By the time he was done reading the long military-engraved epitaph, Leon couldn’t help it as his lips curled up in a big smile.
"What a story," he muttered with a grin.
"You lived and died a chad, what a guy". He chuckled, then he finally picked the plasma pen that he came with ahead of time.
He leaned towards the vertical marker, focusing on the space below that were reserved for future epitaphs then he wrote his own epitaph.
["A true warrior, a loyal friend..."]
He hesitated slightly, then he chuckled again and added. ["...He lived and died a chad."]
Behind him, Ren Nora and Garfield burst into big smiles as they chuckled.
After that, Leon moved back to 3 other vertical markers representing Potter, Mendez, and Lawrence’s graves as he also wrote epitaphs for them.
After that, he finally stood straight, looking at the epitaphs that he wrote.
At that moment, a voice suddenly floated towards him out of the vertical markers, almost startling him.
"What memory would you like to relive?"
Leon tilted his head slightly in thought.
He thought of asking for the memories of Kai’s life to see his many battles that were recorded in the vertical marker, but in the end, he settled for the one memory that covered all 4 of his dead friends.

He relived it as 5 D Rank Ascended challenged the impossible and tried to fight evenly with a C Rank Ascended.
And he also relived it as they started dying.

Leon watched as Lieutenant Colonel Lawrence ate a fist at speeds far exceeding the speed of sound, a speed reaching 10 times the speed of sound!
He watched as the Winged Rhino’s entire body evaporated into a bloody mist from the impact as the D Rank Gene Augur died instantly!
He watched as General Murphy laughed.
He watched as the Federation General grinned like a maniac. "Haha..."

"Muahahahahahaha... what a fight! COME ON!"
Leon clenched his fists tightly but he didn’t shake as with his head raised and his spine straight, just like Ren Nora and Garfield, he relived that night again while paying respects to their dead comrades.
They didn’t cry for Lawrence, he died a warrior.
They watched as Lieutenant Colonel Mendez was killed, they also watched as Lieutenant Colonel Potter was killed.
Reliving it all again, they felt their blood burn hot.
They watched it all till the very end, till the war finally came to an end.
At the end, silence reigned for a long time as the 3 old friends stood rigidly in front of their friends’ graves.
Leon eventually broke the silence.
He grimaced slightly, then he asked. "I can ask questions right?"

Hyper-realistic projections of the 4 dead legends immediately materialized to life as they looked at him with a smile. "Yes".
Leon grimaced slightly as he looked at them. "What comes after death? A-are you guys in a better place? Are you happy?"
Colonel Kai smiled and responded. "No one knows what comes after death, but what matters is that we’re at peace".
Leon forced a smile and nodded. "Yeah".
He finally brought out the red flowers that he brought for this visit and placed them in front of the graves.
He squatted in front of the graves, then with a smile he said. "One day, I’ll avenge the 4 of you".
"One day, I’m going to fight General Murphy and I’ll kill him!"
