Chapter 44: Dealing with the Slaves

"You can go now," Kaidros stood before the fellow humans that were enslaved. As he had released them, each of them had a lifeless expression. When they heard this, there was a hint of life in their eyes, looking at Kaidros.

They then looked at themselves and saw they weren’t chained. Looking around and seeing the corpse of the old man, it was then it occurred to them that they were truly free, light sparkling in their eyes.

One of them moved forward. He was a burly middle-aged man. "I thank you on behalf of all of us for freeing us from this bondage," the burly middle-aged man said, while Kaidros nodded, waving his hand toward them, signaling that they should go.

"Hey, Kaidros, what are we going to do about you partially transforming into a dragon?" Drake said. "Some might have memories of that and might spread your identity, which you have exposed."

When Drake said this, it was then Kaidros realized that this was true.

"Don’t worry, the system will take care of it and erase their memories about you and him. As the Dragon Emperor, your existence mustn’t be found out," Draco chuckled, while Drake was relieved by this, a smile appearing on his face.

As the enslaved people went out, they were suddenly confused as to why they were outside. Even the crowd looked at them, confused about what was happening. They had no idea what they had witnessed; what was in their minds was that someone had saved them.

As for who it was, they didn’t know—whether it was a devil or an angel.

Back at the building, Drake looked at the beasts that were chained and was confused about what to do with them. Should he make them undergo bloodline transmutation, sell them, or kill them?

For some moments, he was confused. "Kaidros, what do you think we should do with them?" Drake looked at the beasts, numbering up to twenty. He could see a wolf, a panther—he was even surprised to see a beast related to a lizard. What surprised him the most were the two snakes kept in a well-forged cave. He could see that they had a huge amount of aura, and this wasn’t the main point. He could feel a familiar aura from them, which made him confused.

"Master, why don’t you let them go through the Dragon Gate? If they are worthy of passing it, then they can join the clan. As for those who don’t pass through, you can do whatever we want with them," Kaidros replied.

When Drake thought about this, he saw that it was a good idea. And even more, he hadn’t forgotten the system mission to level up the Dragon Palace.

"Then tell them," Drake grinned, while Kaidros nodded. This conversation had been done face to face, not telepathically, so their words were heard by everyone there.

"You heard everything, right?" Kaidros smiled toward the beasts that were caged.

"There’s an opportunity before you. And do you know what the opportunity is?" Kaidros smiled.

"To become a dragon."

"Hmph, what do you mean? Dragons? What cunning humans. You aren’t a dragon, so how can you make us one?" the wolf in one of the cages snorted. It was a wind-element wolf like the one Drake fought with.

When the wolf said this, the others began to talk as well. Most of them could speak, and those who couldn’t were the ones with low cultivation. The two snakes didn’t speak either, simply watching, even though they had the highest strength here. ƒreeωebnovel.ƈom

When Kaidros heard this, he chuckled. The beasts weren’t aware of the fact that Kaidros was a dragon, as when he transformed, he had been in the human cage area, not the beast’s own. Kaidros had also limited his aura in the area where they fought.

"Who told you I am a human?" Immediately after Kaidros said this, he released his Draconic Aura, which spread out from him, taking the form of his sword dragon.

Every beast there found themselves trembling as they bowed in respect. Kaidros withdrew his aura, allowing them to breathe.

"Now do you understand and believe my words?" Kaidros smiled.

"We, sisters, agree." For the first time, the snakes spoke, and it seemed that they were female.

Some beasts also agreed, while some were still contemplating, the wind wolf included.

"Don’t worry. Even if you fail the test, you can still stay within the palace and continue to partake in the test," Drake chipped in.

When the wind wolf heard this, it looked at Drake, confused. "And who’s—"

It hadn’t even finished its words when it saw that Drake’s golden eyes had transformed into Draconic. Immediately, its body began shivering with fear. It didn’t dare look up again, and all the beasts were also shivering like this.

"This is my Master," Kaidros grinned, and Drake withdrew the small amount of aura he had released.

"I agree!" Every beast immediately agreed when they saw this. After Kaidros saw this, he released them from the cage. They didn’t dare misbehave or try to run away. They knew this was their greatest chance in life.

"You have to stay here for a while," Drake said as he stretched his hand forward and activated the Void Devour Stomach. A small vortex appeared that devoured their gigantic figures.

After dealing with this, they checked everything before heading back to the human areas and saw that the female receptionist was still there.

"You can go now," Kaidros walked toward the young lady, who was looking at them with lifeless eyes.

When the young lady heard this, she looked at Kaidros, then suddenly walked over and took one of the weapons from the assassins, trying to kill herself.

In that instant, Drake moved, stopping her as he took the weapon from her.

He looked at her. "So you want to die without avenging your parents or yourself?" When the young lady heard this, she burst into tears.

"What about this? I give you the strength to take revenge—but it’s up to you to accept it," Drake smiled.
