have the talks been settled? We need to go now; we should be at the airport two hours early. Emma’s waiting in Capital City."
Sophie, satisfied with Nancy’s promise to draw for her, nodded happily.
Suddenly, Nancy stopped Robert Reed; he looked at her perplexedly.
Nancy wrote, "Wait for me a bit, I want to go with you too."
Sophie was instantly delighted, "Mom is going with us too?"
Robert Reed was also surprised, having not expected Nancy would want to come; she’d been absent for five years, during which he and Emma had managed all of Sophie’s affairs, so subconsciously he hadn’t thought of Nancy.
But how could Nancy not go? She owed the child so much; of course, for the art exhibition so important to the child, she was going to accompany her.
Actually... Godfery Shaw should come too.
But let’s forget it; Godfery is busy.
Seeing Nancy was going, Robert Reed immediately nodded and called Emma, "Lewis, cancel this flight for me and Sophie, and book the next one."
From quite a distance, Nancy could hear the exclamation on the other end of the phone, "Mr. Reed! At this time, if you arrive in Capital City, it’ll be dark. Booking a later flight will just delay little Sophie’s rest!"
Robert Reed moved the phone away a bit, "Nancy said she’d go with us."
The other end paused, and Emma immediately said, "Alright, I’ll change the flight."
Robert Reed hung up the phone and couldn’t help but complain, "See, I say to change the flight and it’s delaying Sophie’s rest, but Nancy wants to go, and she doesn’t question it at all. That youngster just likes opposing me."
Nancy was amused and wanted to remind him it wasn’t a youngster; Emma is a girl.
Emma immediately changed the flight and booked tickets for everyone.
Sophie accompanied Nancy upstairs to pack up the luggage.
They were going to stay in Capital City for two days over the weekend.
Sophie, like a little adult, methodically instructed, "We need to bring your medicine, Mom; you take so much more medicine daily than I do. Everything needs to be packed. Grandpa said towels and toiletries don’t need to be brought, Aunt Lewis will arrange everything for us there. Mom, you’re afraid of the cold, bring two thicker coats."
Sophie repeated the packing instructions Robert Reed gave her to Nancy, quite methodically.
Nancy followed them all with a smile.
It’s often said that children’s first teachers are their family and parents around them.
Sophie had indeed been taught well.
Emma’s efficiency was high; she booked a flight half an hour later.
Once Nancy finished packing, everyone went out together.
Before boarding the plane, Nancy hesitated but finally sent a text to Godfery Shaw, "I have an errand to run, back in two days. I won’t come tomorrow noon."
Nancy knew that if she didn’t mention such things beforehand, Godfery Shaw might wait all the while.
The reply from the other end was almost instant, "Okay, take care when going out."
Godfery Shaw didn’t even ask where Nancy was going.
Just like how Nancy hadn’t been home for so long last time, yet upon return, Godfery Shaw didn’t ask anything.
Even if he knew she had things on her mind, he gave her the utmost freedom.
Several people boarded the plane.
Sophie was very much like Nancy, both the type to fall asleep on car rides and flights.
Once the plane took off, the big and small leaned against their seats and began to sleep.
Robert Reed was flipping through a book.
By the time they arrived at the Capital City, it was already eleven at night.
Sophie, refreshed from her nap on the plane, energetically held Nancy’s hand, looking around.
"Sophie, over here, I’m here~" Emma shouted from a short distance ahead.
Sophie saw her, eagerly pulling Nancy along.
Emma took Nancy’s suitcase and jokingly complained, "This flight actually got delayed; I’ve waited half an hour. How are you guys? Any motion sickness? Are you tired?"
Sophie smiled and said, "Aunt Lewis worked hard, making you come to fetch us so late."
Emma hadn’t seen Sophie for days. Holding a suitcase in one hand, she picked up Sophie with the other, affectionately touching Sophie’s face with her own and speaking in a joyful tone.
"Oh my little Sophie, how are you being so thoughtful now? I’ve missed you dearly. Need clothes? Toys? I’ve got two sets of limited-edition Lego, will give them to you later. Why’s my little Sophie slimmer, is Old Mr. Reed being too strict with you again?"
Emma secretly made the last remark.
But because of excitement, both Nancy and Robert Reed heard it.
Even at his age, Robert Reed couldn’t help but roll his eyes like a young person; what kind of talk is this?
Every time, Emma acted as if he mistreated Sophie; with him around, would Sophie lack anything? What a joke!
Emma took them to a pre-booked five-star hotel.
The hotel reception couldn’t help sneak glances their way, thinking they were a family of three with the elder.
Mostly because this trio is too good-looking!
Hands down, a handsome rich gentleman and a beautiful wealthy lady.
Emma booked two suites.
The receptionist, with a smile, handed over the room cards, "Sir, Madam, here are your room cards, rooms are on the third floor, 8899 and 7899, we hope your family enjoys the stay."
Emma’s attire and looks were very dashing, often making even Robert Reed occasionally forget if she was male or female, let alone others.
Emma didn’t refute the receptionist’s ’sir and madam’ comment, instead reached out and hugged Nancy, like affirming they were a family of three.
While the actual family of three’s member waited quietly in Riverwood City.
