Chapter 205: To be famous

Dorian looked towards the window.

Hovering outside the window was Ciel, her dragon wings flapping back and forth as she stared at her master from behind the window.

"Ciel..."

Dorian stood up from the bed after gently placing the book he was reading. He then proceeded to stride towards the window to open it for her.

The moment he did, Ciel flew straight into the room, her wings closing shut before she went to her knees, her head bowed in respect to her lord.

"Master, I have returned."

Dorian stared at her for a while and then sat at the edge of the window.

"Quicker than I expected. How did it go? Anything I should be worried about?"

He did send her to look after Seraphina in Sualan; the fact that she was back without any distressing signal being sent beforehand meant that the mission was successful without any unusual issues.

Still, it didn’t hurt to confirm.

Ciel responded, slightly raising her head to look at him.

"It went well, I assume. Before I and my dragons arrived to where Lady Seraphina was, she had completed her task and was headed back home already."

"..."

"From what I heard, she had a duel with the prince and she won. Which led to the deal being finalized. I know nothing about the details."

Dorian sighed.

’I picked her specifically to go because I thought she could avoid any violent confrontation if it was thrown her way. I see now that I was wrong.’

He continued, this time uttering out loud.

"Where is she now?"

"I believe she is at the main mansion."

"Then I’ll be headed there too. We’ll move as soon as I have changed my clothes and freshened up."

Once he was done meeting with Seraphina and Maria, he would make his way to the capital, since he still had a few things he needed to discuss with the King.

With his Father already out on their vacation, enjoying HIS retirement, most of the duties were solely on his head.

As promised, Dorian made his way towards his main mansion, while leaving Ishtar back in the City of Ishtar so she could settle down her unfinished business there.

Although, initially she was really adamant on him not going. It took a lot of convincing for him to finally find a way to leave without hurting her.

Once he arrived at the main mansion, riding behind Ciel and a group of dragons tailing behind them, he immediately went to meet both his wives inside.

As he opened the door, the first thing he took notice of was Seraphina sleeping on the bed in her white lingerie and Maria at the window, cleaning her blade with a napkin.

The moment he walked in, both of them immediately looked at him.

"Darling~ You’re back!" Seraphina was the first to speak.

She got up on her knees, a smile on her face while her eyes were glued to her husband.

It was then followed by Maria, taking a few steps forward.

"Welcome back, My Lord," she uttered, far calmer than Seraphina.

To think a time would come when two beautiful women would be so excited to see him coming back home. It truly lit a small flame in his chest.

With a smile on his face, Dorian walked towards the bed and laid down there.

"I can see you two are doing great," he uttered, his back on the ground and his attention on the ceiling.

Maria and Seraphina had already moved close to him.

While Seraphina was at the left side, already playing with his hair, her soft and tender lap close to his face, Maria sat at the other side, staring at him with her beautiful red eyes.

"If you’re asking about my pregnancy, I am doing well. For the most part," Maria was quick to respond.

A part of that came from a guilty conscience, and the other part was to stop Seraphina from saying anything that would cause Dorian to worry.

After what they ran into the other day, it was best they kept it a secret, at least until they understood what was going on.

Seraphina, immediately understanding what Maria was doing, decided to play along in her own cute way.

Because she panicked for no reason at all, she grabbed Dorian by the cheeks and kissed him.

When she pulled away, her cheeks were beet red, gawking back at Dorian.

"What was that for?" Dorian asked with a slight chuckle.

It wasn’t like Seraphina to give him a kiss like that out of nowhere. That was something Ishtar would do without giving it a second thought.

"N-nothing. I missed you, that’s all." Seraphina let out the best reply she could in that moment.

Maria could not help but shake her head at the embarrassing sight.

Then Dorian’s voice echoed again.

"If that’s the case, please don’t get mad when I say I will be heading to the capital tomorrow."

While Maria didn’t give much of a reaction, Seraphina on the other hand, pouted as quickly as possible.

"C-come on, don’t look at me like that. I already promised I would help the King with a city there. It will only take me a couple of days, nothing more."

Dorian’s expression didn’t change much, but the growing nervousness was obvious.

"Why? She is a King; she can handle her work herself. Why does she always need my husband’s hands to help her every time she runs into a wall?" Seraphina lashed out.

Dorian sighed.

"I wonder the same thing. She might be an excellent warrior, but she is still so poor when it comes to ruling a kingdom if it’s not with the topic of leading a war. She is more of a Commander than anything."

"If you are going, then I am going too."

"Not happening." Dorian immediately shot Maria’s suggestion down.

The look on her face was that of dismay, though she did well to maintain herself.

"If you are saying no because I am only a few weeks pregnant, then I assure you I can handle myself. Even if I can’t wield a sword, I can still act as your guard." She leaned forward, as if trying to convince Dorian with her eyes.

Dorian glanced in her direction.

"You say that, but the moment you see danger, you’ll head into battle. You’re a knight; it’s in your blood. Just stay home. You keep forgetting that I am a Dragon Monarch or whatever it’s called."

Just like Seraphina did a moment prior, Maria pouted as well, obviously not satisfied with his decision.

"I am afraid I have to agree with Darling on this."

"Not you too. You guys are speaking like I have some kind of illness."

"Well..." Seraphina pointed at Maria’s stomach. "You kind of do."

"I AM NOT SICK."

Though she didn’t yell, the mana spilling from her body said otherwise.

Dorian once again sighed.

"I can’t have you walking around while you’re pregnant. Besides, Mother is coming tomorrow as well, so I doubt she would let you leave so easily." Dorian hinted at the killer.

Maria’s lips parted as though she wanted to say something, but when she realized Stella was indeed coming, she knew she had no say in the matter.

A sad look played on her face, her gaze drifting to the side as she pouted even more.

Dorian simply closed his eyes, a single drop of sweat at the side of his face to show his relief.

If that wasn’t bad enough, his journey to the capital was not going to be any easier as well.

(Royal Academy)

Yelena, dressed in her uniform—a brown jacket with a white inner shirt, along with a pleated wine skirt—sat down comfortably.

The voices of the other students in the school’s restaurant echoed throughout the entire place as students were seated on different chairs to have their lunch.

Even then, about 80% of them all had their eyes on Yelena.

Why?

After the grand duel she had with a third-year, Steacy, news about how she turned her into a slave began to spread throughout the entire academy.

Not to mention, only a few days ago, another female student appeared—the daughter of the famous Duke Salvaina, Lady Elara.

She was said to be a prodigy as well, a Master-ranked mage with the ability to control and manipulate wind magic.

And yet, despite her status, she was serving under Yelena as a bodyguard.

If that wasn’t enough, the rumors of Dorian being a Duke and inventing new stuff for the kingdom also played a huge part in Yelena’s popularity.

She was made the student council president and granted access to every room in the academy, and it was also said that she was living in the same house with the principal, rather than staying in the student dorms like the rest of the students.

With all said and done, Yelena wanted none of it.

Not even a single bit of it.
