Reborn As A Bastard Child: Woah! I'm Super Overpowered-Chapter 16: Plans and Anticipation
Chapter 16: Plans and Anticipation
I was always this strong. You just did not know......
These lines were cringe even for someone like Raven.
But surprisingly, saying such stuff garnered him a great pleasure.
His subordinates, of course, believed each and every nonsense that Raven spouted, thanks to two high-end hypnosis inducing skills working together.
They submissively went back to sleep, while Raven conducted a bit more 'experimentation' on how far his strength had actually improved.
But whatever he did, he made sure not to venture anywhere near that gigantic hulk of a tree in the distance, which he assumed was the Mother Tree, the very entity about which the system had previously warned him against.
For now, Raven's biggest concern was controlling is own strength.
He didn't wish to go on a rampage and flatten out the entire Demantoid Wilderness in one of his casual experiments.
Because for now, the Wilderness served him a great purpose: it provided him protection against all prying eyes which wanted to erase his very existence.
Because after all, the mere mention of the Demantoid Wilderness anywhere on the continent would induce so much fear that it was enough to instil a silence so profound, even immortals would dare not disturb the delicate atmosphere.
Because even if the forest was never the first one to strike, it had always proactively retaliated when the first move was made against it.
Folklore has it that once an emperor of a famine-plagued Ignaz, in the distant past, had ordered a large portion of the forest to be cleared for agriculture. All the men ready to take up the project was paid a small fortune in advance, and ten arrogant youths had gone to cut the trees down one fine morning.
Not a single tree was wounded and none of the men had returned.
As for the emperor who gave the order ... ... he was found dead in his bedchamber within the week, had died an unnatural death but of unknown reasons.
The prevailing belief was that it the revenge of the forest.
After all, nobody really knew how many different species called the forest their home.
So far so, Raven had managed to only kill a few elves with that one punch of his.

And after that day, Raven had not indulged in any reckless move, instead opting to quietly learn the method of controlling his newfound strength.
As for the mother tree, he didn't really care.
(Time Skip: 1 Month)
After a month of putting in rigorous efforts, Raven finally managed to perfect his control over his strength.
Now, with a mere thought of his, he can uproot a tree with a casual flick of his fingers, without causing another hundred trees to be uprooted as a side-effect.
Oh, and he has already managed to gather 5000 malevolent points by mainly uprooting trees and reviving demonic beasts after killing them, earning himself the cautiousness of the Mother Tree.
Not facing any real action for an entire month, Raven was now riled up to stir up some trouble within the forest, and embark on a grand adventure.
But however, Raven was a cautious soul and therefore put a tight leash on his excitement for the moment.
He instead began preparing every arsenal he had in his disposal to make his 'little trip' the most awesome.
He finally hatched a solid plan. He decided he would pay the Mother Tree towering over the horizon a little 'courteous' visit.
Adrenaline rushed through his veins as the familiar system's dings resounded in his mind.

With so many tools shining in his arsenal as well as some hidden trump cards, Raven grinned like a madman, ready to go deep inside the forest and explore.
But mandatory sleeping time comes first!
Surrounded by the gentle lapping of the river Luna, slight rustling of the swaying willows, and the refreshing aroma of a hundred blossoms, Raven gently closes his eyes, ready to drift off to dreamland, his mind still abuzz with the anticipation of what the next day has in store for him.
"Tomorrow's gonna be one hell of a day!"
With this single thought in heart, Raven's eyelids flutter shut.
