Chapter 466: Chapter 466 Side by Side in Battle (2)_1

The Beast Tamer old man’s chilling words caused everyone’s expressions to change simultaneously. This was a forbidden land; only those with absolute strength could enter and leave freely. Additionally, criminals were also cast into this place. Among each clan, a few relatively strong individuals always emerged, but many more perished in the back mountains. They had never imagined that the outstanding members of their clans had all died at this old man’s hands.

They had originally thought it was the ferocity of the animals within the forbidden land, but it turned out that ferocity was only part of it. The other part was this old man scheming in the shadows. This was why countless elites from their clans had been lost, and also why entry was forbidden unless a clan had an exceptionally powerful Young Master.

It seemed the reason the beasts could be provoked tonight was because of the identities of five of them, which had made this old man determined to ensure they died here.

"Hmph, you sure talk big," Shangguan You said, looking at the expressions of Zhuge Feng and the others, then giving a cold sneer. Ye Sanshao, on the other hand, crossed his arms and watched the Beast Tamer old man with a look of intrigue.

"Uncle, what do we do?" Zhuge Feng asked, speaking softly into his uncle’s ear. Although their expressions were calm and they were floating in mid-air, many of the surrounding trees had already been flattened. The moment they landed on the ground, they would die amidst the swarm of beasts.

Zhuge Feng’s gaze swept over the dark mass below and then the encircling birds in the distance, his mood growing heavy. Even as strong as they were, they could not fight off so many ferocious animals.

"HAHAHA! I might not be good at many things, but I am quite confident when it comes to beast taming," the old man cackled. "Don’t think that just because you’re not coming down from mid-air, I have no means to deal with you. And I don’t make empty boasts. Tonight, none of you will leave here alive."

"You wrap yourself up like this; could it be that you’re even uglier than I am? HEHEHE," the Beast Tamer old man glanced at Shangguan You’s long beard and her draping black robe, then sneered eerily.

"I consider myself peerlessly handsome, a world apart from you; there’s no comparison. The reason I don’t show my face is that I don’t want you to die of shame. So, I’ve covered my features—consider it sparing your feelings." Shangguan You secretly curled her lips and then continued coldly, "This Young Miss is afraid you’d feel inferior, that’s why I covered up. Otherwise, if you saw how This Young Miss looked, you might not survive the shock and die of a cerebral hemorrhage. Then, the art of beast taming would be lost to the world once again."

The Beast Tamer old man snorted coldly, ignoring Shangguan You’s taunts. His venomous gaze swept over Bai Muxue, Fang Jianfei, and Zhuge Feng, before it finally rested on the other Zhuge Feng. If looks could kill, these four, who were the most outstanding in appearance, would have long since died under the old man’s gaze.

The corner of the Beast Tamer old man’s mouth curled up coldly as he took out a wooden flute-like object and placed it to his parched lips, blowing a mournful tune. The previously calm animals once again became restless, the larger ones pacing back and forth uneasily.

"Are those bee swarms?" In the dim, star-sparse mid-air, the mournful sound echoed unceasingly as a dark mass approached from the distance.

"Those are Poison Peaks, along with Feiyi!" Zhuge Feng exclaimed, his black robe flicking. The foremost flying Poison Peaks were already being swatted down, and urgency laced his voice.

"KEKEKE! First, try out my flying army!" the Beast Tamer old man cackled. Poison Peaks buzzed, flapping their wings. Accompanied by Feiyi, bats, and Vultures, they surrounded them from all sides.

"Let’s stand back-to-back in a circle! Make absolutely sure not to be bitten by the Poison Peaks or Feiyi, or our lives will be in danger!" As Zhuge Feng spoke, his dark figure moved to stand beside his nephew, Zhuge Feng, enveloping him completely in his protection. Shangguan You stood between the nephew and Ye Sanshao. Bai Muxue and Fang Jianfei were by Ye Sanshao’s side, while Li Zhaolei, seeking safety, clung fearfully to Zhuge Feng, the family head.

Though he was seriously injured, Zhuge Feng was still the head of the family. By his side, Li Zhaolei felt somewhat more at ease, hoping he could even gain some advantage. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖

"Everyone, keep your distance and be extremely careful!" Zhuge Feng shouted, his hands already swinging, creating strong gusts with his palms that swept towards the approaching Poison Peaks.

SWOOSH! A batch of Poison Peaks was swept away, but more quickly took their place, enveloping the seven in an almost impenetrable darkness that obscured their figures.

"HEHEHEHE!" The Beast Tamer old man, seated atop the lion, cackled strangely while watching the seven people surrounded in the middle. The beasts below moved incessantly to and fro, just waiting for them to succumb and fall from above, conveniently into their stomachs.

"Enjoy this soul-stirring sensation!" the Beast Tamer old man chuckled creepily, delighted at their disheveled state and happy to finally have company.

"Such hospitality will naturally be well reciprocated," Shangguan You laughed coldly. A sweep of her wide robe cleared a swathe of Poison Peaks. Her movements were no slower than those of Ye Sanshao and Zhuge Feng; the moment she cleared them, both men simultaneously swept out with their palm winds.

The Poison Peaks couldn’t get close to them for the moment. Fang Jianfei slashed with his sword, instantly spilling blood as a swath of Vultures fell dead. Bai Muxue delivered a timely palm strike, killing any stragglers caught in its wind.

Li Zhaolei, though eager to find an advantage, discovered that some Poison Peaks still remained where Zhuge Feng’s palm wind had passed. With seven people each guarding a direction, he had to use all his strength just to stay alive.

All of them remained on high alert, their strikes merciless. Ye Sanshao swept out with his palm wind, then retracted it, a look of disdain flashing in his eyes.

With a slight turn of his hand, a barrier formed around him, protecting him completely. He stood with his arms crossed, a faint smile playing on his lips, watching Shangguan You in this manner.

Shangguan You continuously channeled Spiritual Energy in her hands, knocking the surrounding Poison Peaks to the ground. Her movements were fluid and exceptionally fast, not allowing a single Poison Peak to get near her. "Careful, to your left!"

"Careful, to your right!"

"Careful, up front!"

Ye Sanshao watched leisurely from mid-air, occasionally reminding Shangguan You about the Poison Peaks near her. In such a dire situation, Ye Sanshao was as relaxed as if he were in his own garden, speaking nonchalantly as though the scene before him was of no concern. Shangguan You’s lips twitched fiercely a few times as she observed Ye Sanshao beside her. She noticed the thin, seemingly life-like barrier in front of him, blocking the Poison Peaks. Anything that touched it didn’t even struggle before falling away in pieces.
