Reborn as a Devouring Dragon with a System-Chapter 31: A Year After (2)
Chapter 31: A Year After (2)
"Old man, would you shake hands with a dragon or die?" he heard a domineering male voice from the small figure that made his body shake and tremble as the small figure stretched its hand forward to him.
A dragon?
Drek was shocked by this. The news had circulated across the Origin Continent about the dragon roar. They had all speculated that it was the birth of a dragon, which prompted them to begin looking for the dragon so they could have it all to themselves.
Dragons—the apex predators in the universe. A baby dragon can rival most cultivators. Adults fly in the starry sky and are known to be the hegemons of the world. Each dragon is valued by cultivators; their scales and wings can be used to make indestructible and powerful weapons, especially if it was a powerful dragon used.
If one ingests their blood, one’s physical strength would be increased—and this is also true for their sensitivity towards Originat. If one is lucky, they could gain Draconic traits from the blood. But this is rare and only happens in instances where the dragon is powerful and noble, and the person who ingests it is weaker.
But a baby dragon is preferred to a dead one. If one is able to raise a dragon from birth, they would become companions and even gain access to dragon skills. This was what they were all planning for. If it was a baby dragon, they would keep it alive, but if it was an adult, it was better off dead.
Everyone had been looking for traces of the dragon but hadn’t found anything noteworthy. This made some wonder if it might be a treasure, not a real dragon. He never thought he would meet one here—and such a young one at that.
He looked toward the small figure, and behold, he saw a large amount of aura emitted from it. A black dragon was formed from the aura. It had golden eyes and looked at Drek with those eyes.
When Drek saw the dragon’s eyes, he shuddered as he felt a domineering aura fall upon him—full of majesty and awe. He smiled bitterly, looking at the eyes of the dragon and those of the small figure—they were the same.
He took a look at the hand stretched forward. Shake hands with a dragon? He looked toward the sky. Then he began to feel everything turning black. Feeling death draw closer, he realized he didn’t want to die. Without much hesitation, he stretched his hand forward and held the hand of the dragon.
"You made the right choice." This was what he heard before everything turned dark.
As he lost sight of everything, even though he was still breathing, they suddenly disappeared from the view of the world.

In the Dragon Palace,
The small figure appeared with Drek. Taking off the coat from its form, the person was none other than Drake Vorr.
"Why would you bring a dying human here and also reveal your identity? Don’t you know humans are treacherous?" Drax appeared in front of Drake as he complained.
"Aren’t you the one that said anyone who undergoes bloodline cleansing in the Dragon Pool can’t betray me?" Drake rolled his eyes. "Also, I can’t be staying here forever. I need to go outside and see what the world has for me. Since he’s a human and this old, he should know more about the outside world."
"Hmph," Drax snorted. Drake just smiled as he walked toward the Dragon Pool. When he got there, he waved his hand as the corpses of beasts appeared, placing them near the statue as they were absorbed and turned into nutrients.
He placed Drek, who was hanging on a thread, into the pool.
Ding!
[Detecting a human creature in the Dragon Pool. Does Host want to begin with the bloodline transmutation? (Y/N)]
"Yes."
Ding!
[Beginning bloodline transmutation.]
Drake watched as Drek began to frown in pain as his blood was being transmuted, blood flowing from the mouth of the dragon statue.
Ding!
[Detecting a special substance in the human body. This unknown substance is compatible with the Draconic bloodline, which can lead to a mutated bloodline. Does Host still want to proceed? (Y/N)]
"Yes." Drake looked toward the pool. This was the first time he was hearing of a mutated bloodline—he wanted to see what kind of mutated dragon this old man would become.
Ding!
[Insufficient energy to continue the transmutation of the mutated Draconic bloodline.]
When Drake saw this, he was shocked and added more corpses.
[Insufficient energy to continue the transmutation of the mutated Draconic bloodline.]
The system sounded again and again, until...
Ding!
[Energy sufficient to proceed with the bloodline process. Beginning bloodline transmutation.]
Suddenly, the blood began to flow toward Drek. An hour passed, and it was still ongoing—the children’s rabbit wasn’t as long as this.
Ding!
[Bloodline Transmutation Complete.]
[A new bloodline created: Sword Dragon Bloodline.]
[The bloodline has become Royal Grade.]
When Drake heard this, he was surprised. He turned to the Dragon Pool, and behold—he saw a large dragon with silent scales that looked like swords. It had only one horn that pierced through the heavens like a sword. Its tails were like swords, and its silver eyes sent a sharp gaze as it spread its sword wings toward the sky. Everything about it spoke of swords.
Ding!

"A real dragon," Drax said as he turned to the Sword Dragon. Suddenly, the body of the Sword Dragon lit up with intense, sharp sword energy.
Slowly, it transformed, and a young man with silver hair and eyes appeared. He looked similar to Drek. The young man walked toward Drake as he knelt down.
"Master, name this servant."
Drake was surprised by this. "What about your old name?"
"That has been cast away from me. I no longer have ties with it," the young man said determinedly, and Drake could feel this.
"Then what about Kaidros Vorra?"
"Thank you, Master, for bestowing a name upon this servant."
Ding!
[Host has gained the Sword Dragon Bloodline.]
