Chapter 121: Chapter 121: Disappearance (3)_1

"Zhuge Feng, how are you holding up?"

As another mouthful of blood spewed from Zhuge Feng’s mouth, he struggled to see who had come. Upon recognizing the figure, his heart stirred with a complex mix of excitement and worry. She had finally arrived, albeit a bit late. That’s for the best, as it means she won’t get hurt.

"Quick—leave! It’s dangerous here."

Zhuge Feng felt an unbearable, suffocating pain in his chest once more as his breathing grew labored again.

"Zhuge Feng, you must hold on," Shangguan You commanded, her expression colder than ever before. She didn’t understand why the water suddenly seemed alive and so drawn to the scent of blood. But he was one of hers, and she would not allow anything to harm him—not even this inexplicable water.

Shangguan You quickly took out several Jade Dew Pills and fed them to Zhuge Feng, but before he could swallow, they were sprayed back out with the blood from his mouth. They had no effect.

"Just wait for me." A glint of cold light flashed in Shangguan You’s deep eyes as she channeled all the Spiritual Energy in her body into her hands and struck towards the water column binding Zhuge Feng.

With a SWOOSH, the Spiritual Energy, as thick as fingers, struck the water column wrapped around Zhuge Feng. The water column burst into droplets with a SPLASH, quickly falling to the ground and vanishing. Zhuge Feng’s body dropped from midair, and Shangguan You caught him, gently placing him on the ground.

"Eat this." Shangguan You took out a bottle of Jade Dew Pills, poured out several, and fed them directly into Zhuge Feng’s mouth. In a flash of golden light, the Plum Blossom Needle appeared in her hand. With another flash, eight Golden Needles were inserted into the major acupuncture points on Zhuge Feng’s body, slowly restoring his damaged physique.

PFFT! Zhuge Feng spat out another mouthful of bloody water, and the pain in his chest slowly disappeared. A warm sensation rose from within his body, and his whole being felt much more relaxed. The strength he thought he had lost gradually returned.

"Good. Now eat one of each of these, and use this for your external wounds." Shangguan You took out several different elixirs from her space, had him consume one of each, and also produced some antiseptic medicine for the bleeding.

With a wave of her hands, the Plum Blossom Divine Needle returned to her grasp. Only after ensuring Zhuge Feng was unharmed did Shangguan You turn her attention back to the eerily behaving water columns.

The water column around Zhuge Feng dispersed but did not leave; instead, it joined the water columns around Meiyi and the others, intensifying the force binding them.

They spat out blood profusely. The once-clear water columns were now tainted red, revealing a lurid glow within their clarity. Moreover, the water columns seemed to grow increasingly excited.

"Young Master, quick, leave!" Meiyi urged, spitting out another mouthful of blood. He felt his blood slowly depleting, his strength ebbing away. The grip around his chest grew tighter, making breathing more and more difficult.

This water is too peculiar. He considered himself to have seen many odd things, but never had he encountered a situation like this.

He could die, but the Young Master must leave. With every bit of energy he expended, the water column around him grew stronger, drawing power from his body. If these water columns drained all their energy, it would become even harder for the Young Master to escape.

A flash of icy light glinted in Shangguan You’s deep eyes as she coldly watched the small lake’s waters convulse continuously. Are they this excited because of the fresh blood?

"Let’s go," Zhuge Feng said as he stood up, his complexion pale from excessive blood loss. He looked at Meiyi and the four others, who were still trapped, with no intention of assisting them. In fact, he hoped these five would die here. This lake is too bizarre, and he wasn’t sure if the water columns would attack them too. It’s better to leave.

For his own sake, and for Shangguan You’s, he didn’t want her to stay here any longer. This lake is too peculiar. He would have this lake filled in tomorrow! Then see how it could be so disturbingly peculiar again! Zhuge Feng thought bitterly.

Shangguan You glanced indifferently at Zhuge Feng, then at Meiyi and the four others. A cold smile touched the corners of her mouth. It seems Zhuge Feng’s internal injuries were their handiwork. These five had a grudge against Zhuge Feng. To dare harm someone she considered hers—they were simply courting death!

However, this small lake is too strange. With such a menace left unchecked, who knows when the lake might go mad again? She can’t always be by Zhuge Feng’s side to protect him. This seems like a good opportunity to uncover the lake’s secrets. Ever since that odd old man appeared earlier today, everything has seemed suspicious.

"Wait over there for me," Shangguan You said softly. Her body leaped into the air, soaring towards the sky above the small lake. Zhuge Feng is an ally; she has no concerns for his safety. As for Meiyi and the four others, in her eyes, they’re as good as dead. Their fate is of no concern to her. Now that they’ve seen too much, if they survive, she’ll ensure they never speak of it again.

The lake water churned, SWISHING loudly, as Shangguan You could acutely feel its excitement. She watched the giant vortex in the middle of the lake. Is this the cause of the lake’s anomaly? Shangguan You recalled the pulling force in the lake’s waters from earlier that day as she observed the water binding Meiyi and the four others in a spread-eagled form in midair.

CRASH! A massive water column surged up from the vortex, splitting into numerous water strands that wrapped around Shangguan You. She leaped higher, but relentless water columns surged forth from every direction to entangle her.

"Damn it," Shangguan You cursed under her breath as her ankles were ensnared. A powerful suction force gripped her ascending body, tightly arresting her flight and slowly pulling her down. She rapidly directed the Spiritual Energy in her hands at the incoming water columns.

Wherever the Spiritual Energy passed, the water columns, with a SWISH, quickly dispersed into droplets that fell back into the lake. Now, with both hands, she continuously channeled the Spiritual Energy from her body to scatter the surrounding water columns. However, the ones around her ankles grew more excited and forceful; the originally finger-thick water column was now as thick as a wrist.
