"Ugh, there goes our ability to see once more. Why is this game so annoying?"

Clara complained as she walked in front of the group. She held Lilianna’s hand tighter since she did not want to separate from her.

The last section of the maze felt wet and slippery. Even a single mistake would be enough to cause injuries in such a place.

"Keep looking around, Clara. You are the only one who can find the mini-game fast."

Lilianna assured her and Clara suddenly felt she gained a sudden boost in her confidence.

"You are right. Let me try and find the game..."

She declared before she focused her senses on finding the game. The small amount of plants in the last part guided her until she found where she needed to go.

However, they also cautioned her not to move inside needlessly.

"We are here. But...something about this mini game does not feel...safe..."

Clara complained as she refused to move. Her words made Andrew look at the game menu as well with a critical eye.

[Mini-game: Catch the mouse.

Objective: Catch the mouse mini-boss in the area without getting killed. Team limit 1–10 players.]

Since the game sounded simple enough, that meant that there must be a catch here. Still, it was a game that they needed to play in order to progress.

"Let’s enter the game as a team and stick together. Lilianna, you stay in the middle and heal us if it looks like we need it."

Andrew told her and Lilianna nodded before she quickly took her place.

They moved slowly to the game arena and the monster let out a loud roar before the game started.

Andrew kept his eyes on the mark on top of the monster’s head, but it was moving far too fast for him to feel comfortable.

"W-Where is the monster? I cannot see it at all."

Clara complained as she tried to see with what little light the system allowed her access to.

Even Emperor tried to catch the mini-boss but it was just too fast for them. It would be impossible to catch it using their base speed alone.

"Clara, use your abilities to narrow down where the mini boss can go. I will try to do the same and guide it toward Emperor."

Andrew told Clara and she quickly nodded. Her powers were not that well-polished, but due to training, she was able to make the plants listen to her words and they started to form a one-way cage for the mini boss.

Luckily for her, the mini-boss entered her maze and Andrew immediately cast barriers around the place to guide him.

The mini boss moved in a way they wanted it to move and soon, it reached Emperor.

"Get ready. The mini boss is heading your way."

Andrew reminded Emperor and the man nodded.

"Let it come. I am ready to catch it."

The mini-boss jumped and Emperor caught it using his fast reflexes. The mini boss tried to escape but Emperor did not let go of it.

[Objective: Complete. Your eyesight will be restored. The restrictions placed on Player Lilianna will also be lifted.]

Lilianna let out a sigh of relief as she moved her body around. For the first time in this game, she felt free to move around as she wished.

"Finally. This is the last section of this game, right? I don’t want to go through more of this."

Andrew looked down at the screen map and nodded.

"This should be the end. Let’s keep going."

The maze was all about twists and turns. But because they had a map, it was far easier for them to move around the traps and other sections.

"I can see the light. We are finally here..."

Clara was the first one to see the light and she quickly broke off the chain to run toward it.

"W-Wait-! Clara, slow down..."

Lilianna ran after her but her stamina was not as good. They crossed the threshold of the light and made their way to safety on the other side.

"Congratulations. You have made it to the end."

The short and gloomy game master of this round clapped her hand as she looked down from her position in the sky. She did not sound excited or show any other emotions in her eyes.

[Game Seven Cleared. A special reward will be prepared for the winners.]

"Since we are done here, you all can head back now."

The puppet did not perform any special motion, but the air around them warped and before they knew it, they were back.

"Woah-! We are finally back. Is it only me, or are these games getting easier and easier every time? At this rate, we won’t have anything to worry about."

Clara declared as she threw herself on the couch.

"Clara, don’t jinx it. And we only have an easy time because we have Andrew and Emperor with us. The games are actually difficult for other players."

Lilianna reminded her but Clara had already stopped listening to her by this point.

"Queen, freeze it now."

Thief’s voice caused Queen to act immediately and she used her powers to freeze the mini-boss. Monkey kind caught the mini-boss and their eyesight was restored.

"Alright, just a little more and we will be out of here."

Slayer commented as he stretched his back to get rid of the ache in it.

"You are right. We managed to get through another troublesome round."

Thief commented as he walked out of the maze and toward the exit. The soulless doll waited for them to tell them that they had finished the maze.

"Finally, it is time for us to head back...Thief...are you alright? Minso...? Hey...?"

Queen looked at her partner who suddenly clutched his head as he saw a vision.

[Ability Future Sight has activated.]

"What are you doing? Are you going to betray humanity and join the system? For what-?"

A blood-drenched Minso asked Mark Dawnson, who had a blank look on his face. And instead of answering him, the archmage just raised his staff and brought it down.

"Andrew, let’s finish this and head back. We can bring it all back...whatever we lost..."

Standing besides Mark was a beautiful lady who did not look quite human. Who or whatever she was, Mark seemed to listen to her and then, the vision went white as Mark Dawnson betrayed humanity and sided with the system. 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂

They were all going to die at his hand once he betrayed humans and joined the system to do its bidding.
