Chapter 498: Moment of Farewell ( 498 )

Suddenly

A calm, elegant voice broke the tense atmosphere.

“My, my, Young Master.”

Everyone turned.

Standing there with her arms neatly crossed in front of her was Mrs. Erinette.

The always-formidable, always-poised head of the household maids.

“A-Ah… Mrs. Erinette!”

Liana and Gloria instantly straightened, bowing perfectly with disciplined manners.

“Ah… Erinette…”

Javier muttered awkwardly, scratching the back of his head.

Smack!

A sharp slap landed squarely on his forehead.

“Ouch!” Javier yelped, rubbing his head.

Mrs. Erinette’s eyes narrowed slightly, but she kept her gentle, professional smile.

“Young Master, don’t forget…”

“You may be Lord Garius’s son… but I serve only Lord Garius personally.”

“And I’m responsible for managing all the maids and training them properly.”

Javier nodded quickly, standing up straighter.

“Ah… okay, Mrs. Erinette.”

She then glanced sideways at Mimi and Delya, who both froze under her steady stare.

Her lips curled into a polite smile.

“By the way, Young Master… are these the two girls Lord Garius mentioned?”

“Huh?” Javier blinked.

“Your father received letters from both King Lioness and King Veldrac about this,”

she said with a wider smile.

“Apparently… he was ‘notified’ that you would be ‘bringing’ two more girls home.”

“I didn’t bring them! They followed me!!”

Javier protested immediately, waving his hands.

Mrs. Erinette tilted her head, unfazed.

“Hmmm… Regardless, the letter has been received. It’s official now.”

Then her sharp gaze returned to Liana and Gloria.

“And you two.”

Both instantly stiffened.

“Yes, Mrs. Erinette.”

They answered nervously.

“You will return home after this,”

she said firmly, leaving no room for argument.

“Don’t even think about chasing after your Young Master before completing your training.”

“You can’t escape, even if you want to.”

At her words

Shadows moved silently.

Suddenly, hundreds of masked battle maids appeared around the courtyard. Silent, expressionless, deadly.

Erisa, the vice-commander of the battle maids, stood at the front, arms crossed.

Mrs. Erinette’s voice remained calm.

“You know how strong Erisa is, right, Gloria?”

“And these masked battle maids… are on par with your current abilities, Liana, Gloria.”

The overwhelming pressure from the masked maids was undeniable.

Liana and Gloria bowed even deeper.

“Yes, Mrs. Erinette. We understand.”

Javier quietly swallowed hard.

Mimi and Delya stood frozen, feeling like tiny mice surrounded by a hundred hunting cats.

Mrs. Erinette’s voice was steady and calm, but carried an undeniable authority.

“I know, Young Master,”

she said, her sharp gaze fixed on Javier.

“You could easily defeat all these maids if you wanted. You could even fight me directly.”

Her words weren’t praise, they were a simple, dangerous fact.

“But think carefully, Young Master.”

She stepped closer, her tone sharpening slightly.

“If you risk bringing Liana and Gloria along out of your own selfishness..”

“Then be prepared.”

“Because in the end, you will lose them.”

Javier’s hands clenched slightly at his sides.

But then he took a deep breath.

He straightened his back and met Mrs. Erinette’s gaze firmly.

“No.”

“I’m not going to fight you, Mrs. Erinette.”

“And I know the risks if I bring Liana and Gloria with me.”

He glanced at Liana and Gloria, who still stood silently, heads lowered.

“Besides… the mission is just for me.”

Mrs. Erinette’s expression softened slightly, but she gave no words, only a small, approving nod.

At that moment.

The masked battle maids moved.

Without any aggressive intent. Calm, efficient, they gently surrounded Mimi and Delya.

“Oi!!”

Delya immediately activated her Seven Phantom Body skill, summoning seven Delyas out of bursts of dark mist.

She struggled to resist.

Tried to break through.

But the masked maids moved like a wave, quick, precise, unbothered.

In less than a breath, all her fake duplicates vanished cleanly, and the real Delya was disarmed and pinned with smooth, practiced ease.

“Wha!?”

Delya gasped, stunned.

How?! Not even Danna-sama’s elf girl could crush her phantoms so easily and now even these maids?!

Before she could think further..

A quiet step echoed behind her.

“Don’t even think about running, little demon princess.”

Mrs. Erinette now stood behind Delya. Her presence alone keeping the young demon girl in place.

Delya shivered slightly without realizing it.

Mrs. Erinette spoke quietly, almost kindly.

“I have direct orders to bring you and Mimi to Lord Garius’s mansion.”

“And not just from Lord Garius.”

“Your older brother, King Veldrac… and Mimi’s father, King Lioness, both personally requested your training.”

“EHHH!!!??”

Both Mimi and Delya shouted at once.

Their faces were filled with shock and horror.

Mrs. Erinette stood confidently, her arms crossed.

Her voice, though still calm, carried an undeniable firmness.

“Now, say your farewells to your lover, Liana and Gloria.”

“Yes, Mrs. Erinette.”

Both girls answered together, their voices firm but with a slight trembling.

Liana was the first to step forward.

She threw her arms around Javier and hugged him tightly.

Then, without hesitation..

she kissed him softly but lingeringly.

When she pulled back, her emerald eyes met his.

“Be careful, Young Master,” she said with a sweet smile.

“And don’t bring more girls, okay~?”

Javier chuckled helplessly.

“I… I’ll try,”

he replied honestly, smiling back.

Next, Gloria stepped forward.

She wrapped her arms around Javier and pressed herself close, refusing to let go.

Like Liana, she gave him a gentle kiss on the lips, holding him afterward for a few seconds longer.

Her voice was quieter, a little shaky.

“Be careful.”

“Don’t die before you marry us.”

Javier hugged her back firmly.

“I will,” he whispered.

“You both too. Don’t go outside without permission.”

“Mmm… We won’t,”

they answered in unison.

“Finish your training quickly.”

Javier added softly, ruffling their hair.

“We’ll try,”

Liana and Gloria said softly, though their hearts were heavy.

Just as the moment was starting to settle.

Delya, who had been struggling with the masked maids, suddenly slipped free.

With a burst of dark energy, she dashed forward and hugged Javier tightly, clinging to him like a child refusing to go to school.

“I don’t want to train! No!!”

she cried dramatically, hugging him as if her life depended on it.

Javier let out a gentle laugh, patting her head.

“Good luck, Delya. You’ll be fine.”

At that moment

“Mimi too!! Nyaaa!!”

Mimi broke free as well, rushing forward and throwing herself onto Javier, clinging to his other side.
