Reborn As Noble-Chapter 1176: The Dust in His Eyes ( )
Once they arrived where Javier was standing with Buddy, Mimi dropped her huge bag in a rush and hugged him tightly, glancing up with pursed lips.
"Nyaaaaa! Husband~ they bullied me nya~"
Javier chuckled softly and patted her head, making her hum happily, her tail swaying contentedly.
"Eheheh~ I like that, nyaaa~"
"You like it?" Javier smiled and caressed her head.
"Nyaaa~ Really like it~" She glanced up at Javier with hazy, affectionate eyes. "Husband~"
"Hmm? Yes, Mimi?"
"Why are your eyes red, nya?" Mimi pursed her lips, placing a finger thoughtfully on her lips as she studied his face.
Liana, Gloria, Felicia, and Delya’s eyes widened. Liana bit her lower lip, making sure her narrow glare wasn’t noticed by Javier.
"Ah, this?" Javier smiled. "It’s just some dust that got in my eyes."
Liana stepped forward gracefully, cupping both of his cheeks while pushing Mimi aside with her hip.
Mimi stumbled slightly, thrown off-balance by Liana’s move. "Nyaaa!!! Big Sis!!!"
Liana ignored Mimi’s protest and looked up into Javier’s eyes. She leaned in and blew softly into his eyes, her expression tender. "There, there." She smiled gently before turning a sharp glare toward Buddy.
"I always told you not to flap your wings so carelessly when Young Master is nearby. You’re kicking up dust everywhere."
"Cuquawked!!?" Buddy’s eyes widened, surprised by Liana’s accusation.
"What?" Liana gracefully pulled both hands from Javier’s cheeks and placed them on her hips, glaring up at Buddy. "It’s true, right!? Do you want me to cook you for Young Master’s dinner tonight!? Hmm?"
"Cuquawked!!" Buddy protested, stomping one talon on the ground and glancing down at Liana, clearly unsatisfied with being accused.
"Don’t you dare give me that look, Buddy! It’s always your fault." Liana kept staring up at him, unyielding.
Buddy turned his head, giving her a sidelong glance with a smirk on his beak, and started flapping his wings hard, creating a chaotic swirl of dust and wind.
"You better stop this at once, or I’ll tell Giddie about your bad behavior!" Liana covered her eyes with one hand while the others tried to hold down their skirts against the gust.
Buddy instantly stopped at the mention of Giddie’s name, looking slightly panicked but still unsatisfied with Liana’s accusation.
Javier shook his head and chuckled softly. "Liana... let’s go inside." He glanced up at Buddy. "Buddy... let’s wait for Father inside the GAASAD... okay?"
Javier smiled and started walking slowly toward the very huge transport drone, both hands tucked in his pockets, while Gloria, Felicia, Delya, and Mimi followed closely, clinging to him affectionately.
Liana paused, both hands clasped gracefully in front of her maid dress, watching Javier and the others walk toward the GAASAD.
"Thank you, Buddy," Liana said softly with a smile.
"Cuquawked." Buddy squawked with a little smirk on his beak, then started walking smugly before suddenly using his butt to shove Liana aside, sending her tumbling to the ground.
"Buddyyyyy!!!" Liana glared up at him from the ground. "I’m going to cook you for real!!"
Buddy squawked in excitement and ran away, while Liana chased after him, grabbing a huge plank along the way.
Javier chuckled softly and shook his head, watching Liana chase Buddy at full speed while Buddy squawked and flapped his wings in panic.
He noticed Liana and Buddy both stopping, with Liana gracefully standing with both hands clasped in front of her maid dress, the plank dropped to the ground, as she turned her gaze toward the main entrance.
Javier followed her line of sight and noticed his father walking with his mother, her hand wrapped around his arm. They were escorted by Alf and Erinette as usual, along with several Armand high-ranking officials and elite guards in full tactical gear, armed with mana rifles.
His eyes then fell on one particular beautiful woman, appearing around Erinette’s age but looking just as youthful.
Hmm?
Ah... the master healer. Did Father call her? But why?
Maybe he just called her for any emergency... besides, we’re heading into foreign territory. It’s better to be fully prepared, especially with a healer of her caliber.
I can’t disagree with Father. Everything he plans never fails.
Besides...
He has the Eyes of Truth, and it’s like he comes prepared for everything. He always seems to run simulations in his mind, predicting what might happen and how to ensure the best outcome.
Javier stood properly while all his girls took their places behind him the moment Garius arrived.
"Javier." Garius called him with his usual stern and calm expression.
"Yes, esteemed Father." Javier gave him a slight bow.
"Is everything prepared?" Garius looked at him, his gaze steady and assessing.
"Yes. I’ve ensured everything is ready."
"Mm... good. So we’re just going to use one of these huge things?" Garius glanced up at the massive transport drone, where the ramp was open, revealing a spacious, well-lit interior with comfortable seating and storage compartments.
"Yes, esteemed Father. It’s faster this way."
"Mm... estimated time of arrival?"
"If we go at full speed, it will be around fifteen to twenty minutes, twenty at the longest. But, pardon me, esteemed Father, if you wish to go at full speed, there might be some turbulence and discomfort for those inside. The ride will be smoother if we maintain a moderate pace."
Garius rubbed his chin while looking at him.
"Hmm... tell me if there’s any risk to life or safety if we go at full speed."
Javier shook his head and gave a slight bow. "No, esteemed Father. The only risk is a bit of discomfort, similar to riding a naval fleet on rough seas or a long journey, some might experience slight headaches or nausea, but nothing life-threatening."
Garius rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "Well... I see no problem with it. Since all the escort teams and the others are already trained and experienced with high-speed travel, they can handle it." He glanced at Javier. "We’ll go at full speed. I don’t want to be late."
Javier smiled faintly and nodded after seeing Garius’s right eye glowing faintly.
Heh... He really knows the best with his Eyes of Truth. He even assigned the best team that can endure the strain of high-speed travel.
"As you wish, Father."
