Reborn as Mr.CEO's Fat Wife-Chapter 551: What to do with Teddy?
Chapter 551: Chapter 551: What to do with Teddy?
But compared to Luke Scout, Brandon Piers did not have it easy.
Even though he tried to avoid it, he couldn’t help but ask, was Abigail willing to leave with Jeffrey Foster?
This torment felt like a demon, haunting him.
Another torment was that he had broken up with Abigail before she left.
So even if she left, it was justified.
These thoughts pricked his heart like needles, giving him no peace.
"Notify Pullan to come back." After returning to Moon Lake Manor, Brandon suddenly spoke.
Kennan Max nodded, but the next moment, he heard the second young master say, his voice carrying a chilling coldness, "Tell Kelvin Max to bring Sophie Hope here."
"Yes." Kennan Max did not dare hesitate.
After giving his orders, Brandon got out of the car and met Housekeeper Piers.
It was already nine o’clock. According to common practice, Housekeeper Piers should have been resting at this time. However, he looked urgent, saw Brandon get out of the car, rushed over, then looked behind him and asked bewildered and slightly dazed, "Second young master, where is young madam?"
After asking, Housekeeper Piers noticed the second young master’s disheveled state, "You... what has happened to you?"
"Is Teddy still awake?" Brandon did not answer the housekeeper’s question. He directly inquired about Teddy’s situation.
"He has been crying non-stop. Judy and Tate stayed with him, but it’s not helping. Why hasn’t young madam returned? You and young madam..."
"She will come back," Brandon interrupted the housekeeper.
"But..." the housekeeper wanted to ask when she would return, worried about Teddy’s condition. The little guy’s crying had broken his old heart.
"Go get some rest." Brandon couldn’t tell the housekeeper when Abigail would return, because he himself didn’t know.
"But second young master, what has happened to you? Your hand, your face... I will call young madam... call a doctor." Ever since Abigail came to the Piers family, the second young master’s injuries had always been tended to by young madam. But now, as soon as the housekeeper finished speaking, he realized young madam hadn’t returned and could only seek a private doctor.
"No need." Brandon ignored the housekeeper’s ramblings and walked straight toward the main house.
Upon entering, he saw Old Mr. Smith still awake. Only then did Brandon remember that the old man was still in the manor, and Church Smith was not as easy to deal with as Housekeeper Piers.
"Where is Abigail? Has something happened to her?" Church Smith had been feeling uneasy since Teddy started crying in the afternoon. Now that Brandon had returned but Abigail had not, the foreboding feeling intensified.
Ever since Abigail mentioned her rebirth, Church Smith had been on edge. The whole matter was too bizarre and beyond comprehension. He constantly worried that one day Abigail would suddenly not be Abigail anymore. Now, with her not yet back, his nerves were on the verge of breaking.
He had lived a regrettable life; his wife died early, leaving behind a young daughter whom he failed to raise properly. He left Abigail for years with no news, alive or dead.
He had finally raised his granddaughter, only to have her sacrifice herself for some worthless scoundrel. Thankfully, though, heaven showed some mercy and brought Abigail back. He didn’t dare hope for much more, only praying for her safety every day.
Seeing Brandon’s hesitant expression, Church Smith’s heart sank, "Abigail... What happened to her?"
"Jeffrey Foster took her away." Brandon spoke with difficulty, filled with heavy guilt.
The old man’s face turned pale, "What do you mean by Jeffrey Foster taking her away? How could Abigail go with that hypocrite? Her heart and mind are filled with you and Teddy. How could she leave with Jeffrey Foster?"
Hearing this, Brandon’s heart trembled uncontrollably. Even the old man knew that Abigail’s heart was full of him, but he had let jealousy and envy cloud his judgment...
"Say something!" Church Smith had never seen Brandon so defeated and disheveled. He yelled in anger and frustration.
"I suspect he kidnapped her. I’ve already sent people to look for her. Don’t worry, I will definitely find Abigail." Brandon, spurred on by the old man’s shouting, regained some composure.
"Search, search... Of course you must search, but what about Teddy?" The old man thought of Teddy’s weeping and felt like his heart was being roasted on fire.
Brandon remained silent. Jeffrey Foster had meticulously planned every step. From sowing discord, creating rumors, escalating conflicts, to using a competition victory to make Brandon misunderstand that Abigail was helping herself behind his back, and then seizing the chance to fake her death.
Each step was intricately connected. Such a Jeffrey Foster was unlikely to leave any loose ends for himself.
So finding her immediately was easier said than done.
While adults could wait, what about Teddy?
Brandon thought of his son’s cries over the phone, his heart tightened. He looked at the old man and said through clenched teeth, "Don’t worry, I will do my best to find Abigail as quickly as possible."
No matter what, he wouldn’t keep Abigail waiting too long.
Yes, after regaining his composure, Brandon realized that Abigail wouldn’t leave him, Teddy, and Grandpa.
He shouldn’t have doubted her feelings for him.
Church Smith stared at Brandon’s scratched face and bloodied hands and sighed deeply, "Go take a shower. I will treat your wounds afterward."
"No need, I’m fine." Brandon refused. The physical pain could somewhat alleviate the psychological torment.
"Stop arguing, Teddy and I are counting on you!" The old man snapped, then, remembering the finally sleeping Teddy, lowered his voice, "Hurry!"
Knowing the old man’s temper, Brandon sighed, turned around, and went upstairs. After washing away the grime, he didn’t go back down but headed toward the nursery.
The nursery door wasn’t closed. Brandon gently pushed it open and saw Aunt Claudia holding the baby in the living room, with Kelly still awake.
Aunt Claudia was delighted to see Brandon and asked in a whisper, "Second young master, where is Abigail?"
Brandon didn’t answer and instead looked at Teddy, who was sleeping but still frowning in Aunt Claudia’s arms. "How is he?"
"He just fell asleep, but cries as soon as he is put down." Aunt Claudia looked helpless. After so long with Teddy, tonight was the first time she couldn’t handle him, leaving her in a constant sweat.
"Thank you." Brandon watched his son for a long moment, then quietly exited the room.
Aunt Claudia and Kelly stared at the second young master’s back. He just left, and Abigail hadn’t returned?
Both women started to panic.
Had the second young master quarreled with Abigail?
Aunt Claudia looked at Teddy in her arms, flooded with worry, hoping that the two wouldn’t truly have a falling out. Otherwise, what would happen to Teddy?
