Chapter 471: Chapter 471: I Believe in Her

Elias Sinclair’s voice came gently from above, carrying a faint smile: "So, stop thinking about leaving me."

The hospital room was silent, and although Quinn Lockwood didn’t speak again, Elias Sinclair knew he had already received an affirmative answer.

The next day, Quinn Lockwood woke up in Elias Sinclair’s arms.

She seemed to have stayed by Elias Sinclair’s side until the second half of the night when the infusion was finished. Her last memory was of drowsily resting by the bedside for a while, after which she had no recollection.

"Awake?" A man’s deep voice came from beside her, still carrying the hoarseness of waking up.

Quinn Lockwood blinked in a daze, and the man’s warm, smooth fingertips gently caressed her cheek from the side.

When she lifted her eyes, she was met with a pair of deep and enchanting eyes. The white pillow slightly sank, making the man’s already fair and handsome face appear even cleaner and gentler.

"I, how come I..." The man’s warm body was pressed closely against her, causing Quinn Lockwood’s face to flush instantly.

She tried to twist her body to avoid the awkward and ambiguous atmosphere, but wasn’t able to move at all.

"You were exhausted yesterday."

"Even though I really dislike others touching you, I still let Angus and a nurse help you up." The man’s lips curled into a gentle arc, only smoothing out slightly when mentioning Angus.

Quinn Lockwood blinked in surprise, looked down at the edge of the bed, and couldn’t help but sigh.

Fortunately, this hospital belonged to Elias Sinclair, and the bed in the room was big enough for both of them to sleep on. Otherwise, if Angus had helped move her onto the couch, Elias Sinclair, that jealous man, might have chopped off his hand!

"Did I not touch your wound?" Quinn Lockwood lifted her hand off Elias Sinclair’s body, asking worriedly.

However, the moment she moved her hand, the man caught it again and placed it back on himself.

Elias Sinclair seemed displeased with Quinn Lockwood removing her hand. He barely moved his eyebrows and was about to say something when the door was gently tapped twice and then pushed open.

"Elias, mom came to bring you..." Mrs. Sinclair stepped in carrying a lunch box and several files. Upon seeing her son and Quinn Lockwood lying close together on the bed, her face suddenly changed.

"I came to deliver some nourishing soup and important documents. I originally wanted to let you rest, but your dad insisted that these decisive documents required your decision."

Mrs. Sinclair’s voice turned several degrees colder as she placed the lunch box and files by the bed, her piercing gaze landing sharply on Quinn Lockwood: "Elias’ wound is by the waist, and you’re like this..."

"I, I’ll go fetch some water." Before Mrs. Sinclair could finish, Quinn Lockwood jumped off the bed in a flurry, her face turning red as she dashed out of the room.

It wasn’t her intention to interrupt Mrs. Sinclair, but from the moment she entered, Quinn Lockwood had wanted to get out of bed, but Elias Sinclair held her waist tightly, preventing any movement.

It was too embarrassing to be seen sleeping on the same bed in front of an elder...

Even though nothing happened between them and they were in a hospital, Quinn Lockwood felt extremely shy.

Walking towards the water room, her face felt as hot as if she had a fever, and upon entering, she regretfully patted her head.

She left too hastily and didn’t bring anything to fetch water with, but under the circumstances, she definitely felt too embarrassed to go back, so she could only... ask a nurse or doctor here.

After all, the entire building belonged to Elias Sinclair, so surely everything was well-equipped.

Meanwhile, in the hospital room, Mrs. Sinclair took out photos of Quinn Lockwood and Jonah Hansen and handed them to Elias Sinclair.

In fact, given Mrs. Sinclair’s capabilities, she had also found intimate photos of Quinn Lockwood with other ambiguous individuals, but she only presented the ones with Jonah Hansen because after analysis, she believed Jonah Hansen was the most likely person with whom Quinn Lockwood could have been unfaithful.

The other three were only rumored during collaborations, and one was Savannah Lowell’s brother she grew up with. Only Jonah Hansen had even been to a hotel with Quinn Lockwood.

"Elias, how long are you going to let her deceive you?"

"I don’t care who you like, I even genuinely considered Savannah Lowell as a daughter, but just look at what she has done, it’s simply... simply shameless!"

Mrs. Sinclair stood by the bed, her eyes filled with disdain as she looked at the photos in Elias Sinclair’s hands, as if she were looking at Quinn Lockwood herself.

Even if their son liked a girl from a modest family, or someone whose looks and qualifications were ordinary, as long as she truly loved Elias, it was fine.

Although Quinn Lockwood was impeccable in appearance and her family standing was comparable to the Sinclair Group, Mrs. Sinclair’s sole dissatisfaction was her lack of love for Elias Sinclair and her dubious character.

"You don’t understand her." Elias Sinclair’s voice was calmly cold, as serene as a peaceful lake without a ripple.

He handed the photos back to Mrs. Sinclair, then picked up the folder and started reading, as if she hadn’t said anything to him.

"Elias, you..." Mrs. Sinclair’s grip on the photos tightened, her brows furrowing deeply.

"I believe in her." The man’s gaze remained fixed on the folder, his long eyes slightly lowered, but his voice was firm and unquestionable.

Mrs. Sinclair momentarily felt as if she had wrongly accused Quinn Lockwood, but quickly reverted to her harsh demeanor. Just as she was about to speak, Elias Sinclair lightly flipped a page, his expression intensely focused.

"Inside is a light porridge and some small dishes, enough for you and Savannah Lowell."

"Wait for her to come back and have some food first, before it gets cold." Seeing Elias Sinclair still defending Quinn Lockwood, Mrs. Sinclair sighed with helplessness, casting a doubtful glance towards the door.

Just as Mrs. Sinclair left the room, Quinn Lockwood came back with some hot water, crossing paths with her.

"Mom, you..." When Quinn Lockwood saw Mrs. Sinclair leaving, she flusteredly stepped back, almost spilling the water on herself.

And before she could utter the second syllable, Mrs. Sinclair gave her a displeased look, then left without a backward glance.

Uh? Could it be her mother-in-law was actually upset because of the intimacy she just had with Elias Sinclair?

No wonder, although the hospital belonged to Elias, they were not at home after all. The two of them sharing the same bed might hold no actual consequence.

But... being so tightly nestled together still made Quinn Lockwood’s heart race and cheeks redden at the thought.
