Chapter 518: Chapter 518: Hotel Video Edited and Exposed

Abigail was taken to the hospital for an antidote, and after much turmoil, she returned to Moon Lake Manor at ten o’clock in the evening.

She cautiously pushed open the nursery door. Aunt Claudia was still awake and asked urgently when she saw her, "Abigail, why so late? Did something happen?"

"There was a little accident, it’s nothing serious. How is Teddy?" Abigail stepped forward and asked softly.

"He was fussing for you, just fell asleep not long ago," Aunt Claudia also lowered her voice.

Abigail felt heartbroken, looked at the sleeping little baby in sorrow, and gently touched his small hand before saying to Aunt Claudia, "I’ll take a shower and then sleep with Teddy."

Aunt Claudia looked at Abigail’s face, "It’s all right. You go rest. I’ll take care of Teddy. You’ve had a long day. You need a good rest."

Abigail shook her head, "It’s okay, I can manage."

After saying this, Abigail went to the adjacent room to take a shower, changed her clothes, and came out, glancing at the direction of Brandon Piers’ room, which was already dark.

She then went to the study, which was the same.

Abigail felt a bit resentful and went up to the third-floor gym. The large gym was dimly lit and tranquil.

Her bright eyes were completely dimmed. She listlessly returned to the nursery.

But even lying beside Teddy, she was extremely tired and yet couldn’t fall asleep.

She didn’t know where Brandon had gone.

Was he asleep? Or had he not come back at all?

In the hotel, the disappointment in the man’s eyes felt like a tangible needle piercing every inch of her skin.

Even when they first met, she had never seen such an expression on Brandon’s face.

Disappointment, indifference, alienation. He didn’t even follow her to the hospital.

Not even a phone call or a message along the way.

Flipping through the last message in their chat, it was still Brandon saying he would come to pick her up. That intense sense of cherished happiness hadn’t completely faded, yet how had things turned out like this?

The more Abigail stared at her phone screen, the sadder she felt. She clicked on the man’s avatar. The photo of her winning the championship was still there, with such strong possessiveness, and her mood was entirely different.

She was somewhat disgusted with herself. Why was she so easily manipulated? Even feeling a sense that other people’s lives didn’t matter to her. Why had she recklessly rushed in due to an instinctual urge?

This regret tormented her like a bone-eating insect. After a long while, Abigail mustered the courage to send Brandon a message, "Are you asleep?"

It was like sinking into the sea.

She couldn’t help but click on the man’s avatar again, trying to find something, but there was nothing.

The sleeping Aunt Claudia turned over in a daze, muttering, "Abigail, why aren’t you asleep? Go to sleep."

Abigail replied softly and carefully put down her phone, looking at Teddy in her arms, feeling a bittersweet sadness.

She didn’t know how long it took. After flipping her phone more than ten times and confirming that the man wouldn’t reply, she finally fell asleep groggily.

She was too exhausted.

But she slept very restlessly that night.

In the morning, it was not Teddy who woke her but the phone under her pillow.

She was already a light sleeper. The moment it vibrated, she suddenly opened her eyes, hurriedly drew out the phone, only to find it wasn’t a message from Brandon but a call from Lena Locke.

Abigail glanced at the time, not yet seven o’clock, and it was the weekend. Why would Lena call her so early? Abigail looked at the still-sleeping little one, hesitantly got up, and went to the bathroom to answer the call. ƒгeeweɓn૦vel.com

"Abigail, something terrible happened!" Before Abigail could speak, Lena’s anxious cry came from the other end of the line.

"What happened?" Abigail frowned and asked.

Lena was almost in tears, "Someone released a video of you and Mr. Foster in the hotel. It’s already spread. People are cursing you indiscriminately, and..."

As soon as Abigail heard Lena’s words, she felt as if she had plunged into an ice cellar, forcing herself to keep her voice calm, "What else?"

"Someone exposed that you are the second young master’s fiancée. They said you and Dean Foster were ambiguous to win the University Medical Skills Championship. They even said Dean Foster went to the Medical University for you, using the championship title as a reward for Class 02 to pave the way for you to enter his research lab." Lena was already crying, "Posts about it flooded the school forum. They became viral since five a.m."

"I understand. Don’t worry; I’ll handle it." Abigail really didn’t know what she had done to deserve being plotted against so badly.

"But..."

"Don’t panic. Truth will prevail, and we still have the second young master, right?" Abigail interrupted Lena, gently reassuring her before hanging up the phone.

She then glanced at the message she sent last night, still without a reply. She decided to call. After a minute with no answer, she dialed Pullan.

Pullan seemed to anticipate Abigail’s call and said directly, "Don’t worry, ma’am. We’re already dealing with the online rumors."

"Okay." Abigail replied, hesitated for a moment, "Where’s your second young master?"

"The second young master? Probably in the study." Pullan didn’t think much and continued with his tasks.

Looking at the disconnected screen, Abigail decided to go to the study to check. Just as she was leaving, little Teddy woke up, crying with his eyes closed.

Abigail quickly approached, "Aunt Claudia, give him to me. I’ll hold him."

Holding Teddy in her arms, Abigail gently murmured to soothe him. The little guy finally opened his eyes. Seeing his mother, his tear-streaked face immediately broke into a smile.

Watching Teddy, Abigail felt a pang in her heart, pressing her cheek against his, "Baby, it’s all mom’s fault for making our little sweetheart cry."

Aunt Claudia brought a big toy to playfully "hit" Abigail, "Nana will help you punish the bad mom. Here, whack again."

This playful act made Teddy completely happy. Although clearly hungry, he nuzzled against Abigail. Having been affected by the drugs last night, even with the antidote, Abigail still felt unwell and couldn’t be sure there were no residual toxins. She tricked him into drinking formula.

Fortunately, Teddy had already gotten used to formula and started with solid foods, so he didn’t fuss too much.

After settling Teddy, Abigail went to look for Brandon, but it was already eight o’clock.

Standing at the study door, she first opened the video Lena sent her. Just a glance, and her expression darkened. It was obvious the video was intentionally edited to remove other context, leaving only the scene of Jeffrey pulling her onto the bed.

From the video, it didn’t appear they had been set up. It seemed like they were mutually affectionate, reluctant to part.

Especially Jeffrey’s gaze at her in the video, unless you were there, who would believe it was all fake.

And with such a video circulating online, open to misinterpretation, Abigail could already foresee the consequences.

But she couldn’t focus on the online gossip now. She was more concerned about what Brandon thought.
