Chapter 156: To me, you’re not just a physician

After Raphael returned to his residence, Alaric Von Seraph and Sylvandria went to find him.

"When you investigated Zora back then," Alaric Von Seraph asked, "why didn’t you discover that she was already married?"

What had happened today was far beyond anything they had anticipated.

Raphael let out a soft sigh. "I only looked into her life in the General’s Manor. I didn’t investigate what happened after she left..."

Now that he thought about it, Zora had seemed like she wanted to say something to him back then. Unfortunately, someone else had interrupted, and the topic had never been brought up again.

"So that’s how it was," Alaric Von Seraph said quietly, his gaze complicated. "We always heard that Elysia’s Prince Kael was crippled, unable to walk. Yet today, he appears like a true dragon among men."

Sylvandria’s delicate face flickered with surprise. "Prince Kael of Elysia?"

The disabled prince of Elysia was famous throughout the land. She had known of the crippled prince, but she had never connected him with Prince Kael.

"No wonder," Sylvandria murmured, unable to hide her amazement. "Zora and Prince Kael... they really suit each other."

Their pasts were strikingly similar. Both had once been ridiculed and trampled upon, yet after their marriage, it was as though they had both been reborn.

With their current bearing, no one would ever associate them with the bullied general’s daughter and the crippled prince of old.

Raphael and Alaric Von Seraph exchanged looks, both feeling an indescribable strangeness.

Zora’s transformation alone had already shocked them. Now, Prince Kael’s appearance added another layer of disbelief.

Suddenly, Alaric Von Seraph’s eyes lit up. "Zora is the master of the Origin Medical Hall, and she’s well known to be a divine physician of Elysia’s Imperial City. Could it be... she is the one who cured Prince Kael’s legs?"

The moment he said it, Raphael and Sylvandria’s eyes brightened.

After all, Marcus’s case had already proven Zora’s medical prowess. Even poisons that left the vice principal helpless were easily resolved by her hands.

If she had healed Prince Kael’s legs, it would make perfect sense.

And yet... realizing it only made the pair seem even more astonishing.

"I’m afraid... that really is the case." Raphael’s eyes flickered with thoughtful light as he slowly nodded.

Zora was truly an extraordinary woman. Ever since her appearance, everything around her seemed to undergo earth-shaking changes.

"And this Prince Kael is no simple character either," Alaric Von Seraph said quietly, his gaze deep and distant. "I once heard that Prince Kael of Elysia was born crippled and bullied everywhere. Yet now that his legs are healed, his strength has soared to such a degree... It’s clear that his cultivation was never ordinary to begin with."

He paused, his voice lowering. "At the very least, I can’t see through his cultivation."

The calm, magnetic tone carried a complicated weight. Alaric Von Seraph’s expression remained cold and restrained, giving away nothing of his inner emotions.

Raphael nodded in agreement. "Yes. His strength... is unfathomable."

Sylvandria’s eyes widened in disbelief. "Even the two of you can’t see through him?"

Among spirit warriors, only those with vastly superior strength could completely conceal their cultivation from others. If even Alaric Von Seraph and Raphael were unable to discern Prince Kael’s level, then his strength was truly terrifying.

Even if Prince Kael were slightly older than them, such a gap was still shocking.

"It seems his purpose in coming to the academy isn’t cultivation at all," Alaric Von Seraph continued, his tone sharp with clarity. "I’m afraid he came entirely for Zora."

With a little thought, everything fell neatly into place.

"This prince is absolutely not ordinary," Raphael said softly, the light in his eyes carrying wisdom... and a trace of bitterness he didn’t voice. "And Zora clearly holds a very important place in his heart."

If what they assumed about Prince Kael’s strength was true, there was no need for him to remain in the academy. Yet he came anyway, solely for Zora.

That alone spoke volumes.

In terms of appearance, strength, and sincerity, Prince Kael was flawless. Paired with his obvious devotion to Zora, the two truly made an enviable match.

Sylvandria felt her thoughts ripple uneasily.

Zora had once borne the name of a useless waste, yet in Sylvandria’s eyes, Zora was outstanding in every way. Her medical skills were peerless, and her talent in alchemy was nothing short of monstrous.

Such a perfect woman, forced to live under ridicule and scorn for 16 long years... it was simply unbelievable.

Were the people of Elysia blind?

Otherwise, how could they trample upon a treasure like her and treat her as trash?

As Sylvandria’s expression shifted, Alaric Von Seraph spoke again, his tone firm. "No matter what Zora’s identity is, she is our friend."

Sylvandria’s heart jolted.

Senior... was he taking a stance?

This was the same man who usually remained detached from worldly affairs, yet now he spoke so decisively. Clearly, he was guarding against any rumors or speculation that might harm Zora.

Raphael nodded as well. "Yes. We only need to remember one thing. Zora is our friend. That’s enough."

Meanwhile, Zora led Prince Kael on a brief tour of the academy before bringing him to the special enrollment dormitory.

Looking at the nameplate newly hung on the door next to hers, she couldn’t help but marvel at the academy’s efficiency.

"So fast," she murmured inwardly.

She pointed toward the room beside her and said, "This is your room."

Prince Kael’s gaze settled on Zora’s side. His lips curved slightly as he smiled and said, "Madam, won’t you invite me in for a seat?"

"The new dormitories all have the same layout," Zora replied calmly. "If you want to sit, you can go straight into your own room."

The smile at Prince Kael’s lips deepened, a trace of amusement flashing in his eyes. "The lady’s room is always different. Last night was far too rushed. I didn’t get the chance to look carefully... I’m afraid I still need to make up for it."

As his words fell, a faint flush crept onto Zora’s face.

She naturally understood what he was implying. If she hadn’t been prepared back then, wouldn’t this fellow have taken full advantage of her?

Shameless. Truly shameless.

"Hmph." Zora turned and pushed the door open. "Come in."

The smile on Prince Kael’s face widened as he stepped inside her room.

Though his wife was more than capable of standing on her own, when it came to such matters, she was still a little shy. That realization softened something deep in his heart.

"Are you really planning to cultivate here at the academy?" Zora asked, her delicate face tinged with doubt as she looked at him.

The academy was indeed an excellent place of cultivation for most practitioners, but that was mainly for those at lower levels.

Black and White had already told her that Prince Kael’s strength was terrifyingly high.

Anyone whom those two little troublemakers acknowledged as "strong" was certainly no ordinary expert.

For that reason, the academy offered Prince Kael very little actual benefit.

Prince Kael smiled warmly, an evil glint flickering through his charm. "Wherever my lady is, that is where your husband cultivates."

Zora shot him a sideways glare. This man truly had no sense of restraint.

"Stop joking around. I’m asking you seriously."

Her dark eyes were clear and steady, her expression perfectly composed.

Prince Kael’s smile softened. "I’m serious."

Zora fell silent.

Just as she was about to speak, she caught the depth and solemnity hidden in his eyes.

He wasn’t joking at all.

What she couldn’t understand was this: why would someone like him choose to stay in the academy just to be near her?

With his status and talent, Prince Kael was a man born to stand above the masses.

To completely eliminate the curse within his body, he still needed many rare medicinal herbs. She had already told him exactly what he needed.

He could have searched for those herbs on his own and returned once he had them. Staying in the academy to cultivate now felt like a waste of time.

"If it’s for your body," Zora said slowly, "you can come find me after you’ve gathered the medicinal materials."

Prince Kael looked straight into her eyes, a complex light flashing through his dark pupils.

"However, to me, you’re not just a physician."

Before she could respond, he continued calmly, "And cultivation is cultivation, no matter where it’s done. You don’t need to worry about me."

Zora fell silent once more.
