Reborn ghost seeing lady is pampered by her ex husband-Chapter 550: Is Phoebe the grand guardian?
As they were pondering on how to move Sabrina in and out of the Saxon tower regularly without raising eyebrows, Phoebe and Maureen's phones buzzed for the twentieth time since morning.
The buzzing was from calls and texts from Jennie who was growing impatient because they were yet to go home and yet it was the day of Collin and Shanna's wedding.
A wedding that had been pushed and extended one time too many. Phoebe texted back and informed her mother that they would be home in thirty minutes.
The Saxon spirit meanwhile took pity on the distressed humans and decided to provide the answer. "I never said that there was no solution." A smile formed on its lips, when it finally had their attention, the spirit jutted its chin towards Phoebe's direction.
"Pheebs?" David gasped out, dropping his arm protectively around her. He was tired of all the world's burdens being given to her. Wasn't it enough that she had to see ghosts, help them, save lives, fight demons and a myriad other supernatural related things? All of which were risky. "Can't someone else do this." He muttered.
"But of course, I am the solution somehow, I am not even surprised." Phoebe stated, her eyes rolling upwards as if to ask the heavens for help.
Maureen shook her head disapprovingly. "I will vote no before we even begin, she is pregnant. I need to hear what her role is in this, and the risks involved." Her voice was a blade unsheathed in defense.
Feeling like it had been insulted, the spirit's eyes grew wider. "You think that I would intentionally put Pheebs in harm's way! That is absurd! Just so we put it out there, I have been protecting Phoebe for much longer than you guys." It spoke sharply, fixing Maureen with a steely gaze.
"My bad, I blame the gremlins in my head." Maureen folded her lips. She did not want ice eyes, thunder invoking Saxon spirit on her ass.
Letting out a tired breath, the spirit chose to drop the matter. "Anyway, Phoebe has a special connection to the crystals so she can siphon that energy from the crystals and pass it on to Sabrina." It informed them.
"Huh!" Rufus responded in total surprise.
"How?" Rekha asked, wondering what kind of connection was there.
The spirit scratched its ear and answered Rekha's question with a blank gaze. "Let us go to the crystal deposit first because we need to confirm this theory." It suggested.
Rufus did not waste time he led them through a secret door that led to a go down. They walked through a corridor then an old elevator which took them further down. After what felt like a long journey to the bottom of the earth, it made a stop, and they got off.

They found themselves in what looked like a fortified cave. It smelled like fresh sage and citrus, despite being in the underground it had no smell of soil. It was not damp either, in fact it was comfortably warm. The walls lit up as they walked, small insects that glowed blue detached from the wall and flew above their heads.
"What the hell is this place? I did not even know that it existed in this house." David's eyes darted around. Aside from the glowing walls, there was not much to see except for a big and tall iron door that had strange markings written in an old language. Aside from the markings, there were two images of what Phoebe was sure were thunderbirds on the door.
Phoebe stood still, her ears alert for she could hear whispers from beyond the gate. Magic that felt warm coursed through her body and filled her veins. It was almost like as though the crystals were welcoming her.
"I hear them, they are talking to me." She murmured.
Star shifted. "So can I" She responded abruptly.
Reading and joining the symbols to answer a puzzle was the only way to get in. Phoebe started reading the markings even before reaching the iron gate. Rufus stared at her in shock. She was already moving forward, rushing as if the crystals had told her to hurry and go to them.
"How do you know what the mean?" He asked her.
She did not hear what he said because she was rapidly whispering and tracing symbols on the iron door. When she went silent, she put both hands on the door, pushed and it opened immediately. The brightly glowing crystals were revealed immediately. Thousands of them forming a hill.
The hill of crystals was protected by a wall into which runes had been curved. They lit up like a river of golden fire as soon as Phoebe stepped inside.
Stunned, Rufus hastily stepped back. "That has never happened before! W-what is happening?" He asked, shifting his eyes to Phoebe.
She looked almost like an ethereal being, her eyes were shut with her arms spread forward. A smile tugged on her lips while her red hair was flying in the air. Energy was escaping from the crystals and entering her body.
"The connection that I told you all about, this is it." The spirit voiced out. "Can you see that?"
Shaking her head, Maureen fast approached Rufus. "Mr. Saxon according to the books, only one person can control pure light magic enchanted stones without even trying....."
"The grand guardian." He blurted out and jumped in before she could finish, Rufus tugged at the front of his thinning white hair. "That is it! She is the grand guardian, and she will save us all." The last words came out inform of a whisper.
Rekha fell to her knees; she had read the books and stories about the grand guardian were taught from the first year at the academy. She just could not believe that Phoebe was it! All this time she had been in the presence of greatness without even knowing it.
She had always known that Phoebe was special, but she never thought that she was this special. This was legendary special.
The only person too stunned to speak was David, he watched Phoebe's glowing eyes, her whole body was glowing red and blue, like fire and water. In her eyes, it was as if she had stars for pupils.
She did not look human; she looked like something out of a magical storybook or a dream.
