Reborn in the Survival Adventure Game-Chapter 86: Guild System
Chapter 86 - 86: Guild System
It started with a strange hum in the air.
A low, sticky sound, like something bubbling under the soil. Then the earth trembled—not enough to knock things over, but enough to make Caelen freeze mid-bite at breakfast.
He stepped outside.
The woods beyond the southern ridge shimmered with an unnatural energy. Birds scattered. Even the wind felt off.
Caelen squinted. Then he saw them.
"Zira! Get Garin! Now!"
Dozens of slimes oozed out from the tree line, glistening blobs of green and purple. And behind them, shadows moved—something bigger, snarling and slow.
Within minutes, Zira, Garin, and a handful of villagers stood around Caelen, staring into the woods.
"They're not scouts this time," Garin muttered. "That's a whole invasion."
Caelen activated his Scan. freeweɓnovel.cѳm
[Area Scan Active]
Red dots bloomed across the map like a rash.
"It's because of the energy," Caelen said. "Too much noise. Too much magic. We're a signal fire in the dark now."
Zira frowned. "What do we do?"
Caelen stared at the slimes.
"We fight. But we organize. No more random defense teams. We create a Guild."
Garin raised an eyebrow. "A Guild?"
Caelen nodded, voice steady. "A system that pays people for helping. Hunt monsters, bring proof, earn coins. We motivate them with rewards."
"So... fight for food?" Zira asked.
"Fight for fairness," Caelen said. "Everyone helps. Everyone earns. No more sitting around eating for free."
By noon, the town bell rang.
The townspeople gathered near the town hall. Caelen stood on a wooden crate with Lirae at his side, holding a chalkboard.
"We are starting the Guild System," Caelen announced. "A way to protect ourselves and earn from it."
Murmurs rippled.
"Starting today, anyone can take a hunting job. Bring back monster parts, get paid in coins."
Lirae flipped the board.
Guild Quests:
3 Slime Cores = 10 Coins
1 Wild Wolf Fang = 15 Coins
1 Large Lizard Hide = 30 Coins
Rare Monsters = 100+ Coins (assessed)
"What about injuries?" someone asked.
"We train in pairs. No one fights alone. We'll also set up a healing tent," Caelen replied.
A young elf raised her hand. "Can we make teams? Like adventuring groups?"
Caelen smiled. "Yes. We call them parties. You can name them too."
Excitement sparked.
Dorgrim laughed from the back. "So we're all adventurers now? Gods help us."
"We help each other," Caelen said. "That's what matters."
That afternoon, the Guild Booth opened beside the town hall.
Lirae managed sign-ups and payouts. Wooden quest tokens were handed out with each job.
"Three slimes? That'll be 10 coins," she said, scribbling a name into her logbook. "Next!"
Teenagers who had never held a weapon before now marched out with spears and kitchen knives, their eyes wide but burning with determination.
"Poke, then dodge! Don't let them touch your boots!" a boy shouted.
By sundown, tokens came back with slime cores and bloodied rags.
And smiles.
Lirae turned to Caelen. "They actually worked."
"They just needed a reason."
That night, Zira visited Caelen at his home.
"It's dangerous," she said. "Some of them are too young. Too weak."
Caelen looked up from his table. "They'll grow. We all did."
Zira hesitated. "You believe in them more than they do."
Caelen leaned back. "Someone has to."
"You're turning them into warriors."
"No," he said quietly. "I'm giving them a reason to stand up. Monsters are coming. We either fight together... or fall apart."
Zira watched him for a long time. Then she nodded. "Then I'll help train them."
Caelen smiled. "I was hoping you'd say that."
By the second day, the monsters came harder. Wolves. Lizards. A slime the size of a hay wagon.
But this time, they weren't caught off guard.
Villagers defended in shifts. Kids helped prep meals and bandages. Builders reinforced fences and watch towers.
Even Dorgrim joined the forge, crafting cheap swords for new recruits.
And Lirae's board grew longer.
New Quests:
Guard the Gate: 8 coins
Patrol the East Ridge: 12 coins
Deliver Healing Herbs: 5 coins
People weren't just surviving anymore. They were growing.
Garin grinned as he watched a trio of goblins return with wolf fangs.
"Bronze rank soon," one of them said.
"I told you stabbing it in the belly worked!"
Caelen stood nearby, arms crossed.
This wasn't a perfect world. But it was changing.
One quest at a time.
