Nyx despaired as she thought she was going to die against this indestructible, and monstrous foe.

And yet… his attacks simply didn't hurt even a little bit anymore.

Nyx looked at the Nightmare Demon attacking her. Suddenly, it became as small as an ant. His flames were not green anymore, but purple, barely burning her.

Within Nyx's Little Shadow Realm, two girls celebrated as they saw two other girls slowly stand up, looking confused and sleepy.

"I-I can't believe that just washing them with water would work…" Alma was holding a little wooden wand, using water magic to wake up the girls inside the cocoon, her spiritual water also cleansed the darkness and soot keeping them trapped.

Indeed, she was holding a wand made out of the wood that trapped her, which Alma kept around her pocket this entire time, perhaps as a way to remember where she came from or something.

But when Fran put all her emotions and thoughts into reimagining how it worked, out of nowhere, that little stick began floating, letting Alma conjure spirit water to wash the two trapped girls.

"W-Where are we? What happened?"

The first girl to speak was an adorable silvery-white haired girl with yellow eyes, wearing a fancy-looking dress of white and silver color.

"Are we lost?"

And the second girl looked rather nerdy, with pale skin, long black hair, freckles on her face, brown eyes, and wearing glasses.

It was Sofia and Martina!

"You're back! I don't know you but I'm so happy!"

Fran ran towards the two and hugged them.

"E-Eh?"

"Huh?!"

Both girls were so confused! But Fran was so cute and small they couldn't really push her away, they ended patting her head.

"W-Who are you little girl?" Sofia asked.

"Um, do you know us?" Martina wondered.

"I don't! But maybe I do? I don't know but Nyx knows you and you're all supposed to be big friends!" She said happily. "Please come along! We must escape this place and tell Nyx!"

"Escape?"

"Eh?"

The two girls were still confused, but Fran held their hands with her tiny hands and dragged them along.

Their age looked to be around the same as Emily, who continued playing her guitar while walking towards them.

"Girls! You freed them?!" She asked.

"Yeah we did!" Said Fran. "We have to run now! Quickly!"

"Ah yeah!"

Fran convinced everyone to leap on top of the Snow Dragon, who roared happily, flying into the black skies above them.

With everyone together, Fran led them into the shadows, and then pierced through them.

Until they reached the morning sky, with the sun rising from the horizon.

"NYYYYYYX!"

She called for her friend, as Nyx was right there, holding the little Nightmare Demon with her claws.

Fran called for her while Nyx looked at her, the two girls' eyes met for that very moment.

And in that moment, Nyx saw something.

A silhouette within Fran, of someone she knew every well and loved very much.

"Huh?"

She shed a small tear out of nowhere.

After all, even though she thought she wasn't here.

Even though she believed she was gone or somewhere eels.

That she didn't come to save her…

She did so, in her own way.

"L-Let go of me you oversized lizard! You will pay! I will channel my- Ack! Where are my powers?! I can't use a single thing now! NOOOO!"

Her thoughts were interrupted by the Nightmare Demon, which she quickly grasped tightly with her claws, to the point its entire body looked like a balloon about to burst!

"Gyyyaaack! Please spare meeeee!"

He began screaming pathetically, as Nyx descended into the ground below with her friends and turned back into her normal form.

Instead of her, the Snow Dragon held the captive with her giant freezing claws, only making things worse for him.

"Fran! Everyone! You flew out of my Shadow Realm?! But I put you there to… Well, um…" Nyx felt flustered as she looked at Sofia and Martina. "Oh! Sofia and Martina! You're here! S-So everyone's here then…"

"I am confused…" Sofia muttered.

"Where are we?!" Martina cried.

"It's a long story short, but your young adult selves got trapped here and turned into children by that monster!" Nyx pointed at the Nightmare Demon, who looked even angrier than before.

"Gaaaahh! I can't believe you freed them all from my grasp!" He kept complaining. "Dammit! Dammit! Dammit! Dammit!

"M-Monster?" Sofia asked. "A Nightmare! Oh no…"

"S-So that's what's happened? Wait a second, adult selves?!" Martina gasped. "H-Ho do I look as an adult?"

"V-Very different…" Nyx giggled a bit. "I recognized you because of the freckles…"

"How different is very different?!" Martina asked. "Please tell me this is very important!"

As she complained and everything, Nyx walked towards her friends while the Snow Dragon brought the Nightmare Demon along.

"Please turn everyone back to their ages, now!" She said angrily.

"WHAT?! Hahahaha! Are you stupid?! As if I would ever do that!" The Nightmare Demon laughed. "I am a Nightmare Demon! I am the epitome of evil and…"

"Mom has a Nightmare Demon friend! You could become friend too!" Nyx said angrily, despite everything, she still had a kind heart.

"W-Wha…!? What?!" The Nightmare Demon asked angrily. "That's impossible! What are you even on about…"

"You're… Nightmares are different than other monsters I've fought…" Nyx sighed. "Or other evil people… You never chose to become what you are, aren't you?"

"Huh?!"

"You were born that way! So I think it's unfair… That because you were born through malice, that you're forced to do evil things… Maybe that's not what you wanted!" Nyx said.

"W-What are you… Even talking about?! I am evil! I've eaten the Dream Hearts of countless Dream Warriors!" The Nightmare Demon said. "YOU CANNOT EVEN COMPREHEND THE MALICE WITHIN US!"
