Reborn as a Weak Earthling, I Became the Most Overpowered Mage Alive-Chapter 107: Ch : Capture the Sun
"Are you not going to sign it? The choice is yours, so I will not stop you if you don’t want to do it. But the consequences will be yours to bear as well."
Andrew reminded her, and Jenna looked around the room.
Everyone else except her had already signed the contract, since it promised them guaranteed food at least. She was the only one left, and she felt humiliated.
’To think that I will ever have to stoop this low-!’
She raged inside her mind. But ultimately, she had no choice but to agree with Mark’s demands. She willingly put that collar around her neck that she hated, and the contract settled in place.
"Alright, now that this is settled, you can take them and show them their new working environments. Make sure to work our new slav...I mean, workers well. I will ask the fairy worker to prepare more food."
Andrew reminded Clara, who had a sudden smile on her face.
Seeing that smile made everyone feel like they had made a mistake signing that contract. But it was too late to run away now.
"Don’t worry. I will make sure these people earn their keep and much more. I might as well start an animal-rearing farm now that I have more hands to help me with."
Clara looked happy as she took charge of the small group. They followed her out (even Jenna) to do manual labor.
Meanwhile, Andrew paid attention to the system screen to see his new abilities.
[Truth-And-Lies (A) has been copied by ability Copy skills level 1. You can now make anything you say true as long as you can make 70% of the people around you believe you.]
[Warning: In case of an ability being used on another player or sentient creature, you will need to make sure they are convinced as well. The ability will activate passively.]
That seemed like an extraordinary ability, and Andrew wanted to try it out.
"Does anyone else feel like it’s going to rain today?"
He asked while looking out at the bright sky outside. There was no sign of clouds anywhere near, and that was why he wanted to see if he would be able to make it rain.
"Rain...? But isn’t the sky clear...?"
Lilianna questioned as she looked at the sky. Had it been anyone else, she would not have taken these words seriously, but since the one speaking these words was Andrew, she felt a little conflicted.
"It seems like you gained a new ability to predict the weather. Well, if you say that it’s going to rain, then it will."
Seraphina just smiled at him with a knowing look. Emperor seemed disinterested in all this, but he kept an eye on Andrew as well.
[100% of people here believe your words. Truth-And-Lies will take effect now. The weather will shift to rain in an hour.]
The sky was still bright outside, but it did not take long before the sky began to get dark and clouds started to form. It was going to start raining soon.
"We should call Clara and the others back soon. We will also likely need more space to live nearby if we are to keep an eye on our guests."
Andrew had a feeling that his estate and faction were slowly going to increase, so he needed to start making preparations for it to happen.
He also needed to make sure he had more than enough food to feed everyone. Outside, a drop of rain fell on the ground, and soon, it started to rain.
...
The next few days were hectic. Not only did Clara run her new helpers into the ground, but Andrew also started to look into ways to make his base more secure. The system had a lot of ways to be able to do that and get more houses as well.
But it was all expensive to build, and he needed resources.
"We are going to run short on funds at this rate. We will need to find ways to farm system money as soon as possible."
Seraphina pointed out as she looked at her reserves, which were running dry as well.
"There is no need to worry. A few days have passed since the last game ended. That means it will be here soon-the first mini game to earn money."
Emperor pointed out. Just as he spoke, a loud ding! was heard in the sky, causing everyone to get out and check it.
[Hello everyone-! This is your favourite system speaking...well, favourite system employee speaking. You all can call me the doctor. I have a special surprise for you all-a mini game.]
The cheerful voice sounded out of place coming from the system. And yet, Andrew felt like there was just a hint of sinisterness behind that voice that sent chills down his spine.
[Ah, don’t worry too much. I am not going to ask too much from my lovely humans. After all, you are the source of my precious data. What would I do if you were to accidentally get eradicated? So I will go easy on all of you and give you an easy task.]
The doctor continued, and the system suddenly lit up with a new mini-game notification.
[New mini game unlocked-capture the sun. Each sun will give you 1 coins.]
[Time limit: 1 hour]
"It looks like we need to capture a sun? How do you capture a sun? How do you capture a sun?"
Clara asked in a panicked voice, only for Seraphina to calm her down.
"It’ll be fine. I doubt we are being asked to capture a real sun. If anything, the doctor might be asking us to capture a thing representing the sun."
Clara groaned.
"That does not make things any easier, right? Could he have not told us what he meant?"
She questioned, only to not get an answer.
"Emperor, do you have any idea what the ’sun’ might be?"
Andrew asked, and the Emperor shook his head.
"Not this time. The game was different in my past life, so I doubt I will be of much help."
He sounded frustrated, and Andrew agreed that the situation was not good. Just as they questioned what to do, Lilianna suddenly let out an excited exclamation.
"Look at the system. The Peace Cooperation has issued a notice. Apparently, the ’sun’ in question is...sunflower? Why would anyone want sunflowers?"
