Chapter 90: The Auction (Part-8)

Nigel and Rose stared at her in amazement.

They had long known that Origin Medical Hall sold potions like Strength Boost Potions and Detoxification Potions, but Bone Cleansing Potions were on an entirely different level.

Strength Boost Potions were rare, yes, but their formulas were relatively widespread. With effort and connections, one could still find them.

Bone Cleansing Potions were different.

Only a handful of alchemists across the entire Holy Mystic Continent could make them, and their formulas were closely guarded secrets.

For Zora to take out Bone Cleansing Potions meant only one thing—her background was far deeper than anyone had imagined.

Nigel and Rose exchanged a glance, both seeing the same disbelief in each other’s eyes.

She had once been known as the abandoned daughter of House Phoenix, ignored and ridiculed for years. Yet now, she stood at the center of the storm, revealing one shocking card after another.

Zora noticed their expressions and simply smiled, unbothered.

Some questions, she had no intention of answering.

At least, not today.

She was not General Helius’s biological daughter. From the very beginning, she had been searching for her true parents.

Even if others doubted her identity, so what?

She was no longer the Zora who could be trampled on at will.

After the initial shock, Nigel and Rose quickly stopped dwelling on the matter. Zora was their friend. Seeing her rise so brilliantly only filled them with pride and joy, as if it were their own achievement.

Inside the No. 1 VIP box, Philip’s heart was also in turmoil. Although he already possessed one Bone-cleansing Potion, the royal family had many members. Obtaining another would never be a bad thing.

At that moment, Arley’s voice echoed through the auction hall once more.

"There are three Bone Cleansing Potions in this auction. Originally, they were supposed to be one item, but in order to give everyone more opportunities, we have decided to auction them separately!"

The moment those words fell, excitement surged through the hall.

One Bone Cleansing Potion was already difficult enough to compete for. Three meant hope. Real hope.

Prime Minister Henry, who was seated in the first-class section and also maintaining low key status just like the Crown Prince, felt his blood boil. His recent days had been nothing but humiliation and frustration. Now, the only thing he could do was improve his daughter’s strength.

No matter what, he had to obtain this Bone Cleansing Potion.

"The first Bone Cleansing Potion will now begin its auction!"

Arley paused briefly before continuing, his tone calm yet sharp.

"Everyone knows that Bone Cleansing Potions are priceless treasures. They are nearly impossible to find on the market. Therefore, this potion has no reserve price and no minimum increment. Bid as you wish!"

Zora’s eyes flickered slightly. This move was brilliant.

With a reserve price, bidders could roughly gauge the item’s value, limiting how high the final price could go. Without one, uncertainty ruled, and greed would push the price higher and higher.

"Master, this Auction House really knows how to squeeze out every last gold coin," Black chuckled.

White nodded in agreement. "They’ve completely hooked everyone."

Zora smiled faintly. The auction house’s methods were indeed sharper than she had expected.

"10,000 gold coins!" a man from the third-class seats suddenly shouted.

The hall froze.

Ten thousand gold coins?

For a Bone Cleansing Potion?

The surrounding gazes instantly turned strange. This price was laughably low. Even outside an auction, a Bone Cleansing Potion would never sell for such an amount. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦

The man himself flushed red under the scrutiny. As an ordinary cultivator, ten thousand gold coins were already a fortune to him. Only then did he realize how absurd his bid sounded among nobles and powerful houses.

Before anyone could react further, a calm voice rang out from the No. 1 VIP box.

"100,000 gold coins."

In a single sentence, Philip raised the price tenfold.

Several people sucked in a sharp breath.

Only then did many remember that the Crown Prince was present.

With his royal status, who would dare compete with him?

For a moment, the entire auction hall fell silent.

Even Arley hesitated slightly. Seeing no one continue bidding, he had no choice but to proceed.

"100,000 gold coins, first call!"

"100,000 gold coins, second call!"

"100,000 gold coins, third call! Sold! Congratulations to His Imperial Highness the Crown Prince!"

As the hammer fell, a woman in a red dress stepped onto the platform and respectfully delivered the Bone Cleansing Potion to Prince Philip’s VIP box.

The first Bone Cleansing Potion had found its owner.

And the storm had only just begun.

A soft sigh rippled through the hall. The first Bone Cleansing Potion had ultimately fallen into the hands of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince.

"If it weren’t for the Prince stepping in," Nigel said with emotion, "the price of that first Bone Cleansing Potion would never have stopped there."

Rose nodded in agreement. "That’s why alchemists hold such an exalted position on the Holy Mystic Continent. A single potion they refine can drive countless cultivators mad."

Then she hesitated and added, "Do you think His Royal Highness intends to take all three potions?"

Nigel considered briefly before shaking his head. "Unlikely."

As if on cue, Arley’s voice rang out again from the platform.

"The second Bone Cleansing Potion, bidding begins!"

"100,000 gold coins!"

The opening bid sent another wave of shock through the crowd.

This time, however, the bidder was not Prince Philip, but Prime Minister Henry.

At that sight, Zora’s lips curved slightly. Fate truly enjoyed arranging narrow encounters.

Once everyone realized it was not the Crown Prince bidding, the atmosphere instantly loosened. Though Prime Minister Henry’s status was high, there were still plenty who dared to compete.

"110,000 gold coins!"

"120,000 gold coins!"

The bidding quickly resumed, voices overlapping one another. Prime Minister Henry’s expression darkened slightly.

Just then, Serestia rushed back into the hall. Seeing that the second potion was already being auctioned, she joined without hesitation.

"150,000 gold coins!"

"160,000 gold coins!" Prime Minister Henry countered immediately.

"170,000 gold coins!" Serestia frowned. This price had already far exceeded that of the first potion.

Yet Prime Minister Henry showed no intention of retreating. He knew well that the final potion would only fetch a higher price. If he missed this one, the third would be even harder to secure.

"200,000 gold coins!"

That single bid silenced the competition.

Serestia clenched her teeth but ultimately withdrew. Given Scarlett’s current situation, she could understand Prime Minister Henry’s determination. Still, she was convinced that the third potion would be hers.

As expected, the second Bone Cleansing Potion was secured by Prime Minister Henry, and the auction moved on to the final potion.

"150,000 gold coins!"

Serestia opened aggressively, raising the price high enough that many cultivators abandoned the idea of bidding altogether.

Whispers spread through the hall as countless gazes turned toward her. For ordinary practitioners, such numbers were nothing more than distant fantasies.

Bathed in those astonished looks, Serestia felt a surge of pride. She lifted her chin slightly, daring anyone to challenge her.

Then a calm, icy voice drifted down.

"150,000."

The smile on Serestia’s face froze.
