Reborn As A Bastard Child: Woah! I'm Super Overpowered-Chapter 26: A Dead End
Chapter 26 - A Dead End
Well...
Since the system had decided to play dead, there wasn't really much Raven could do.
Well there actually was something he could do...
Raven could move on to the next room.
And he did exactly that.
But the next room turned out to be ......
Disappointing, to say the least.
The room was filled with paintings. Just fucking pictures, laminated and hung on the walls.
Okay, not fucking.
Each painting was elegant, sophisticated and glamourous, each a masterpiece in its own right.
But Raven was in no mood to appreciate arts.
Wherever Raven looked.
There were only paintings and portraits.
He might have been elated if he was a drawing teacher in his previous life.
Unfortunately, he was not.
He taught Physics, and never in his life did he possess an appreciation for art forms.
Or that was what he always claimed.
Hmm well, upon further reflection that might not be entirely true ......
Let's give the poor guy a bit privacy, eh?
He asked the system to give the room a once over, in the hopes of finding secret stashes, hidden safes, trapdoors and literally whatnot.
Voila!
The system came up empty handed.
Hoping to get the frustration out of his system, Raven conjured up flames in his right hand, wishing to burn the entire room down.
Only for the meddlesome consciousness of Balthazar Ralph Ignaz to butt his nose in where it clearly did not belong.
Well technically his nose did belong there, since the entire dungeon was his grave, after all.

But a frustrated Raven gains the superpower of bypassing logic.
Raven suddenly found himself standing outside the room, facing the blank wall where the door used to be.
It seemed that the entire room had changed its position, expelling Raven out of it in the process.
Even the system could not help but raise an eyebrow witnessing such a scenario.
[My, my, it seems Balthazar Ralph Ignaz's Will still extends impeccable control over its domain, even after the dust of a few centuries have settled over his grave.
This shouldn't have been possible unless........]
"Unless what??" Raven urged.
It turned out that the system Raven had procured for himself had a particular knack for playing dumb.
Mum's the motto, they say......
Encountering complete radio silence, Raven sighed and shifted through all the recently acquired knowledge in his mind.
But he found nothing useful, even slightly related.
Resigning, he decided to try a different approach.
And what the hell was his grand plan?
Nothing much.
He would just ask the system another question.
"How can I access that room again?"
[Balthazar Ralph Ignaz's Will shifted the room's location.
This means that to the man, this room is quite important.
Keep it in mind, when you destroyed that library, he did not bat an eye.
So it seems that stumbling upon that room again coincidentally like a third - rate protagonist will not be possible, as he would go to any lengths to keep the room safe from you.
Therefore, the only way to access the room is to force Balthazar Ralph Ignaz's Will into submission and order it to take you to the room.
As to how you will exert your dominance over this stubborn guy's Will, that I have no idea of.
But fret not.
Even though his Will is still at large, he will not be able to change the key features of his domain, for example the location of the boss room of the dungeon.
So once you find out the exact location of the boss room, your worries would ease by ...... let's go with 5%. ]
"Say system, aren't you getting a bit too comfortable?
Since when did you transition from addressing me as host to simply calling me 'you'?"
Raven asked, mock surprise and hurt laced his tone.
[From now host]
The system deadpanned. But it did not stop there.
[And it alarms me that during my entire explanation, that was the only part you chose to invest all your focus on.]
Raven shook his head, chuckling.
He internally hoped that the next and last door of the corridor would yield something better.
If only...
