Chapter 159: The quiet talk (Part-3)

But if they truly had fallen, she would let the entire House Griffin pay the price.

Prince Kael reached out, resting his hand gently on her shoulder, patting it with quiet reassurance.

"My wife," he said softly, "we’ll take this one step at a time. The truth will eventually come to light."

Feeling the warmth and steadiness of his touch, the chill in Zora’s eyes eased slightly.

She looked up at him, her clear, bright eyes shimmering with complex emotion.

In the beginning, she had only said a few words.

Yet Prince Kael had done so much for her in silence.

After returning, he had already been burdened with countless matters. Even so, he left Alder behind to protect her, sent people to investigate House Griffin, and personally searched for news of her parents.

He had thought of everything.

Far more than she had ever expected.

Zora had always believed in one principle: Respect me, and I will respect you in return.

What Prince Kael had done for her, she remembered clearly. Every single bit.

"Thank you," she said sincerely, emotion glinting in her dark eyes. "For helping me look into all of this. You’ve gone to a lot of trouble."

Seeing that she had not been swallowed by grief, Prince Kael finally felt some relief.

Only after hearing the truth did he fully understand just how heavy the hatred resting on her shoulders truly was.

House Griffin...

Compared to that supreme martial family, even the entire Elysia Empire was nothing more than a fragile tile. One touch, and it could shatter. The two were never on the same level.

House Griffin had stood upon the Holy Mystic Continent for countless years. Its roots were tangled deep into the soil of history, its alliances complex and intertwined. Such a force could not be challenged by a single person, no matter how brilliant.

On the Holy Mustic Continent, new powers rose every day, and old ones fell just as often.

Yet once a force survived long enough to become a true behemoth, its fall became extraordinarily difficult.

Why?

Because of heritage.

The so-called skinny camel was still larger than a horse.

Once a power reached a certain height, even decline was merely a period of silence. Give it time, and it would breathe again.

Prince Kael did not know whether Zora fully grasped the weight behind the name House Griffin. He feared that if he explained too much, she might either be crushed by the immensity of it... or consumed by vengeance.

Neither was what he wished to see.

Fortunately, Zora was never an ordinary woman.

"I just want you to be happy," Prince Kael said softly, his voice warm and sincere.

Zora’s red lips curved faintly. Her expression remained calm, without the slightest ripple.

"I understand," she replied evenly. "One day, I will uncover every truth. Everything House Griffin destroyed... I will make them return it a thousandfold."

Cold light flashed through her dark eyes, sharp and devouring, carrying an arrogance that seemed capable of swallowing heaven and earth.

She had never cared how vast an enemy was.

Nor had she ever learned the meaning of the word fear.

She knew only one thing.

A woman could shape her own destiny.

People cultivated not for empty glory, but to live freely, to do what their hearts demanded.

If one abandoned even their blood-deep hatred out of fear, then what was the point of martial cultivation at all?

She was Zora.

And she had never bowed to anything.

Once she chose a path, she would walk it to the end.

Prince Kael felt his heart tremble as he looked into her eyes.

Within that unwavering gaze, he saw confidence, persistence, and a fearlessness that refused to yield.

His master had once told him that the most important thing for a spirit warrior was an unafraid heart.

Few possessed it.

That was why his master had chosen him.

And now, he realized something with quiet astonishment.

His woman possessed that same heart.

In that instant, Prince Kael smiled.

They truly were... made for each other.

"You’re right," he said, his voice low and resonant. "So what if it’s House Griffin? Things are done by people. As long as we have the resolve, success is never impossible."

A bloodthirsty, arrogant smile curved at the corner of his lips. The domineering aura of a king who feared nothing spread from him, vast and unrestrained.

His eyes shone with confidence and brilliance.

To live, to struggle, to seize what one desired. That was the true meaning of existence.

Zora looked at him, a strange glint flickering in her eyes.

Then, slowly, she smiled.

It seemed... their thoughts aligned perfectly. "You don’t think my thoughts are unrealistic?"

Zora lifted her eyes, the phoenix-like pupils bright and clear. A captivating smile curved across her face, light yet fearless.

Prince Kael answered without hesitation. The corner of his lips rose in a wicked, confident arc as one arm settled naturally over her shoulders.

"As long as it’s what my lady wants to do, this husband will walk with you."

"Unrealistic to others, perhaps," he continued lazily, voice low and magnetic. "But for us... that doesn’t necessarily apply."

Zora’s red lips curved even higher.

Today, she had finally confirmed it.

They truly were the same kind of people.

People who did not understand fear.

On her shoulder, Black leaned toward White and whispered, "Do you think Master and Prince Kael look alike?"

White nodded with deep agreement. "No wonder they can become a pair. Both of them are more monstrous than we are."

For ordinary people, making such a decision would sound insane.

But for these two, every word spoken had already passed through layers of calculation.

Zora had once been a family head in her previous life. She understood better than anyone how difficult it was to destroy an ancient family. And precisely because she understood, she also knew that no power was truly invincible.

Nothing lasted forever.

It was only a matter of time before someone stronger appeared.

Shihtzu, nestled in Zora’s arms, raised its head, glancing between its master and Prince Kael. Even it had to admit that these two were genuine anomalies.

If these two joined forces without fear... House Griffin’s future was likely far from peaceful.

"So," Prince Kael asked lightly, eyes glinting, "what does my lady plan to do next?"

Zora shrugged casually.

"Food must be eaten one bite at a time. Steps are climbed step by step."

"With my current strength, I’m still far from breaking House Griffin’s teeth. So naturally, I cultivate, I grow stronger."

"When I have enough ability," she said calmly, "then I will contact House Griffin."

She had waited fifteen years already.

Waiting a little longer meant nothing.

Prince Kael nodded in approval. "A very wise decision."

Long-term goals were built on solid steps. Rushing only led to ruin.

"You can rest assured," he added. "I’ll continue investigating House Griffin for you."

"That would trouble you."

"Between you and me..." Prince Kael leaned close, his breath brushing her ear. "Why speak of trouble?"

The warmth sent a ripple straight down Zora’s spine. Her ear tip trembled, and she quickly took two steps back, face slightly flushed.

This man really had no sense of propriety.

Prince Kael noticed the faint redness creeping up her neck, and the amusement in his eyes deepened.

His lady... was truly adorable.

Zora had her long-term goal.

And Prince Kael had his.

She would not give up.

And neither would he.
