Chapter 1906: Maria VS Odin [4]

-----

Inside Odin writhed hundreds of fleshy tendrils, a crystallized heart forged of chaos and miasma, and countless red eyes paired with razor-sharp fangs.

"YOUR POWER SHOULD ONLY BE MINE, MY SON! JUST LIKE I DEVOURED YOUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS...! YOU MUST BE EATEN BY ME!"

An overwhelming dread gripped Maria and Sirius as they watched Odin merge with the three Evil God Fragments he possessed!

BA DUM!

BA DUM!

BA DUM!

His heart pounded faster and faster.

Odin’s white skin darkened to pitch-black charcoal.

Red eyes sprouted across his body!

His form swelled larger, larger, larger still.

The entire Heavenly Realm twisted and fractured. Monstrous black tentacles spread across the skies.

The blue sky bled purple and red!

"I CANNOT FALL! I AM ODIN! I AM ODIN! I AM ODIN! I AM THE GREAT GOD KING! ODIN! ODIN! ODINODINODINODINODINODINODINODIN!!!"

Hundreds of grotesque, mutated faces of Odin erupted everywhere.

The Odin that Maria and Sirius fought struck back, piercing their bodies with dozens of razor-sharp tentacles and hurling them downward into the crimson-purple sky below.

"I AM ODIN!"

"I AM THE GRAND GOD KING ODIN!"

"I AM ODIN!"

"I AM THE GRAND GOD KING ODIN!"

"I AM ODIN!"

"ODIN! ODIN! ODIN!!!"

"I AM ODIN!"

"ODIN! ODIN! ODIN!!!"

"I AM ODIN!"

"I AM THE GRAND GOD KING ODIN!"

"I AM ODIN!"

"I AM THE GRAND GOD KING ODIN!"

Hundreds of faces below laughed and chanted his name, jaws gaping wide, waiting to swallow Maria and Sirius as they fell.

"MARIAAAAA!"

But then—

Amid the darkness about to consume her...

A colossal white dragon appeared and caught her.

A moment later, a radiant golden swordsman seized Sirius, saving his life.

"Lucifer!" Maria smiled as she felt healing magic flow into her from behind—Emeraldine and Alma.

"Hang in there, Maria!" Emeraldine urged.

"This isn’t over yet! Not until we kill this monster!" Alma declared angrily.

"Why! Why did you save me?!" Sirius snarled at Jonathan.

"We are no longer enemies," Jonathan answered firmly. "With a common foe, we are allies! What’s wrong with saving the life of a friend?"

"Friend?! Don’t make me laugh!" Sirius scoffed. "But you’re right—we must kill that bastard! Look at the mess he’s made...! I’ll show him he’s not the only one with fragments!"

Suddenly Sirius leaped skyward. He activated an Evil God Fragment embedded within him and began mutating into a towering monstrosity that increasingly resembled his Outer God form.

"Damn bastard also had a fragment of my body!" Tyr roared in anger.

"We’ll demand it back later, but for now we need it on him!" Maria said. "Where is Odin’s main body?! Can anyone see it?"

"I saw it!" Nia called. "It’s over there! He’s flying higher and higher into the skies!"

"Why?!" Maria looked upward. "Ah! He’s trying to break out of the dimension?! Is he aiming to invade Yggdrasil?!"

Odin’s monstrous form surged toward the heavens. Using his razor-sharp tentacles, he began smashing and tearing open the sky.

From Midgard below, where a giant crater marked the former site of the Empire of Light—another massive spatial crack reopened.

The still-open portal to Umbralheim, though smaller now, warped further under Odin’s assault.

Both shattered spaces began converging, forming a chaotic black hole in the sky that continued to expand.

"What’s this?! More power!"

Odin laughed grotesquely as the portal to Umbralheim merged with his dimensional body. The world of Umbralheim trembled violently. Millions of living beings were devoured by Odin’s true form, feeding him unimaginable new strength.

"Damn it! He’s devouring Umbralheim! BASTARD!"

The Crimson Emperor grew desperate and charged Odin alone. Maria tried to stop him, but he ignored her and clashed against the monster!

Or tried to.

BOOOM!

"Nngaah!"

He groaned in pain as giant, mutated, monstrous heads assaulted him. Each head mimicked Odin’s face, his once-white beard now a writhing mass of black tentacles, red eyes covering every inch of his form.

Odin’s Chaotic Heads bombarded the Crimson Emperor with chaotic energy rays fused with divine light, inflicting deep, relentless wounds.

At the same time, Umbralheim shuddered as its entire structure began to distort.

The surviving Vampire Families watched in horror as a gigantic white-and-blue portal tore open in their sky. Countless black tentacles pierced their world, draining its energy.

"W-What’s happening?!"

"This is...! The end!"

"An Outer God is trying to devour our world!"

"No...! Oh no!"

"Oh Lord Sanguaroth, please save us!"

Hundreds of thousands of Vampires prayed desperately to their abyssal god—the embodiment of the Vampiric Curse, the Wicked Abyssal God Sanguaroth, the Velvet Maw.

RUMBLE!

But there was no response.

Sanguaroth was no benevolent deity. He was an evil god who demanded power and sacrifices.

He fed on the blood and souls of the countless victims his Vampire Families had claimed across eternity.

Yet this entity of darkness, dwelling in the depths of Umbralheim, was still irritated that something else dared to encroach on his domain.

The crimson moons in the sky began to shatter as Odin’s monstrous siphoning force devoured them. Large crystal cores within the moons were exposed and consumed.

The Vampires stared in stunned silence as their god remained silent and even their sacred moons were eaten.

"We have to escape—run!"

The Family Heads swiftly mobilized their territories, withdrawing them into their Blood Soul Realms and fleeing Umbralheim through teleportation devices and keys that transported them to higher floors in the tower.

Meanwhile, Odin’s insatiable, never-ending hunger continued spreading across the entire world of Yggdrasil and Umbralheim.

Through the portal to Umbralheim, Odin began devouring an entire world. Everyone in the Heavenly Realm watched in horror as gigantic continents, blood seas, nether oceans, forests of bone and blood crystal, and billions of blood beasts and other creatures poured through the portal and vanished into his "stomach."

His countless heads devoured everything. His main body grew larger and larger, everything swelling to impossible, terrifying proportions!

"SHYAAAAAGGH!"

But as Maria and her family rushed to stop Odin, a monstrous cry echoed through the void. The Crimson Emperor, locked in combat with Odin’s manifestations, recognized the familiar yet aberrant roar.

"So you have finally awakened, Sanguaroth!"

With a furious shout, he invoked the name of the Vampire God. A massive, kilometer-wide bat burst from the portal to Umbralheim, hissing in rage at Odin.

"What’s this?! A delicious new meal?! I will cook you into a tasty bat soup! GAHAHAHAHA!"

Odin laughed viciously and clashed against the enormous bat. Its fur was red and black, its body studded with dozens of crimson eyes and equipped with immense, razor-sharp fangs.

The monstrous bat tore through Odin’s manifestations and sank its fangs into his main body, draining his energy.

Yet Odin bit back, devouring it in return.

For a moment, Odin seemed forced to focus entirely on this new threat. Most of his manifestations halted their assault on the others and turned toward the bat.

"What is that thing?!" Laura asked. "It resembles what Mom had inside her!"

"That’s Sanguaroth, the God of the Vampires of Umbralheim," Maria answered. "I don’t know its full origins, but that entity is the source of the Vampire Curse."

"Yes, I know exactly what this is about," Xarion said, emerging suddenly from Maria’s shadows alongside all the other Vampire Family Heads she had previously defeated. "Sanguaroth is the progenitor of all Vampires. From his blood the first Vampire was born... the one we call the Crimson Emperor."
