Reborn As A Dragon Girl With A System-Chapter 1157 Official Start Of Her Second Trial
1157 Official Start Of Her Second Trial
Kana found herself sitting in a dark tunnel once more. There were no doors or the like, just a long, dark tunnel with chaotic energy on each side. She knew that she was currently in a dimensional rift that probably connected to the higher realm. "Welp…. Let's just see where this takes me…."
Kana moved forward once more. She needed to continue on and face whatever came. No matter what it was, she would deal with it. After what seemed like a few days, Kana came to a large opening. As she stepped through, her dark surroundings changed to that of a city street. Her eye height also dropped. She looked down at her skin and bone frail arms and knew this was another one of her lives. One she knew quite well. "Burrr…." Kana shivered as she looked at the familiar streets. She then looked at the snow slowly falling down. "Was this the day that I died?"
Kana frowned before pulling herself to the back alley. As she did, the door to the building next to her swung open, and a young man walked out with a trash bag. He didn't even glance at her as he walked over and threw the bag into the garbage. Kana felt her stomach rumble. This seemed to finally catch the attention of the young man, who turned and looked at her. "Hungry?"
Kana looked at the young man and nodded. "Mmm.." "Wait here, a sect." The young man smiled before walking into the building again. Kana could tell the young man was actually a good person. Kana sat at the side and leaned up against the wall. When she did, she heard the sound of a shopping cart stopping near her. "What the fuck are you doing?"
Kana turned and looked at the man. A man she would never forget. "I am waiting for food. What is it to you? I did not touch your dumpster. The food given to me by others has nothing to do with you."
"Bullshit! Everyone knows this is my territory! Fuck off! Your food is mine! If you don't fuck off, I will beat you until you understand who owns these back alleys!" the man showed his grotesque yellow teeth and took a step toward Kana. "What are you doing!" The young man's voice echoed through the alley. "She is just a little girl. Leave her alone!"
The man did not seem afraid at all. His eyes locked onto the box in the young man's hand. "Hand it over, and I won't kill you." "Are you crazy!?" The young man took a step back. He had never met such a person before.
"Leave him alone…." Kana spoke softly. "Otherwise, this world will not even know a person like you existed."
Kana wanted to make a door ornament out of this man so she could smile every time she saw him burning alive, but she knew this was only an illusion. Or so she hoped. She really did hope there was no other her out there having to go through the same things over and over again.
"What did you say!?" The man turned and kicked out toward Kana, but she did not even move. Instead, her gaze fell on the man, and the man who had such a sinister expression on his face suddenly disappeared. There was no trace of him as if he had never been there, to begin with. Even the carriage he had been pushing disappeared. "Huh?" The young man looked around, confused. He could have sworn that he was just yelling at someone just now. Shaking his head and wrinkling his brow, he turned to the little girl who was just standing there. "Come inside." "Hmmm?" Kana looked at the young man in surprise.
"It's too cold out here for you to be trying to eat." Kana was surprised that he would make such an offer. She smiled and nodded her head. She walked inside with the young man, who stopped to look around once more. He kept feeling something was off.
"What this, Jay, a new girlfriend?" Another young man teased.
"Shut up, dude. She is a street rat. I couldn't just let her freeze to death look at her." Jay looked at Kana, who was wearing no shoes and had nothing but a long shirt on. She was completely red from the cold weather outside. "Holy crap!" The other young man cried out. He had not noticed it before, but now that it was pointed out, it was true! "Hold on!" The young man suddenly ran into the other room. His friend looked at him, wondering just what he was planning to do. Seconds later, he came back out with a jacket. He walked over and placed it around Kana. "I only got a jacket. I get picked up, so I do not need it."
"You don't need to…." Kana wanted to tell him it was okay, but when he saw him smile and even reach out to rub the top of her head, she couldn't say no anymore. But Kana did not understand. Why was this even a trial? What was there for her to do in such a situation? She looked down at the burger in her hands and then at the overly large coat around her body and smiled softly. The kindness of others is warm. Tears began to well up in her eyes. She sat quietly and sobbed under her breath. She was glad she had been reborn, but what if things did not happen that way? What if she was given such kindness back then? What would have happened to her?
[Very good you understand.]
A voice filled her mind. One she knew very well.
[This trial is not a trial on what you need to do but to live a life that did not exist before. I want to see where you will go. Where you will be in the future of this trial, what you do will be judged by me. How you live your life will be judged by me. You still have your powers, but how you use them will also be judged by me. Your official start of this trial starts now….]
