Chapter 27: Chapter 27 Change Fate 2_1

Sitting quietly on the Purple Lotus, strands of Spiritual Energy flowed into her body at a rate several times faster than usual. An inexplicable joy surged in her heart; she hadn’t expected the Purple Lotus to be so magical, capable of gathering Spiritual Energy and providing a shortcut for cultivation.

After a while, having circulated the Spiritual Energy throughout her body for one full cycle, she hopped down from the Purple Lotus. She sat quietly in the garden filled with herbs and casually picked a fruit to eat.

Thinking about her current situation, even though she had unexpectedly discovered this space, her strength wasn’t strong enough yet—she hadn’t even mastered the first level of the Medicine King Canon.

She vowed to avenge herself and reclaim what she lost bit by bit. The original owner of this body had suffered too much injustice and had been kidnapped; she would investigate and avenge these wrongs. Now, being cast out, the first step she needed to take was to return to Beijing. Although she could go back during the holidays, go to her mommy’s place, how could she leave when her debts were still unpaid?

Meanwhile, in Beijing, Shen Cheng and Wanqian enjoyed limitless glory. She did not actively inquire or investigate their matters; she was waiting for an opportunity.

As soon as the chance arose, she would destroy them bit by bit, turning all they had into nothing. She would smile as she watched all those who owed her cry.

Zhuge Feng must already be in Beijing by now, advancing her plan step by step, slowly drawing them into deep waters...

"Youyou, are you in there?" Zhu Li’s voice sounded, followed by a knock on the bathroom door.

Shangguan You startled, then flashed out of the space.

"Yeah, I’m almost ready."

"We have plenty of time, Youyou, take your time bathing," Zhu Li stretched and yawned, before rolling back into the soft embrace of her princess blanket.

When the bathroom door opened and Zhu Li saw the person who walked out, her eyes widened in disbelief. Her Youyou was so beautiful—she had not expected that the girl behind the glasses was so outstanding. Her crystal-clear skin seemed to drip with moisture, and those delicately featured, sparkling eyes—how could they not belong to a beauty? She couldn’t understand why she had previously thought Youyou to be so ordinary.

"Come back to reality," Shangguan You said with a faint smile at the corner of her mouth, fully aware of her transformation.

"Miss, let the chauffeur take you to the hot spring resort," Zhang Ma chuckled, observing the two of them. They were dressed identically: beige sweaters, denim pants, casual shoes, and even the same socks. One might have mistaken them for twins if not for Shangguan You’s inherent cold and noble aura and the fact that she was nearly a head taller than Zhu Li.

"You look beautiful in any clothing, Miss. You’re even more beautiful without the glasses; you really don’t need to wear them anymore," Zhang Ma said, filled with praise as she saw the smile on her mistress’s face. Her heart overflowed with gratitude for Zhu Li. In Zhang Ma’s eyes, Zhu Li had brought her reclusive, shy mistress out of her shell. Consequently, she attributed Shangguan You’s transformation to Zhu Li’s influence.

"Zhang Ma, are you saying I don’t look good?" Zhu Li pouted and acted coquettishly toward Zhang Ma.

"Look at me, saying the wrong thing. Miss Zhu is also very beautiful."

"Zhu Li, get in the car," Shangguan You said to Zhu Li, who was hesitating outside. She opened the car door and pulled Zhu Li in.

"Youyou, can you really drive? Maybe we should just hail a cab outside. If something happens on the road, it won’t be good," Zhu Li insisted, clinging to the car door. Youyou was the same age as her, just sixteen. Could she even drive? Even if she could, Zhu Li was not comfortable with the idea. Her life was precious, and she didn’t want it to end prematurely. Though driving herself would bring a great deal of satisfaction, that meant nothing compared to her life.

"Zhu Li, you should trust me; I’ve been driving for over ten years, steadier than any instructor. Let’s go," Shangguan You said, firmly pushing Zhu Li into the car. She did not want to ride in cabs—getting in was easy, but getting back would be difficult. Without driving herself, whom would she have to blame if left stranded?

With a press on the accelerator, the car shot forward.

"Youyou, slow down, slow down," Zhu Li screamed in terror as the car swiftly sped away.

On this pleasant day with warm sunshine, winter giving way to spring, it was the perfect time for a soak in the hot springs. Although the hot springs did not have the benefits of the Spring Water from her space, she thought a proper indulgence could help her relax.

Driving along, Shangguan You skillfully maneuvered the car around the twisting and turning slopes. The smooth road zigzagged upwards like a serpent. The hot spring resort was situated on the outskirts, built against the mountainside. The hot springs were completely natural; the guide even mentioned that the hottest spring could boil an egg.

Throughout the trip, Zhu Li shed her timid and scared demeanor, chattering nonstop. Although she was a local from B City, the resort was a luxury reserved for those with means; hence, the chance to go there was thrilling for her.

The road followed the coastline towards the top of the mountain, with other vehicles whizzing by at high speed. Shangguan You drove with ease, enjoying the breeze. Suddenly, a sharp pain struck her chest, and a loud BANG resonated in her head. The road before her blurred, and a flickering image became increasingly clear in her mind.

An oil tanker came barreling from the opposite direction and collided with a black sports car—with a loud CRASH, sparks flew, and the cars instantly burst into flames. She watched helplessly as her car plowed into the wreckage, too late to hit the brakes.

Screaming in horror, she watched as both she and Zhu Li were engulfed in flames.

"Youyou, what’s wrong with you?" Zhu Li’s concerned voice broke through as Youyou screamed, insisting they should have taken a cab.

With a SCREECH, the car halted by the roadside. Shangguan You slumped over the steering wheel, gasping for air. The vision had been so real that she believed they were truly consumed by fire.
