Chapter 106 -107: Reviving the Dead

The door was opened, and Shao He looked up to see the two men entering, a look of surprise evident on his face.

“How did you come to be here?”

Both men pointed towards Yun Qian, with Yan Ze speaking up first, “It was he who brought us here.”

“I happened to run into them outside and brought them here to donate blood,” Yun Qian explained.

Explaining what blood donation was to someone else would be more troublesome than letting these two men do it themselves.

Shao He knew that their statuses were no ordinary matter, but now was not the time to worry about that, as the patient was losing blood too quickly and could go into shock at any moment.

...

“Would the two of you be willing to donate blood?”

Pei Huaian and Yan Ze looked dumbfounded; they didn’t even know what blood donation was.

Yun Qian explained, “It means to give out a portion of the blood in your bodies for him to use.”

“That’s possible?” Pei Huaian had never heard of such a medical practice where one could exchange blood with another.

Yan Ze was equally shocked, and their curiosity about blood donation treatment led them to nod in agreement.

“How do we do this?” Yan Ze asked with a chuckle.

Instead of answering his question, Shao He rolled up his sleeves and started to draw blood for a test.

When the needle punctured his vein, the smile on Yan Ze’s face instantly fell away, and the pain almost made him cry out.

He pressed his lips together tightly and, as Shao He pulled out the needle and tucked a small bottle into his pocket, complained somewhat indignantly, “You could have at least warned me to be mentally prepared!”

Shao He gave a faint smile, shaking his head, “It’s just a small needle, what’s there to be afraid of?”

Yan Ze’s eyes widened, disbelief in his ears, “A small needle? You must be joking! I nearly roared when it stabbed into me.”

Yun Qian came over, patting Yan Ze’s shoulder lightly, consoling him, “See, it’s all fine now.”

With a resigned sigh, Yan Ze tried to relax. His arm still felt somewhat numb, especially after the needle prick, making it feel as if the blood circulation was constricted.

Shao He walked over to Pei Huaian, took out a new syringe, and quietly began to draw his blood. Pei Huaian’s face was expressionless, as though he felt nothing.

Unable to curb his curiosity, Yan Ze asked, “Doctor Shao, you’re not practicing favoritism, are you?”

Shao He looked up, a wry smile on his lips, “Would you like to try again?”

Yan Ze immediately waved his hands, putting on an unwilling expression and shaking his head, “No need, no need, I believe Doctor Shao treats everyone equally.”

At that moment, the room fell into silence, with only the sound of the blood being drawn and Yan Ze’s breathing echoing in the air.

After collecting the blood samples, Shao He was about to take them to the inner chamber for testing when he suddenly stopped and turned to Yun Qian, “Go find a few more people. Their blood types may not match, and two people won’t suffice.”

Yun Qian nodded and quickly left the laboratory. The woman waiting outside paced back and forth, looking towards the door, hoping for good news.

Then, Yun Qian appeared again before her. She gripped him nervously and asked, “How is the person inside?”

“We need to do a transfusion,” Yun Qian replied and quickly moved on.

The woman stood there, stunned, murmuring to herself, “How could this be? How could this be?”

Inside the inner chamber, Shao He returned to the equipment, carefully examining the blood samples, gently swaying her wrist to allow the blood to flow smoothly into the test tube.

After the injection was done, she gently pressed on the injection site, then picked up the test tube and began to re-test the blood sample. Her fingers tapped nimbly on the keyboard, eyes fixed on the data on the screen.

A few minutes later, the results were in – Pei Huaian’s blood type didn’t match, but Yan Ze’s did; Shao He breathed a sigh of relief.

Shao He came out and looked at them gratefully, “Thank you for being willing to donate blood.”

Her gaze lingered on Yan Ze as she said with a faint smile, “Now we’ll need to draw blood, Master Yan. You look to be strong and healthy, with your rosy complexion and brisk energy; you must eat a lot of nourishing foods.”

Flattered by the praise, Yan Ze couldn’t help but laugh and proudly said, “That’s right, I always eat nutritious food.”

Hearing this, Shao He prepared the blood bag and syringe, motioning for Yan Ze to come forward to donate blood.

But Yan Ze, looking at the tools in her hand, felt a bit scared and stepped back. He hadn’t forgotten the pain from earlier.

Seeing Yan Ze’s reaction, Shao He understood his worry and reassured him softly, “Don’t worry, it’s just a tiny needle, it won’t hurt a bit. You can rest assured, I’ll complete the process very quickly.”

“This…” Yan Ze began to hesitate, his initial curiosity now replaced by fear.

“We’re only drawing 400cc of blood. I assure you, there won’t be any problems, and you’ll be as strong as you were before,” Shao He promised earnestly.

“Why are you drawing only my blood and not his?” Yan Ze asked in surprise.

“Because his blood type doesn’t match, and he’s also ill right now, unfit for a transfusion,” Shao He explained.

Pei Huaian’s lips curled into a sly grin, taking a seat to watch the drama unfold, “Master Yan, you should trust Doctor Shao’s medical skills. Even if you really died, she would be able to bring you back to life.”
