Reborn as the General's Useless Daughter-Chapter 221: Battle against the Abyssal Crocodile (Part-3)
Another scream rang out. A spirit warrior was bitten directly by the Abyssal Crocodile, its jaws snapping shut with brutal force.
Crunch!
The beast chewed twice before swallowing the man’s arm whole.
A thick yellow glow surged across the Abyssal Crocodile’s body. As its wounds increased, so did its ferocity, and the number of injured spirit warriors rose rapidly.
"I never thought a Yellow-realm demonic beast could be this terrifying," Baldwin murmured, his face pale with shock.
He had always known that Yellow-realm beasts were fearsome, but only witnessing it firsthand did he truly understand the gap. In his eyes, these experts were already incredibly powerful, yet before The Abyssal Crocodile, they seemed fragile.
This was the true terror of the innate realm.
"Will the mentors be alright?" Sylvandria’s voice trembled, her face full of fear. She
Compared to the others, Sebastian and Miel were not the strongest present. Now, both had already suffered injuries.
Blood stained the corner of Sebastian’s mouth. He had taken a heavy blow, and in a battle like this, a single mistake could cost him his life.
"I believe the mentors will be fine," Reesa said quietly, her eyes fixed on the battlefield, worry tightening her chest.
Raphael and Alaric Von Seraph wore equally grave expressions.
"The Abyssal Crocodile has already been injured under the combined attacks," Alaric Von Seraph said slowly. "I believe it won’t be able to hold on for much longer."
Raphael nodded. "Yes. To bring it down, we’ll need a decisive, heavy strike."
Only one overwhelming blow could end this brutal battle.
"Kael."
As Zora’s voice fell, she and Prince Kael exchanged a glance. No words were needed. In that brief moment, they both understood exactly what the other intended.
The next instant, under everyone’s stunned gazes, the two figures shot forward, heading straight toward the Abyssal Crocodile.
"What are they doing?"
Reesa cried out in alarm. The Abyssal Crocodile was a Yellow-realm demonic beast. With Zora’s cultivation, charging forward like this was no different from courting death!
Her exclamation drew countless eyes to Zora. Shock rippled through the crowd.
The combined strength of so many experts had yet to bring down The Abyssal Crocodile. What could the two of them possibly do?
"This Zora really doesn’t know her limits. She’s just rushing to her death!" Fiona sneered, malice flashing in her eyes.
After the humiliation she had suffered earlier, she was desperate to regain face. If Zora died here, all her previous embarrassment would vanish with her.
"I didn’t expect the Imperial Prince to be strong, yet have such terrible taste in women," Fiona added coldly. "Dragging himself into danger for her."
Her words carried open disdain, mixed with resentment. Prince Kael’s repeated rejection had already planted hatred deep in her heart.
"They’re being far too reckless," Zephrin frowned. "In this situation, charging in is no different from suicide."
Even Elowen, who usually remained calm and detached, could not hide her confusion. The Abyssal Crocodile was injured, yes, but it was still terrifyingly strong. Rushing forward now seemed utterly irrational.
"Perhaps they have confidence," Sigmund said lightly, though the faint curve of his lips betrayed mixed emotions.
For talented competitors, losing two rivals was never a bad thing.
Guinvere, who had remained composed all along, finally showed a change in expression when she saw Prince Kael rush out.
"Kael..."
Her brows knit together as she watched the black-and-white figures streak forward. No one here understood Prince Kael’s strength better than she did. After knowing him for so many years, she was certain of one thing.
He was not acting on impulse.
The Prince must have a plan.
Prince Kael himself was slightly surprised that Zora followed without hesitation. Yet when he caught sight of her resolute expression, a faint smile curved his lips.
They were not charging in to fight head-on.
They were going to strike.
"You take the left, I’ll take the right," Zora said quickly as they neared the massive beast.
"Alright," Prince Kael replied without hesitation.
In the next breath, the two split apart, darting toward opposite sides of the Abyssal Crocodile.
Seeing this, Sebastian and Miel’s hearts leapt into their throats.
"What nonsense is this?" Sebastian shouted, both furious and anxious. "What are you two doing here?"
In this chaos, even seasoned experts were struggling to protect themselves. How could they possibly spare attention to guard Zora and Prince Kael?
The Abyssal Crocodile’s attacks were brutal beyond measure. One misstep, and death would be certain.
Zora turned her head slightly, a calm smile on her lips despite the danger.
"Mentor," she called out, her voice steady, "don’t worry about us."
Her composure only made the scene feel even more unreal.
Sebastian and Miel were both stunned when they heard Zora’s calm reply.
In such a perilous situation, there was no time for careful deliberation. Yet, both mentors shared the same thought almost instantly. Prince Kael and Zora were not reckless people. If they dared to rush forward at this moment, they must already have a plan.
Before anyone could react further, Zora suddenly moved.
Her figure flashed like lightning as she leapt onto the massive back of the Abyssal Crocodile.
The moment the beast sensed someone climbing onto it, its enormous body began to thrash violently, shaking with all its might in an attempt to fling her off.
Zora steadied herself, sword clenched tightly in her hand. Her gaze was locked onto the bloody wound already torn open on the crocodile’s back.
Without the slightest hesitation, she raised her blade and drove it down with ruthless precision.
Chi!
A sharp, piercing sound rang out as the sword plunged deep into flesh.
"ROAR!"
The sudden, searing pain sent the Abyssal Crocodile into a frenzy. Its roar shook the air as it went completely berserk.
The surrounding experts were instantly forced to retreat. Once the Abyssal Crocodile entered a violent rampage, its destructive power became terrifying beyond measure.
All eyes widened in shock as they watched Zora cling tightly to the beast’s back. No matter how violently the Abyssal Crocodile thrashed, her figure remained firmly anchored, like a nail driven into its spine.
Even more chilling was what followed.
Zora repeatedly stabbed into the same wound, again and again. Fresh blood surged out unceasingly, soaking her clothes until they were stained a deep, glaring red.
Even Sigmund and the others could not hide the shock in their eyes at this sight.
To climb onto the back of the Abyssal Crocodile already took extraordinary courage. To remain there, calmly and relentlessly attacking while the beast went berserk, was something few would even dare to imagine.
"Good... Lord...," Reesa muttered, her mouth hanging open. "Zora is way too fierce..."
She had never expected Zora to be this decisive and brutal. The mighty Abyssal Crocodile was being driven into a miserable state.
Baldwin swallowed hard. If he hadn’t seen it with his own eyes, he would never have believed such a scene.
"Facing a Yellow-realm demonic beast head-on like this..." he murmured. "I’m afraid there’s no one else who could do this besides Zora."
Alaric Von Seraph and Raphael Yu remained silent, but inwardly they had to admit it. This method Zora chose was shockingly effective.
In such a short span of time, the injuries on the Abyssal Crocodile had already worsened drastically.
Fiona, who had been mocking Zora just moments ago, fell completely silent. At this point, there was nothing she could say. Any criticism would only make her seem ridiculous.
"This Zora..." Zephrin narrowed his eyes slightly, a faint smile appearing. "She really isn’t simple."
Guinvere’s expression turned subtly complicated. A faint, uncomfortable emotion flickered through her eyes.
