Reborn In the Apocalypse: My Hotel Has Unlimited Supplies-Chapter 54: The Warehouse Incident and Calling Reinforcements
"The female protagonist is coming, she’s about to encounter the male lead, the plot is advancing by two months!!!"
Little Fox’s voice was chattering away in Chu Jiangyue’s mind, making her head buzz.
"Are you planning to stay at Jianglin Hotel? A group of teachers and students just arrived at Jianglin Hotel and filled up all the rooms."
Knowing there were no rooms left at Jianglin Hotel, perhaps they wouldn’t linger there for long?
Otherwise, Little Fox would keep getting jumpy, which would only trouble her mind.
"Ah! No rooms left?"
Jin Churan was somewhat disappointed. He had praised Jianglin Hotel to the skies to his sister and her teammates, never expecting that upon their return there would be no rooms available.
The others exchanged looks; it was because of Jin Churan’s recommendation that they wanted to check out Jianglin Hotel.
They never expected to meet the boss halfway, who directly informed them there were no rooms left.
"That’s the situation for now, but the hotel has restocked some items that you can purchase and take to B City Safety Base."
Though she hadn’t been to B City Safety Base, the fact that they could invest a large sum just to build a road connecting to Jianglin Hotel indicated that the authority of the base should be a good leader who cares for the people.
"That’s all we can do for now, but Boss Chu, if there’s a room available, be sure to notify me. We’ll check in immediately."
Jin Churan had stayed at Jianglin Hotel for a few days and knew the quality of their rooms, so he would choose Jianglin Hotel if rooms became available.
The others weren’t as persistent as Jin Churan; they just watched Chu Jiangyue, curious about what capability she had to dare run a hotel in such times.
"Just pay attention to the hotel announcements, that’s all. If there’s nothing else, I’ll take my leave. Suit yourselves."
Since they were acquaintances, Chu Jiangyue didn’t categorize them as survivors needing her rescue, nor did she plan to bring them along.
Of course, Jin Churan and his group noticed Chu Jiangyue’s silver SUV. Though they wanted a ride, there were too many of them to easily ask.
The only remaining usable vehicle they had was the electric scooter Jin Churan rented from Jianglin Hotel; all others either had no charge or fuel, and were completely unusable.
Chu Jiangyue turned back to the silver SUV, while Jin Churan watched expectantly, hoping she would offer them a ride spontaneously.
Unfortunately, Chu Jiangyue missed the signals entirely and drove away from their sight.
"Sis, aren’t they coming with us?"
In the car, a little girl looked at Chu Jiangyue in confusion, thinking she would bring people along.
"They can take care of themselves; there’s no need for me to do anything unnecessary."
After answering the girl, Chu Jiangyue urged Little Fox in her mind to find people.
"Host, host! There’s a warehouse over there with dozens of people inside."
Chu Jiangyue had already driven quite a distance from Jianglin Hotel, encountering more people.
Upon hearing that there were dozens of people, Chu Jiangyue’s eyes sparkled; the more, the better.
She drove with a clamor to the warehouse entrance and as she got out, suddenly a zombie lunged at her, and Chu Jiangyue instinctively kicked it away.
Basic zombie, without even a Crystal Core, Chu Jiangyue didn’t spare it a look.
"Woo woo..."
"Baddie! Baddie! Let go of me! Don’t bully mom!"
"Haha! The little brat is quite stubborn!"
The warehouse wasn’t soundproof, and from outside, Chu Jiangyue heard obscene words that were hard to ignore.
Hearing the child’s cries and a woman’s suppressed whimpers, Chu Jiangyue’s rage surged.
This apocalypse hadn’t lasted long, and yet some people couldn’t restrain their human evil.
"Host, there are too many of them, we can’t beat them..."
The main issue was their side was too few in number, and they didn’t have any formidable weapons; it could protect the host, but not others.
"Don’t worry, I have my plans."
Of course, Chu Jiangyue wouldn’t foolishly get herself in trouble. She opened her virtual panel and began to gather people.
— Boss Chu: "Location," who’s nearby? Can you come over?
Then she hit send to all.
— Shen Zhigui: We’re nearby, just finished off a wave of zombies, Boss Chu, hold on 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢
As soon as Chu Jiangyue sent the message, Shen Zhigui instantly replied.
— Song Chengjun: I’m on the way back to the base, sorry
— Ling Feng: Ah, I should have taken another route today. I’m too far to make it over
...
In the end, only Shen Zhigui and his group of five were nearby, but considering their strength, Chu Jiangyue thought it was enough.
After confirming they would come, Chu Jiangyue prepared to get out of the car.
"Stay here, don’t open the window, don’t get out of the car, even if there’re zombies, don’t be scared, they can’t get to you."
Having said that, without waiting for the girl to speak, Chu Jiangyue got out of the car and kicked the warehouse door open.
"Who’s there!"
As the door opened, the first thing Chu Jiangyue saw was a man as fat as a pig lying on top of a woman, his shirt off, but trousers still on.
A group of people were around, grinning at the scene; opposite them, a seven or eight-year-old child was being held against his will but still struggling and yelling.
For the outing, Chu Jiangyue wore a tracksuit with her hair tied in a ponytail.
From head to toe, she looked impeccably clean, unlike someone living in a post-apocalyptic era.
Compared to Chu Jiangyue, the woman with the child paled in comparison.
"Yo! It’s a little lady! Boss, we’re in luck today!"
Nobody thought a woman like Chu Jiangyue could stir any trouble among so many of them.
The woman who’d been helpless against the pig-like man’s assault suddenly snapped and bit into the man’s greasy hand hard.
"Ah! You damn wench, you dare to bite me! You must be tired of living!"
He exclaimed, slapping the woman hard across the face.
The woman’s face instantly swelled, but she still didn’t release her bite and looked towards Chu Jiangyue: Run!
Chu Jiangyue couldn’t bear it any longer and activated her superpower, transforming into a vine with sharp thorns.
The vine quickly moved toward the man being bitten by the woman.
"She’s a superpower user! Stop her!"
Seeing the thorned vine whip in Chu Jiangyue’s hand, the woman slightly relaxed.
In order to dodge the vine’s attack, the man vigorously pushed her away and kicked her aside, turning to aggressively deal with Chu Jiangyue.
"A superpower user? Let’s see if your vines win or my fire ability!"
Saying this, the man activated his power too, and a small flame instantly ignited in his hand.
However, the flame looked much smaller compared to Lin Xuyuan’s and Jin Churan’s.
Chu Jiangyue snorted, expertly flicking the thorned vine whip, directly lashing the man’s body.
The thorns tore away chunks of flesh instantly, and the scent of blood filled the warehouse.
"Fire ability? I’d say it’s more like a flicker! With you as boss, your gang must be incredibly kind-hearted."
