Reborn for Revenge: Find her Fated Alpha-Chapter 56: Killian losing control
It was unbearable.
Killian never thought that watching the girl who used to roam around him now dancing freely with other men hovering around her would be so difficult.
"Alpha Killian, let’s go dance." Hannah held his hand, but the man pulled his hand before sipping the beer.
"You dance," He said, his gaze not leaving Amelia at the hall’s center, socialising with everyone.
She looked happier in this strange pack with everyone than she ever was in her healer community. This place looked more like her home.
Everyone was trending to her like she was some kind of queen or their Luna, and Killian heard it was all because she was healing Luna Camila or had taken responsibility for that.
He acknowledged Amelia was truly gifted. Her healing abilities were something no one could match.
Wasn’t that the reason why he had run to her the first thing when his mother got terminally ill, and the girl smiled and cured his mother?
Wasn’t that exactly what she had used against him to be close to him? Wasn’t that what Hannah told him?
Then what happened suddenly? Why was she not interested in him anymore? Just because of that ditch incident? But that wasn’t the first time she was left alone.
Then why?
Killian looked at Amelia, who was attracting the attention of all the unmated males in the room, and he felt a pang of jealousy in his heart.
It was getting more unbearable with each passing second.
He downed his seventh glass of beer before he walked to the hall.
"Let’s dance," Killian held Amelia’s hand.
Amelia, who had been chuckling at Aaron’s Gamma’s joke about how she should start charging a fee for solicited advice on health issues because that was what she had been doing since she arrived at the party, turned around with shock written all over her face.
She looked at her hand in Killian’s hand and remembered how he had held the same hand in a past life when he had betrayed her, her body repulsed.
"Leave my hand, Alpha Killian," Amelia said through gritted teeth.
Killian looked at the girl’s hazel eyes and chuckled.
"Why? What happened? Are you not smitten with my charm anymore? Does my presence not make you nervous and wet anymore?" Killian stepped close to her, invading her personal space.
Amelia didn’t like it. She could feel his wolf was trying to take over, and he was barely holding onto a thin thread.
Something was provoking him, and she had no idea what it was.
Her gaze met with her sister, who stood at some distance with a permanent glare.
Right. Her sister must’ve done something to provoke him. The fact that they couldn’t see her happy, even for one night, burned like acid in her throat, and Amelia’s jaws clenched in hatred that she barely masked.
"I don’t like you anymore, Alpha Killian. Let’s not make a scene here," Amelia said.
Killian’s gaze darkened at her clear words.
She didn’t like him anymore. She had made it clear. And it was the same thing that bothered him. Why did she not like him? What changed?
"Why? Weren’t you the one who used to kneel before my pack and sing her undying love for me? So what happened now? Is it because you found these triplet brothers? Is it because you think I won’t be able to satisfy you anymore and you want three men instead who could make you a whore and –" Killian started.
However, Amelia raised her hand and slapped him hard before he could finish his insulting sentence.
Everyone fell silent.
Tears welled in her eyes as she looked at Alpha Killian in disbelief.
"Amelia!" Killian growled at the girl, his eyes turning golden.
It was one thing that she didn’t like him anymore, but slapping him? How could his wolf take it?
Amelia shrank in her place, remembering the way he had humiliated her in the last life, almost selling her to a brothel of old men.
The triplet brothers, who had gone to offer the cake to their mother after Amelia’s permission, heard the commotion and immediately rushed to the hall.
They knew things weren’t good when they saw Amelia’s expression and Killian’s golden eyes.
Ryan didn’t waste a second rushing and standing before Amelia, pushing her behind him.
"What is going on here?" Ryan asked.
Killian scoffed.
"This is what you want? Three men barking at your beck and call? Is that why you don’t like me anymore? Tell me, Amelia," Killian extended his hand and pinched Amelia’s cheeks.
Her body trembled in humiliation at his words, and her eyes burned with unshed tears. However, she didn’t expect her mark to burn, just like it did earlier.
"I said, don’t touch me!" Amelia roared, her loud voice leaving everyone speechless as she grabbed the dagger from Ryan’s pocket and sliced Killian’s hand.
It was a small cut, but it left everyone speechless.
Ryan pushed Killian away when he noticed Amelia was losing it. He hid her face in his chest as she cried.
"Don’t touch me," She sobbed.
Ryan’s heart broke at the pain in her voice, and he caressed her hair.
"Shhh, he is not touching you anymore," Ryan said.
Aaron and Derrick stood there, equally shocked.
Killian stumbled back, looking at his hand, which was healing slowly.
She didn’t make a deep cut, probably because she didn’t want to harm him, but just warn him.
However, the hatred in her voice was enough for him to wake up and push his wolf back.
He looked at the girl’s trembling form, and his fists clenched.
What the hell did he do? He made her hate him even more.
Everyone was surprised, but the person who was the most shocked was Hannah, who raised her brows.
Did Amelia really retaliate with a dagger at Killian? Why was it so hard to believe?
Killian, consumed by guilt, stepped forward.
"Amelia, listen to me. I didn’t mean to scare you," Killian said gently. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚
Amelia, still sniffing, scared to her wits as her past trauma started reacting, clenched her fists before she stepped away from Ryan.
"I need some time," She said to no one in particular.
Seeing her leaving, Killian was about to hold her hand again to stop her when Ryan had his hand.
"Let’s not make things tough, Killian," Aaron said.
"Stay out of it, Ashborn," Killian said.
He stepped forward to follow Amelia again, but Derrick stood before him.
"She is our guest and under our protection for now," Derrick said.
"You!" Killian tried to push past him, but the man didn’t allow him to do so.
Killian lost his temper and punched Derrick.
Things tensed in the hall, and Aaron growled at Killian, punching him square in the face in return.
When Alpha Zane noticed things turning bad, he stepped between the two alphas and pushed Killian and Aaron away.
"Guys, this is a party. Can we enjoy it?" Zane asked, his authority making them scoff at each other.
However, no one spoke up as Zane was senior to them, and they needed to respect his stance, too.
Killian wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth before walking to the bar and downing another drink.
"I think I should check on her," Ryan said.
"I think you should give her some time," Jennifer suggested.
Everyone nodded at her words, and Ryan sighed, looking in the direction Amelia had left.
Amelia went to the pack house’s backyard to calm her emotions a little before she walked to the bench in the furthest corner and sat on it.
She closed her eyes, letting the cold wind caress her cheeks.
She didn’t want to lose her calm, nor did she want to appear weak, but how could she control her memories that triggered when he looked at her like that and said those humiliating words?
"I failed myself," Amelia said to herself.
"In that case, should I start by burning Killian’s pack, or should I start with slicing his tongue for spouting those words to hurt you?"
Amelia heard the familiar, cold, and deep voice behind her.
Her pupils dilated, her heart skipping a beat at the familiar presence.
