Chapter 364: Chapter 364 Actually, I Really Want to Take You Home
“Brandon Piers?” Abigail’s voice sounded dry and hoarse.

Brandon reached out to touch her forehead. “You’re a bit feverish. Did you have a nightmare?”
“I….” was still alive.
Abigail’s mouth opened slightly. For a moment, she thought she had died again.
“Let’s go home.” Brandon noticed her dazed state, held her hand tightly to keep her warm, and rubbed her sweaty head with his other hand.
With his touch, Abigail gradually came to her senses. She looked sideways at the man beside her, recalling the scene that felt both dreamlike and real. Her emotions were complex.
She even wondered whether it was Abigail Green who had been with him, or if she was the one with him.
The scene had been so vivid, the touch on her skin so clear in her mind.
Brandon watched Abigail look at him in confusion. His heart tightened. He didn’t know what it felt like to die and be reborn in someone else’s body.
But seeing her like this now, he couldn’t help but feel heartbroken.
Suddenly, he remembered what Ruby had said to him that day: Abigail had died before. She had crawled out of hell. At the time, he thought Ruby had meant Abigail had a near-death experience during childbirth.
Only now did he realize she had truly died.
Having grown up with Abigail, Ruby knew her better than anyone else. Ruby had witnessed Abigail’s death in the delivery room. That must have been why she said what she did.
How did Abigail feel when she heard Ruby’s words back then?
And how did she feel being reborn in the body of a new mother who had a C-section?
“Haven’t woken up yet?” Brandon couldn’t help softening his voice. Pullan, who hadn’t left the car because Brandon hadn’t, felt goosebumps all over. He had never heard his boss speak so gently to anyone. It was unbelievable.
But Abigail hadn’t fully come around from her own emotions. She shook her head, then nodded, still unable to clearly distinguish between reality and dreams. She didn’t expect Brandon to pull her into his arms. “It’s uncomfortable to sleep in the car. Let’s go home first, then sleep.”
Abigail, who had been in a fog, suddenly found herself in the man’s broad embrace. She remembered the last scene from her memory, their entangled bodies. She jolted awake, her cheeks gradually turning pink.
In her previous life, the most intimate she had been was holding hands occasionally with her senior, and they weren’t even a couple. Now, her mind was filled with images too stimulating for her to handle. And then there was Brandon, for some reason, holding her in his arms. Abigail felt her brain buzz and lost her ability to think.
Pullan and Peter, sitting in front, were petrified, staring straight ahead without moving, afraid their boss would notice them.
Fortunately, Brandon was entirely focused on Abigail. Ignoring the two men, he noticed Abigail seemed more alert and asked softly, “Shall we get out?”
“I….”
“Actually, I’d like to carry you in, but….” Brandon pointed at his chest, then her weight. “I really can’t carry you.”
Abigail, who had just been in a tender moment, was speechless.
Damn man!
She pushed him away quickly, jumped out of the car, and walked towards the main house.
“Heh.” Looking at Abigail, who had returned to her usual self, Brandon smiled, his long legs elegantly stepping out of the car to follow her.
Abigail was fuming. Couldn’t this man have avoided teasing her before rejecting her outright? A weak heart couldn’t handle such games with him!
She regretted having operated on him. It would have been better if he stayed ill, so he wouldn’t just keep tormenting her.
Following behind her, Brandon heard her mumbling occasionally. “Hey, are you bad-mouthing me?”
“Who’s bad-mouthing you?” Abigail retorted without looking back. Suddenly, she noticed a rose bush, and a bright idea struck her. She squatted down by the flowers.
Seeing this, Brandon paused, thinking he might have upset her too much. He rushed over and saw the roses in front of her, with all their petals left half-intact. He was speechless.
Naughty woman!
Abigail saw Brandon’s face darken. Cheerfully, she got up and ran back to the main house.
Pullan, following behind, heard his boss, now thunder-faced, ordering, “Trim all the flowers here.”
Pullan looked at the half-petaled roses, unable to help but Tsukkomi, Why do I always have to pay for the lovers’ quarrels?
Thus, the people in the courtyard saw Pullan, the gardener, bitterly on duty again!
But though Abigail seemed fine when she got back, she started burning with a fever that night.
Aunt Claudia, hearing Teddy cry, rushed over and found Abigail in a feverish daze, so hot that the little guy woke up. She quickly called for help.
When James arrived, Brandon stood aside in his loungewear, his face sullen, scaring everyone into silence, even the old man didn’t dare say much.
“What’s going on?” Brandon asked in a muffled voice after James had finished examining her, blaming himself for letting her out of the car so quickly and for taking her to the hospital to talk to Lincoln Green in the first place.
After those words, Brandon knew deep down that Abigail was standing up for Abigail Green. She wanted Lincoln Green to know what had happened to his daughter and why she had died.
Just like she said, “She died, and nobody knew. But you are her father. I must tell you.”
But had she told anyone she was still alive?
Brandon sighed lightly. Meanwhile, James shook his head. “All indicators are normal. It shouldn’t be this way. Did anything stimulate her today? It seems like an emotional stress response.”
“Is there any solution?” Brandon had realized what was wrong.
“Give her some fever medicine and try to cool her down physically. If she’s still feverish tomorrow, she needs to go to the hospital for a full examination.” James finished as he prepared Abigail’s medication.
“Okay.” Brandon nodded.
Aunt Claudia brought the water, intending to give Abigail the medicine, but Brandon had already taken it from James’s hand. “I’ll do it.”
Even the old man was surprised by his grandson’s offer. He had never been fed medicine by him before. But seeing Abigail on the bed in a feverish daze, he decided not to compete for his grandson’s affection.
Aunt Claudia was worried. “Master Brandon….”
“I’ll be fine. You and Kelly take care of Teddy.” Brandon interrupted her, sitting by the bed and gently rubbing Abigail’s cheek. “Abigail, wake up and take your medicine.”
The others, seeing this, quietly left the room.
That night, Abigail stayed in a semi-conscious state, sensing someone by her side but unable to open her eyes. Each time she felt herself being pulled into an abyss, a big hand would pull her back.
This repeated until the sky began to lighten. Abigail, still groggy, felt as though she had returned to her body, finally falling into a deep sleep.
